#1 in Customer dissatisfaction! Quite the accolades to boast about. At least by Consumer Affairs 1.6/5 out of 516 reviews. Visiting this store does not help their cause. I learned in two visits the disparity in their philosophy between xfinity.com and local store employees. Regarding high-speed internet: At the store they ask our address and supply a quote for the Blast broadband internet at$79.99 for 150 MB/s. Online we are quoted the same price in our residential area for the Blast Pro at $79.99 for 250MB/s. When we asked why the difference, the salesperson said when we complete the online quote, that it will add $30 per month. Being that our research had already steered us in a better price direction, we went through the process on phone in front of him to establish that the price does not inflate an additional $30, the manager came around and said 2 things: he said it's really not going to give us up to 250 MB, and after our rebuttal, he then said he did not believe their website was quoting us the 'right' price, as opposed to their on-site database. As I went to gather our kids and my wife was closing the discussion, the original salesperson try to keep us around by admitting that he was wrong, and that the price was ACTUALLY $15 more from them per month, not $30. We denied that offer as well and opted for the online price. We have already seen all of the hoopla regarding Comcast winning the Golden Poo award for "Worst Company in America" for 2 years in a row (beating out the genetically modified products company, Monsanto/Miracle-Gro), but they have yet to earn our trust back on a personal level. They have a phenomenal opportunity to show us they care within the local market, but their lack of outreach and accountability continues to bury their already tattered reputation. After waiting on hold for 1/2 hour with Comcast I decided it would be better use of my time to make an appointment with the store in Riverpark to discuss my bill. I made an appointment for 9:30 a.m. on July 4. I got an automated reminder from xfinity reminding me of my appointment time of 9:30 a.m. It even says they are ready for me... I arrived at 9:22 and guess what is on the door? A sign stating they adjusted their hours and instead of opening at 9:00 a.m. they are opening today at 10:00. Really? A phone call would've been nice or an email! So here I am waiting. I have never once had a good customer service experience with Comcast and here I go... UPDATE: I asked the manager directly why they scheduled an appointment for a time that they aren't open and didn't they check their calendar before deciding to modify their hours (this is a fair question) and she gave me a very insincere rather rude apology with a snicker and walked away. Basically couldn't give a hoot. On a separate note I was "awarded" a whopping $20 off my $260 monthly bill, not by the rude/indifferent manager. I honestly hate giving negative reviews... but here goes nothing... We have been in this location on several occasions over the years. The customer service is deplorable. We have had their service for quite a long time with internet and cable. The time we dealt with customer service over the phone was expected with playing games. When we came in to this location for previous cable service, they charged so many hidden fees. Our most recent trips to this location involved switching cell phone service to Xfinity cell service which does have very competitive rates. Ordered two phones, one arrives and we head in to this location to activate phone service. We called ahead to see if they had another phone, iPhone 8 plus, in stock to swap for the other ordered phone. They said they did have one in stock. We show up and three employees including the Manger, Daren, were helping one customer. A fourth employee was at the back of the store texting on his phone (could have been internet browsing and possibly looking for other jobs). We were literally the only other customers aside from the one girl who was being helped by the three employees. A fifth employee eventually came out from the back to assist with porting over my number. Long story short, they didn't have the phone in stock. We confronted the employee about calling in to confirm and he said they don't have a direct line to the store and it was impossible to reach the store directly. The manager came up and said he didn't take the call and walked away instead of dealing with the situation. Called to disconnect service on behalf of someone who recently passed away. I was told that I had to visit a store in person and present a death certificate. I couldn't believe what I was hearing. I said, "hey, the subscriber is never going to watch tv again, they're never going to see a cable bill and they're not going to pay you guys." The company tried to slow the disconnect process down and offer/sell their services. You can only remain calm for so long before you simply start yelling..."just turn off the f'ing service." I got my confirmation email that I applied for services but never received an email confirming I was approved or that they would be shipping me my box. I have placed 2 calls with Xfinity, both over 25 minutes without any live person picking up the phone and one of the calls disconnecting after 27 minutes! I tried their live chat twice and that service is a serious joke. Unless you like having to retype your request over and over again with someone in India or the Philippines that aren't understanding what you are communicating. I called in and ordered a new iPhone and got a discount on my internet service for signing up with mobile. So I thought. These horrible corporate problems/nightmare shit employees had me on the phone for an hour and a half telling me that the deal I got was no longer available. Wow. I feel bad putting this review on a specific outlet. My problem isn't with this store. It's with Xfinity as a company. I despise their automated voice answering system. It takes me a minimum of 3 (today it was 4) phone calls to get to a LIVE HUMAN. My review is based on my experience as an xfinity customer over the last 5 years. It's rather unfortunate that xfinity seems to be the main option, considering their customer service is ATROCIOUS. You get "Jason" the guy at the call center in India who can't figure out your tech issue so he spends the next 20 minutes trying to convince you to schedule a tech appt. NO. The tech was JUST out here and there's no service issue, it's your equipment! When we signed up we only opted for internet. Our package price was $29.99 and we couldn't have been happier. We've always owned our own equipment, we never rent. After our 1 year promotion expired, our monthly bill went up to $69.95!! Worst mobile experience ever in my life. Told Apple Phones were free, no contracts etc as a new customer with a BYOD deal... not true. Was in a 2 year contract, with payments, charged $483 in overages (I was on a pay by the gig plan and never left the house) this specific phone was for my 12 year old special needs kid who is on life support, and he turned off the WIFI on accident. I tried to unlock the phone and 3 times after calling and going to the store - after paying the phones off, the phones were not unlocked.... It's been a nightmare. Morning of the appointment received a text telling us the tech was in route. We opened our living room curtains so we could see when the technician arrived, received a text saying the technician was here and would be with us in the moment but there was no truck outside, no knock at the door, nothing. Wonderful service and helped us keep our plan that was no longer available for new accounts. Second time, today, Stephon helped me make changes to the account and was able to lower our monthly payment significantly! He was also friendly, professional, and helpful. I've been with Comcast for 27 yrs and have learned to call for what I need and use the store only to pickup/drop off equipment. Chris in this store will not check-in check-out equipment in the system, so I have on three separate occasions had to call Xfinity to enable/provision equipment when he should have done his job. I can't recommend this provider to any college student at all! I have been with them for less than a month now and my service hasn't been working well if at all. One evening it completely broke off, and I was not able to turn in my work. When i contacted Comcast they did not seem to care at all. The incident happened on a Monday and they did not offer to send anyone out till Thursday so basically they did not care about me, my college or that I was not able to do any of my college work. The store is great. The company management of technicians to serve in homes is another story. Messaged our tech to his own phone as directed regarding a box not having any connection to wifi. It was his day off. He called the next morning and we made arrangements for after 10. Around 4 he messaged me that dispatch would not let him do any follow up calls that day. I messaged him the next morning and he asked dispatch. It is now 1:20 and he's not here. Told him if he didn't make it today I would complain about dispatch. This other lady that works there with the black nose ring was rude and gave me attitude and basically just wanted to get me out of there and wanted me to fill out a fraud form when fraud on my account wasn't even the problem. The worst. 5 calls (said they would call back and didn't) and 2 trips down to the store I got my equipment. Went to self install and learned that they gave me the equipment without checking if there was wiring to my house (it is a new build) - found out the hard way, there wasn't. Called the service line and made an appointment - waited 2 days for it. Took time off of work and the day of, received updates that they were on time and on the way. No one showed. An hour past my "window" I called to see where they were... only to be told the technician couldn't find the house - so I was rescheduled to the afternoon. Frustrated, I asked to speak to a supervisor. After several attempts to transfer me I finally got a supervisor who told me that I didn't have an afternoon appointment... I was cancelled when they couldn't find my house and they couldn't come for 2 more days. I argued, pleaded and tried to appeal but he could not help me, didn't care and did not fix the issue. Xfinity is the big player of internet service providers and apparently does not care about treating customers well... because there are just more. It's totally appalling and I'm going to look for another provider who values people and their time - I don't care if it's more expensive, it's the point. My review is a bit of both the store and my Internet performance. I took my router in a week ago because of my Internet being slow/weak so I called customer service and they told me to do this. Well upon arrival I was met by a woman of very little words and only answered with a one word vocabulary. Pretty much slave off the vibe that she didn't want to be there and I was wasting her time.
