Edited: I found the BBB rating for this place, and they had an "F", which made me even more angry…read more I had called and emailed and called and emailed and heard nothing back. I was actually ready to escalate it further but finally received a call back today by a woman name Carrie, who is the scheduler for the company. What a relief, she was super patient with me even though I was quite snippy with her to get started. Once we got all calm, she actually got me totally scheduled for all of our drives and made sure I was satisfied before we ended the call. I changed my rating from one star to three stars - and left it at that because it should not be that hard to get help for such an expensive service. Plus, their website totally sucks. Original: I really wish I had found this page before I signed my daughter up for Swerve. I called today and asked for my money back, but they'll only offer a partial refund because my daughter attended two courses. I told the woman that they guaranteed in-car training as part of the course, so if they can't provide that, it's fraud and I'll escalate this as far as needed to get my full refund. My experience is echoing every other person's on here. There are no drives to be scheduled unless I want to drive to Woodinville (25 miles away). There was one drive available, and by the time I decided to just bite the bullet and go for it, their website was so slow that I couldn't even book it. For the amount of money I paid for this, I could have hired a private instructor and been guaranteed drives. The only drives available are scheduled during school hours (seriously? every kid in my daughters class goes to her high school. I'm not pulling my daughter out of school to drive). I emailed before classes started because I was worried about the availability of drives. They assured me that they were adding more and not to worry - to go ahead and start my daughter and there would be plenty of drives. Of course they're going to say that. If they'd said, "Yeah, we have no intention of adding more drives, so suck it up" everyone would withdraw. That's obviously not the case. This is the most expensive driving school in the area. For $600 a pop, and 10 kids in class, you'd think that $6000 would be enough to get an extra couple of instructors in for drives during a reasonable hour. Christina, our instructor, already told us she made $30 an hour. Do the math, Swerve, and get it together. I'm disgusted and frustrated to say the least.

Ask for the yellow packet for written test, supposed to be easier. Arrive early before they run out…read more& give you the red packet. I feel that they tried to make extra money by starting the drive test with parallel parking both times which can result in auto fail. Had to pay for the drive test 3 times. Also hard to get a hold of them on the phone. I do think all the drive schools are like this these days. Good luck to all the new drivers. Lincoln is best out of all, ask for him if you don't want rude teachers.

If you or your child has a fear of water, I can not recommend Orca Swim enough! As an adult, I was…read moreone of those people who wouldn't even put their face in the water and now I can confidently hang out in the deep end and even go snorkeling in open water, something I wouldn't have considered a couple years ago. Yes, the classes are more expensive than most courses, but you spend a lot of time in the water with each class and you get individual attention with the small class sizes. Not to mention that being in a class with other students who were as petrified as I was made me feel like I wasn't alone. You also get a nice warm pool so you don't have to worry about staying warm and can just have fun. These courses are for true beginning students. Instead of focusing on strokes, they focus on being comfortable in the water no matter what you are doing. I tried several classes around the area before these and the instructors would dive right into teaching us the strokes and only had 30 minute class times. That's fine if you swam as a child and want a refresher, but didn't work for me as someone who had avoided water all of my life. Orca Swim classes were completely worth the money! I have no regrets and have since taken additional classes here or just gone back to enjoy the warm pool. As a note: This is one of two locations in the area -- the other is in Seattle. I've been to both and would recommend you use whichever one works with your schedule and your commute. I believe they also teach classes at other locations around the Sound, so go to their website for more info.

We went to our sons first swim lesson with Orca. Unfortunately, I was disappointed with the…read morefacility and how it is marketed on the website. I felt with a nice website, a private swim school, and higher prices, the facility would match what is offered. I cant believe how unprofessional and how a business is legally operated out of that place. "This is a private indoor pool with many outdoor features like beautiful plants that surround the deck. The pool has both shallow and deep water, it also features a small hot tub. The water temperature in the pool is a consistent 90 degrees. Our classes are exclusive to this pool." Pros: 1) Importantly, the teacher was amazing with kids Cons: 1) The facility/pool looked horrendous. The floors around the pool, the bathrooms were filthy. The random chairs, some dirty , some clean, lack thereof etc... 2) Hot tub? it looked like a hot mess with junk toys and leaves at the bottom of it. 3) Parking situation is a nightmare. Check out the facility before signing up!
