Comcast has done everything in their power to discourage customers like me. I have two homes, one in Boca Raton and one in Boston. I live in Boston from June to October and Boca the rest of the year. In Boca, our condo has a contract with Comcast that costs me $50/mo regardless of whether I use it or not. It's a bad deal that the Condo Board signed despite the objection of many owners. The $50 dollars gets me 100 channels of low res TV, which basically includes just what you can get from broadcast TV, but at NTSC resolution rather than HD. Why anyone would want this, I don't know. So, in order to get HD, I have to pay more (approximately $40/mo more). Of course, internet is yet more. When I am in Boston, I am still paying through my condo fees for FL. When cancelling my extra contract and returning my equipment FL, Comcast demanded the small analog NTSC box that provides the basic service. Why? I am still paying for it. Isn't it part of the contract with the condo? Apparently not. You must have a separate contract with Comcast to enjoy the service you already deserve. But worse, since I now can no longer view any channels in Florida, shouldn't the $50 I am paying for basic service I am not receiving be transferred up to Boston. Apparently not. Comcast somehow claims that though one company, Boston and Boca act separately. Great! So, now that I'm back in Boston, I sign up for internet and TV. Last year I paid $100/mo for both and Comcast provided a few extra interesting channels, like HGTV. This year, I am paying $120/mo and can't get HGTV unless I pay an additional $45/mo. You've got to be kidding. Unfortunately for me, Comcast has a contract with Boston that apparently can not be broken by the City. Therefore, there is no competition at my location. Perhaps I should try a dish for TV. But for Cable, the best alternative, RCN, is one block away with no set plans on when the might reach my location. You might like to know my plan moving forward. I plan to keep the Internet Service, since I can't find another provider with the bandwidth to stream, but cancel the CATV. I already stream via Netflix and Prime. I will add more streaming services, like Sling. These are relatively inexpensive compared with Comcast. As soon as Verizon FIOS or RCN reach my location, it's goodby and good riddance to Comcast. read more

I went to the Frammingham MA. store and received rude attention from the manager and two people there who had NO CLUE what was going on. They shut my cable off as I turned in two OTHER boxes?????? I then spent 3 hours on the phone with 2 different agents. 2 hours with one and 45 minutes with the other. Both incapable of resolving my cable issue. In the meantime not one AGENT KEPT notes during this mess. So I had a tech scheduled from 8-10am on Sunday which was great because the NFC and AFC CHAMPIONSHIP GAMES were on. The tech cancelled!!!! WTF!!!!!I HAD NO CABLE FOR 2 FULL DAYS AND NIGHTS!!!! When Tyrone did arrive the following day he was great!!!! THE ONLY BRIGHT SPOT IN THIS 48 HOUR CRAP. So Comcast promised me a great credit for all the BS???? IT DIDNT HAPPEN!!! SO ANOTHER 20 Minutes on the phone with nothing. Signed up for Xfinity, promised 30 day refund if not satisfied, Installer was amateur. Left wires hanging out of walls, Service did not work right, I called and complained three times. Tech did not resolve problems, but they charged me $58 for the third visit. When I called to challenge the charge, I reminded the agent that I was still at 30 days, and I was going to cancel my subscription and get my money back. While I was on the phone she shut off my Cable TV, and my Internet. an hour later she shut off my phone. When I called ATT to get my 2 phone numbers (i had for 30 years) back they told me Comcast wouldn't release them. I called Comcast and they told me the only way to get them back was to reinstate my service with them (negating my 30 day refund. As it was, I was without Cable TV, phone service, and Internet for 2 months. It took 6 months and many hours of phone calls to get my refund, even though I returned their equipment the same day as their shut off. If a Comcast salesman ever comes to my door again, he may be taking his life into his own hands! read more

Only giving them one star because there is nothing lower. They are overpriced, unreliable, rude, unknowledgeable, unhelpful, etc., etc... Try to call, and you have to jump through a hundred hoops, due to the number of complaints, just to get to a live person and get put on hold. Try to "chat" your complaint, and you can't find a topic that covers the issue. Put it under another topic, and you will be on hold forever, much like when you call. I've been in the chat que for 20 minutes now. Try to drop a service, like landline phones, and your bill will go up, even though you are decreasing service. Many places can't have dish, or are stuck with Xfinity for certain reasons beyond their control. It is quite the scam that they are running. Ridiculous! Inconsistent network speeds, terrible customer service (expect them to speak down on you). They advertise their Blast high speed wifi to be at 150mbps, but when I run a speed test it's barely over 30! I have no other option as they're the only provider for my apartment...but seriously, AVOID IF POSSIBLE. read more

Really annoyed with Xfinity services. It's very expensive. When I called to cancel my service, the automated machine was "transferring" me to a representative but then dropped my call 5 times in a row. I can't help but think that this is intentional. The only way I could talk to a representative is to not tell the automated machine why I'm calling until I actually speak to a real person. read more

If you're looking for exceptional customer service, a technician who knows how to close the door behind him when he leaves, and intelligent telephone service people, LOOK ELSEWHERE! because you won't find any of these things at Comcast. The technician left my house about 2 hours ago, left the side door of my house wide open after he left despite me asking him to close it (seriously, did you grow up in a barn?), didn't answer my questions, and basically, didn't care about customer service in the least. I had asked them to come to my house today to DOWNGRADE me to basic cable, and I can't wait to get as far away from Comcast as possible. god, there are few things I hate as much as comcast. I wasted a 3hour block 10 days ago for a no-show fix on my cable. My roommate wasted 2-3 hours this week for another no-show and again today they no showed. the bastards even claimed that they called. we live in a townhouse. you can see the couch we're sitting on from the door. I hate liars. They keep claiming they show up so that they don't have to follow through on their "your time is valuable" campaign they are running. God, I wish fios was available here. I have only had Comcast for a week and it has been nothing but issues. It took them 2 weeks to install WIFI and when they did show up it was an hour past their scheduled time. when I called to ask if anyone was coming they said no and tried to reschedule for a third time well on the phone the tech did showed up. They did give me a 20 credit, but when I received my bill I was charged 100.00 for install as well as 14 dollars for something they didn't even do. I wish I could give this place 0 stars.... the most TERRIBLE company I've ever had to work with. Please, if you can help it, avoid comcast... go for Fios (in California, they're great, my parents switched from Comcast for similar problems). So why is Comcast the WORST COMPANY EVER? I will list some of the many reasons: 1. Spotty internet; I constantly have to reset the modem 2. When we had cable, we could NEVER get reception on the main channels during peak hours... just once I wish I could watch Lost or Jamie Oliver's Food Revolution without the TV going in and out every 5 seconds... you literally cannot see or here what is going on (we got rid of cable) 3. Always tons of hidden fees 4. Their customer service reps are INCOMPETENT... EVERY person I've talked to tells me one thing and it never happens (*see below*) or they can't help me and then when I'm talking to them on Comcast Chat they suddenly just leave the chat room in the middle of the conversation! 5. I've had a billing problem now for two weeks which they have yet to solve... I've spoken to three separate representatives, the last one was finally able to "help" me, assured me it would be fixed by Friday... it still is not fixed! They've charged me an additional $50 for no reason (I even spoke to a representative before canceling the cable to make sure I did it by the right date so I would not be charged because we can't afford the increased cable bill this month!) 6. Their interactive chat is useless/people randomly leave the chat in the middle of discussing a problem/I spent almost THREE hours last time in the chat talking to three different people... and THEN... my internet randomly went out and I had to go to a library at 11pm to finish the conversation!! Update 5/23/2016 Yesterday, I drove a half hour out of my way (not a massive inconvenience under normal circumstances, but since I have a sprained ankle and driving hurts, this was a bummer), to the apartment I'm moving into next week. The package (as i suspected it might be) was stolen off the front porch. I just spoke with a woman in customer service, and explained this whole situation. She was extremely sympathetic and helpful, and informed me that she would make sure I get my internet connected without the self-install kit (which she confirmed is just an overpriced instruction manual), and have the charges for the package I never received removed. She also told me that the person who sent all of my stuff out too early, also sent me a modem (I have no idea why, since it says right on my Comcast account that I already have one of their wi-fi router/modem combos at home), so she is also keeping an eye to make sure that I won't be charged for that either. So, even though Comcast has choppy, unreliable service, and a Monopoly on high speed internet in most cities in the U.S., it's good to know that they do have some employees who care more about the customers, than earning a few extra pennies for this company. This customer service rep, and my satisfaction with how she resolved my situation is the only reason I bumped this (otherwise awful) company from a 1 up to a 3. ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- While the person in customer service I spoke to seemed nice/well-meaning, the company is just worthless. I recently called Comcast to transfer my service. I told them I was moving on May 28th. First, they informed me that if I didn't want to pay 50 dollars for a technician to come install my internet (aka - plug in the modem and hook it up to my PS3), I would need to purchase a 15 dollar self-install kit (something I sincerely doubt is necessary), and that it would cost 9 dollars to ship. I ordered the kit (because, they gave me no choice), and they sent it via UPS. It was delivered yesterday....to the place I'm moving into in 8 days! It's just sitting on the porch! When I called to complain, the gentleman I spoke to was text chatting with a supervisor, to ask if I could have another one sent out, in case someone steals the package. The supervisor told him that I would have to pay for another one!!!!! All of this nonsense, on top of the fact that our service (at best) slows down or (at worst) stops working, no less than 4 times a week!!! If there were any high-speed internet alternatives in the city I'm moving to, I would drop Comcast, faster than you can say "worst internet service provider ever". Again, I wish I could give them negative stars. Picking up where my last review left off, I have been waiting for Comcast to call me back to resolve my complaint of my destruction of personal property. I was quoted a 24 hour time frame for when I could hear back from customer service, but no one called. I waited a week, and I even received my first bill from Comcast with no follow up. First off, they billed me for extra things that we didn't even order/receive (i.e. the installation of new outlets/multiple cable boxes). Secondly, they charged me $80 for the installation during which the tech completely stained my carpets, clogged my toilet, and ruined my toilet brush by shoving it in the filled toilet. I called customer service today to follow up, and it was like starting from scratch. The man on the phone wasn't able to give me any answers, as all he could offer me was to send an email to the "field supervisor" who is supposed to call me back within 72 business hours. 72 business hours?!? As in 9 business days? You've got to be kidding me. He credited me the $14 erroneous fee on my account for the extra box that we don't have, but that's it. I told him, truthfully, that we're going to look into satellite service and I'd be calling back to cancel soon, but he seemed unruffled. Oh, and then he tried to sell me home phone service. I've had the X1 Platform for about 4 months now. Have called multiple times a week with different issues since installation. 3rd tech is coming this week to fix yet another issue. So no tv for 3 days, with two kids. I've been more frustrated than satisfied with this service. Example of issues: error code 18, which no representative seems to be able to fix. One of the boxes I have to reboot every time the tv gets turned on in order for the clicker to work. Always a new issue. Don't get it. read more

My experiences with Comcast have been poor and quite upsetting. Matt Varone (matthew_varone@cable.comcast.com), Xfinity Comunications Consultant @ (617) 631-2728 and his manager Keisha x9103 knocked on my door to sell me Comcast. We were just moving in and were deciding which service to purchase. Because they offered us an exceptional deal on the bundled service that includes phone, cable, internet and alarm - we signed a contract on the spot. Installation was an issue for too many reasons to list. It took approximately 2.5 months for us to have working services. The issues that we were never able to solve are two-fold: 1. Collections agencies have been hounding us regarding unpaid bills which we were asked not to pay until the services were installed. 2. The invoices from Comcast have been coming back $85 more per month than the agreed-to signed contract. I have contacted Matt and Keisha numerous times and they ignore my calls and emails. Overall, they have represented the company quite poorly and I am hopeful that this yelp rating makes a difference in my situation and/or with their potential customers. I would give 0 stars if that were possible. The Internet is expensive, only comes bundled with other services, is NEVER as fast as we are paying for and goes out frequently. Plus every time you call Comcast / xfinity to get anything fixed it's a minimum of an hour on the phone and a trip through their automated phone system that makes the labyrinth look like the puzzle on the back of the lucky charms box. So we got our cable and internet hooked up on the 18th, and while the window for the installation was 1-3pm, the technician showed up around 4:30pm. The tech, Brian, was very apologetic for the delay in our service, and made it clear that is was supposed to be someone else, and they were delayed, so he came to help. He was very personable, and okay with Ruby barking a little bit at him, and went out of his way to set up our computer, which normally would cost a fee, but because of the delay, he did it for free. He was with us for about an hour and a half, because he made the calls to figure it all out for us, and also set us up for HBO for like $4 extra a month, versus the normal high rate. Hurray for Cathouse! Yes, cable and internet isn't cheap to begin with, but the customer service is at a high level, which makes it more pleasant to pay the bill each month. read more

My internet works when it wants to, on demand likes to work when I'm not watching, and customer service likes to say unplug everything and plug it back in. Have to reset my modem daily and my cable service is over priced and I can't even order UFC or boxing because I always get error messages. Their on demand service is terrible. Im using Xfinity-on-campus as a university student, and the play back is always distorted and pixelly. It makes any on demand content unwatchable.
