When I acknowledged that I could tell they were annoyed by answering my questions, they said "no we're not" and then the manager and another employee went and hid in the back room when I still had questions. Can I give zero stars? The business sales guy roped me into the worst 6 months of customer service of any business in my life and ghosted me at the first sign of a problem. Said it was "someone else" who had to resolve the problem that he lied to me about. I literally spent over 60 hours and probably more than 30 different phone calls before getting everything resolved. Boylston st chestnut hill this location does not have a phone when i asked why they said it was a corporate office does not look corporate to me. You can not get transferred here thru the 1-800 verizon number either. If you have a problem with your purchased you need to drive back over to the store. I bought a new phone here, didn't really need one but was talked into it I told him I did not want the insurance! when i got home I was notified about the insurance rate going up I tried getting this resolved through the 1-800 number they could not discontinue the insurance and they could not call the store. I ended up having to drive back to the store where the guy said " oh it was continued on your new phone" I told him i did not authorize that and he discontinued it. The workers here are so lazy. Walked into the store over an hour before closing and was turned away because they they said they were "closing in an hour." Since when is that even remotely an excuse for denying someone service. I only needed to be helped for less than 5 minutes to just ring up my purchase, but they still insisted they were closing. I guess you get what you pay for with these type of employees. I would avoid this place like the plague and it has me even considering switching carriers. Had to go to the Back Bay Location twice . I received a new iPhone 14 pro online and the back button kept sticking. Had a second phone sent to me and it would not activate. I was so frustrated and was leaving for vacation to Italy the next day. Went into the Verizon, and manager Danielle Graham was just awesome. She figured out the issue and was able to rectify the problem. My data transferred easily after that and my new cell was activated. read more

We went to the Verizon Store, on Boylston St in Boston, MA, around 1:00 on Sunday. We told the sales rep we wanted two new Samsung Galaxy S6 phones. BUT, we needed their help downloading our photos and videos from our Samsung Galaxy S3 and trackphone. The rep said, "No Problem, we do that all the time!" By 5:00, 3 Verizon reps were STILL trying to ring us up, upsell us on "bundles" of accessories and promising us "big discounts." They claimed they could NOT tell us what discount until we paid for the items. (We bought screen protectors, cordless charges and leather wallet cases, and checked our bill later, but got NO DISCOUNT. The manager explained, the next day, the "discount" only applies to car chargers. All 3 sales reps were WRONG.) They asked us to leave at 5:30, and come back in an hour or so, so they could download the photos and videos from my old phone to my new one. We returned at 6:30 & the Verizon store was closed. The rep half opened the door, one foot on the sidewalk, and handed me my phone and bill. He said I could check my new phone pics, but confidently assured me they were all there. I felt VERY RUSHED, scanned my photo folders and saw them all. So, I signed my bill and left. At home, 2 blocks away, I discovered my photo folders were mostly EMPTY! Frank's phone was missing most of his photos and videos too. We called the Verizon store, but they would not pick up the phone. We left a desperate message begging them not to erase our two phones, which we left with them for an exhange credit on our Verizon bill. They called in the morning, claiming our phones were deleted. I went to Verizon, crying to SEAN, the manager, that my priceless memories were gone. He found BOTH our phones & neither were deleted! The REP LIED TO US. Sean spent MOST OF MONDAY transferring our data and teaching me about my phone. He told me to always request him, in future, and turned a 1STAR REVIEW to a 4 STAR ONE. SEAN deserved a BIG RAISE! I used to by all my iPhones and accessories here. NOT ANYMORE. I purchased a glass screen protector here about 1-1/2 years ago. The representative told me the warranty covers breakage and bubbling for life. I was told I didn't have to mail anything in, that the warranty is in the computer, just come in for a replacement if ever it needs replacement. It broke a couple of weeks ago and I went in to get the replacement. Surprise, surprise, I was informed there wasn't any warranty. So I went to the Verizon store in Watertown Ma. The rep told me I could buy one for $40. The rep said there was a warranty in the box. After installing the screen she threw the box out. I asked her about the warranty. She then put it in the computer. She said I'm all set and if it ever bubbles or cracks bring it in for a replacement. I asked for a printed copy after explaining my last experience with the Verizon at 745 Boylston Street, Boston. She said there wasn't a print option. I took a screen shot with my phone but I am not hanging my hat on the thought of getting it replaced there when needed. 7/30/19 I had to go to my new Verizon store in Watertown yesterday because my glass screen protector cracked. Everything was handled as promised. They replaced the screen and didn't charge me any money. It solidifies my impression of the experience I had with the Boylston Street Store. I was unhappy with the consistency of my 75 Mps internet and wifi service thru Verizon - and ended up paying several hundred bucks for Verizon routers and an installation visit to upgrade to 300 Mps. It was still unreliably slow at times. That's a problem if you need Internet and email for your work. I got a post card from RCN - offering new service packages of 500 Mps. I ordered a package - the guy came the next day - put it all in. The boxes are smaller and neater - it works great - was cheaper and had more features. I then went to cancel my Verizon. It was a Saturday. I tried online - there is no way to cancel your Verizon Internet Service - on line. I got involved in a chat on-line with a service person. They can't/won't do it for you - you have to talk to "a retention specialist" on the phone. They gave me the number to call. I called and got a robot. The service is not available on the weekend. I called a Verizon store near me - about returning the boxes and cancelling my service. You can return the boxes, but not until you have cancelled the service - and they can't cancel your service at the store. Today's Saturday. Monday's Labor Day and so they won't be open until Tuesday. This is why people hate their cable/Internet providers. read more

I went in and gave my name to be added on the waiting list, with two people in from of me. It took over 40 minutes for me to be seen. By that time I don't get approached by "hi you're the next person in line".... I get approached by "have you been helped". To which I replied, you took my name over half an hour ago. Then he looks at his list waiting list and it's empty, which obviously meant he hadn't actually put my name in. The meat of the problem was actually in how useless and rude this guy was. I had cracked my phone screen so I asked the usual questions. How much does it cost, how long does it take, and more towards upgrading my phone. He only gave one word responses. Either in dollar amount or just yes or no and there was no eye contact and at best an inaudible mumble!!!!! But he was happy to sing Christmas songs in the middle of our conversation at a nice loud volume. He then told me that an iPhone 11 was $699. I asked again because I wasn't sure of what I heard, so instead of words I get his iPad shoved in my face with the calculator app with the amount!!!!! I should have actually taken him up on it but was too frustrated by his attitude at that time. Our final interaction was a long blank look and.... have a nice day. Now this was his behavior with me. He basically scared the costumer before me by telling her that her current phone costs $100 and if she's thinking of not buying insurance for the iPhone 11 that she was hoping to buy (which he described as "the most expensive phone we have") then she's making a mistake. Poor girl got cold feet and walked off! Please Verizon, fix your customer service, it's embarrassing, and customers like us who know you're already over priced but can't help but to buy your products... should at least feel good after giving you our money! read more

Still having problems, and now I learned that Verizon is NOT expanding FIOS in other cities, and that is no surprise to me. I never have great experiences at cell phone stores, so I am not surprised when I see cell phone retailers with low reviews; however, I had a great experience yesterday and felt it was worth the shout-out. I had a terrible experience at the Apple store yesterday trying to upgrade my cell phone. Long story short, I ended up canceling my Apple order and walked the block down the street to see if they could do an upgrade. I didn't have an appointment, but it is not required. The associate I worked with, Cindy, could not have been more helpful. I was a little flustered after the awful customer service I received at Apple, and Cindy was extremely patient with me while I was resolving some issues with an almost-botched upgrade. Not once did I feel like she was being inconvenienced, and she did not pressure me on any additional features/upgrades that I didn't want. I told her generally I don't have good experiences at cell phone stores, but she really helped and made my day. We need more people like Cindy staffing these stores! read more

You know.... after seeing so many bad reviews from others on this location, I should probably thank my lucky stars. I've had nothing but good experiences from my 3 visits here. First visit, I wanted to get the new Droid X. They didn't have any, but a few of them behind the counter went out of their way to find a location that had one in New Hampshire (which I Yelped about already because of the drop-dead gorgeous yet very helpful Megan Fox that happened to work there) Second visit, I had to get a new case, software update for said Droid X (cuz the piece of $%@* wouldn't do it properly on its own), and a longer-lasting battery. I was helped by Ryan, and then, for the more technical stuff, Lamar. These guys were totally awesome, Ryan wasn't able to solve the problem at hand, but he did spend time trying before going to uber techie Lamar, who was handsdown one of the most helpful, funny, and knowledgeable guys I've ever met. Now my phone works, the new battery us uber superbad (as in good), and I love LOVE the new phone cover/case he recommended over the bulky Cadillac one I used to have. Oh, and he convinced me to stay with the more expensive phone plan I was on for some of the benefits I didn't realize I had (including saving 20% off the batter and case I just got). Third visit, Lamar showed me the new tablet... thingy.... you know... the thing that looks like the iPad mini-me. Lamar (again) walked me through it, let me watch a movie sample (which reminds me... go get Ironman 2 as a stocking stuffer), play a few uber games, and explain why this was so much better than the 10-commandment-stone-sized iPad. All in all, great service, and I'm glad I switched to Verizon. read more

Went in today to pick up a few accessories. WOAH - insta headache!! They are PUMPING cologne into the store. (The general manager confirmed this for me when I spoke to him) On a serious note, anyone with asthma or breathing issues should seriously not go in this store. It is a HUGE health hazard in that respect. Now, onto service. My rep was friendly, maybe too much. I think it's their thing now to stick with you the whole time you're in there and follow you around. I get it, but it made me feel uncomfortable. Especially since my rep was unable to check inventory for me , which resulted in a 20+ minute wait just to find out they didn't have what I wanted. This resulted in a very awkward 20 minutes with this guy (albeit nice) following me around. Overall, I get the idea but I think it's poorly executed. I think this Verizon Wireless location is all right. They have a decent selection of phones to browse, and will let you alone to explore them if you let them know you don't want help yet. Once you're ready to make a purchase, you go through a weird process where you tell the person with the tablet at the front door your name, and they add you to a virtual queue. When an associate is ready to help you, they call your name and your transaction begins. Our associate was really good about getting us the phones we wanted. My husband was interested in a phone model but concerned about its size, so the associate retrieved one from the back and let him try it in his pocket. What was annoying was that when he came back with the phones, he'd also taken the liberty of adding a ton of accessories and seemed floored when we didn't want to buy them all. Frankly, Verizon does not have good prices on cell accessories, so we're not going to load up on them there. I suspect they get more commission for the accessories than for the phone, based on how hard he pushed them. The associate opened up the phones for us and activated them. He transferred my husband's contacts, since he was switching platforms, and was again a little pushy with me when I said I preferred to do that at home myself (I went from an iPhone 4 to a 5 and knew my MacBook could easily do the update). All in all, the purchase process took a good 30-40 minutes once we decided what we wanted to buy. On the plus side, everything was transacted from a tablet, which meant we could walk around the store while we checked out. So, Verizon Wireless. It's ok. read more

I walked in to buy a $300 phone ...I walked out with nothing in absolute disgust. You would think they would want an easy commission but no these incompetent d bags literally drove me out of the store. I knew I wanted a new 4G phone but I had to decide between the Charge and the Revolution. The grease ball who I had the misfortune to get did not know anything about the Rev -- So I had to look up what he should know online. A lady came in after me and was led to the same section I was in - as she was making the same decision as me. We discussed the cost and benefits of each phone and I decided on the Samsung. I told the same guy I had talked to that I made my mind up and was ready to check out. DB "oh yeah uh I have to put your name back in the system and we will have someone help you when its your turn" Me: "yeah it is my turn, you told me once I was ready to talk to you ..not to get back in line" DB: " I started helping this lady so you have to get put back into the system, its first come first serve" Me: "And I was here first" DB: " What I'm gonna wait fifteen minutes for you?? no Im gonna go get other people" Keep in mind the lady he was now "helping" was literally doing the exact same thing I was. I would have left right then if I did not need a new phone by tomorrow, and I figured at least that guy would not be getting my commission. DB then proceed to explain his douchebagery to another sales guy. I jumped in and said guys I'm ready to buy this phone can you go get it for me? they ignored me .. finally the new guy looks up my info and says its gonna be an extra $20 bc/my update's in a few months ... fine ....get my phone....... I have been a customer of Verizon's for 11 years. Unfortunately after dealing with the complete D Bags at this location my love affair with Verizon may be over. I am from Chicago and was on a vacation in Boston when my phone broke. No, I did not break it, it was a phone defect (3rd "defect" in 2 months with the same phone). After being at this horrendous store for 2.5 hours I left without a working phone but a promise that my phone would be overnighted to my hotel at the expense of this particular store. Mind you, the idiots at this store managed to freeze my account so I had to call the shipping warehouse myself. Cut to me on the phone with VZW CS right now trying to get the $20.00 charge off my bill. The call center rep is on the phone with the store right now and guess who is claiming they have no idea what I am talking about?! THIS STORE! (The CS rep I am speaking with, on the other hand, is amazing!) I really hope Verizon gets its shit together and overhauls the entire staff at this store and starts from scratch. After a year and half with my endangered species Palm Pre Plus, I was ready for something with a slightly longer battery life. Phone upgrade to the rescue! I was already in Back Bay on some Sunday afternoon errands, so ducking into the Boylston Street store made sense (the current two-and-a-half-star rating... not so much). I checked in at one of the terminals in the front, and my name was called a mere two minutes later; I barely had time to awkwardly pick up and put down items I wasn't actually interested in. My sales guy, Daniel, gave me some of the best customer service I've ever had -- talking me through the features of my new iPhone, spending time taking all the bubbles out from under the protective film he recommended (did you know Best Buy charges $15 for that?!), managing to get all my contacts swapped over through some sort of magical USB alchemy, setting up my email accounts and showing me how to password protect my new toy (going from a POS phone to a prime target for theft, I'm now slightly paranoid). The whole process was completely smooth and painless. I left with (1) an iPhone 4, (2) gloves that let you use the touch screen while keeping your hands warm [which I have since returned because they didn't actually keep my hands warm], and (3) a song in my heart. read more

Wow, I am a little shocked by the bad stories, because I went in a few weeks ago on my own to set up a family plan for Jesse and I, and have nothing but great things to say about Verizon, and the service that we both received. The main reason that we needed to combine and I was in need of a new phone was because with T-Mobile I don't get consistent cell phone service at all, and I had zero bars of service AT my father in law's house, which was the site of our wedding. Big problem. I am still contracted with T-Mobile for another month, but I am going to be thrilled when I can chuck my phone that I have with them. T-Mobile also claimed it was my phone, but I'd had two other phones with them, with the same service issues. I worked with a gentleman who was lovely (who was perhaps named Matt-I can't remember for sure) who was really helpful, directed me to a phone that would help me out the most, and also set up a plan that would combine Jesse's current account with mine, which we were just setting up. It took a little bit of time to get it all set, but they also transferred all my T-Mobile contacts to my new phone, which was nice. Jesse came in after I left on his lunch break to pick out his phone, and had an equally pleasant experience. I told Matt ahead of time that Jesse would be in a bit of a hurry, and they got him in and out in no time with a fancy new phone. He walked out thrilled and so did I. AND, I get service everywhere I go, which is something I can't say about my old service with T-Mobile. read more

I've been there numerous times in the last year. They are lazy and depending on who you talk to you get a different answer. It's rare they answer the phone and on one visit they only had 1 iPhone X in stock. The iPhone 11 is already out so it isn't like the demand is too high. I have gone here in order to get a phone, but after my treatment decided against it. I've been several times just to make sure I wasn't hallucinating, but after 5 times now I have not once been asked if I could be helped, while others (only the older folks) who walked in behind me were swarmed.
