As with a lot of people these days, I chose this place because I loved the work of one of the artists (Jaya), even though it's a long way from home! I think this place has cornered the 'hipster' market due to the high quality of tattoo artists, the general ambiance of the place, and great social media marketing. The Facebook and Instagram pages are all up to date, and give all the information you need about every artist. I had made an appointment in August to talk about the design I wanted (a weaving shuttle!). I had the tattoo last night, and have already recommended them to everyone! Jaya did an amazing job at translating my image into his awesome 'etched' style, and was very good at putting me at ease for my first non-cosmetic tattoo. Everyone was very friendly and welcoming. You can either get your own design adapted, or use one of the artists' artworks. The most important thing about getting a tattoo is making sure the artist suits your style - Wolf & Wren have artist of all different styles, so you're sure to find one you like!

As they have quite a strong client base, they are likely to reccommend a different tattoo studio for such pieces, but are generally very hepful in providing advice in that regard and reccommending a suitable artist. Their work in general is quite strong and mechanistic, with elements of the fantastic. They often have an eeirie or sppoky element to them. I can imagine this may turn some people off - not me, luckily! I had seen Vani-T products online for years, but had not visited the Glenelg store before today. I thought I'd better visit, as Vani-T are a South Australian brand, and do mineral makeup (no nasties!), which is the only type of makeup I will wear ;) The staff were friendly and helpful, and the salon itself is lovely if you are there for a treatment. The makeup range isn't massive (though there are quite a number of lovely eyeshadows), but the products are well priced and good quality. So far I am impressed with the lipstick I bought - if it continues to impress, I will definitely be coming here again for more!

If you're looking for a simple cut, or you want that vintage/classic look (all you Elvis and James Dean fanboys, listen up), then Frank's your man. He knows exactly what he's doing, and if you tell him clearly what you want, he'll do it for you. Not only is he extremely experienced with cutting hair, but he's quick with the scissors too. My haircuts have never taken longer than 20 minutes. There's nothing like sitting back in the chair and having your hair cut by a pro, the good old way. The best part is when he gets out the traditional razor blade. Don't be afraid; it's sharp as hell, and he might sound like the Godfather, but he's very careful. Frank doesn't take appointments; walk-ins only. You might have to wait around for a wihle if he's busy with customers, but you're never kept waiting too long.

I'd been planning this tattoo for months because I knew my girl had terminal lung cancer, but I'd landed on Lampin's door step without an appointment by chance on my way home. It just happen to be at the right time to get done straight away, while Lampin had a brief break in between clients. (Perfect timing for me) I showed Lampin what I wanted & away he went doing his thing on his computer thingee & then printed off the stencil. He was very friendly & listened to what I wanted & offering suggestions etc. I was so impressed with the cleanliness and hygiene practice here - important for me because I have autoimmunes & a bleeding disorder. But I generally go to the Essential Beauty here in North Park and in town to get my eyebrows waxed, and I rarely, if ever have a problem with them. at approximately $15 per eyebrow wax, with your tenth wax free if you are in their system - it's not a bad deal. If you tell them the basic shape you want they will do it, if you leave it up to their discretion they will do what they know best, which varies slightly from person to person. This particular branch seems clean, and is rarely busy, so I can go in there and ask for a wax - and get it almost immediately. I got a full body spray tan once, for my mums wedding, I didn't want to get it done, I didn't like the idea of it, and I was uncomfortable with it -not to mentionI am very self conscious about my body, but my experience with the lady there was lovely, as she was very nice, friendly and understanding. Overall I haven't had a negative experience here.

And downstairs is a hair salon (which I haven't tried). Always make an appointment, as it is a popular place! And yes, they will recommend products for your skin, but are not overtly pushy about them. And I can highly recommend Jess, my current beauty therapist, she is very friendly and spends time looking at my skin and adjusting the treatment where needed.

The Aveda tea they serve is delicious and one of my favourite little value-adds that come with getting my hair done here.
