The staff were really friendly and more than happy to make the tea the way I like it. The owner was also very chatty - more than happy to take some time off for a bit of a talk. Okay, it wasn't hugely busy at the time, but it was still a pretty nice place to sit and relax. There was a small selection of cakes and rolls, and he also had the types of tea that I particularly like. Certainly a place to come and visit again if I happen to be up around Whittlesea. Oh, even though the cafe itself is fairly small, it does have that nice atmosphere about it.

The highlights of the course are the beautifully grassed fairways. Be warned that it is a long walk around and can be very hot in summer. It is often a long way from green to the next tee and a cart might be in order if you are playing in the heat or if you struggle up hills. It is probably the best of the public access courses north of city. You might need to check the course if there is heavy rain. We arrived after a nightime storm and the creek that runs through the course was over the fairways and the course was closed.

Anyway, I decided to grab a coffee and some cake and sit outside in the warm summer air. The coffee wasn't bad, and they certainly had a nice selection of cakes. Called them (as we'd already travelled 15 mins home) and queried what I had and was told that is lamb off the spit, mince lamb off the spit, I reiterated how terrible it was and since when ever has there been mince lamb off the spit, I've never ever heard of or seen this anywhere, and the answer I got was "oh, you wanted real lamb?" - what other sort is there!!! He kept insisting that was a proper lamb kebab, just not real lamb (???). Regardless it tasted like horrible hamburgers chopped up in the kebab. Two whole kebabs straight in the bin, will not be going back!

The food is delicious and everything you'd expect from a high end Thai restaurant packed into a tiny little shop in the northern suburbs. I've taken kids here before and they seemed to love it just as much as the adults. The staff are friendly and actually have a chat and a laugh with you. The prices are very reasonable considering the quality and you can eat in or take away. I hear they do a delivery service but I've never used it. Hopefully it's true because sometimes the best way to enjoy Thai is having a floor picnic at home and watching a movie. Plenty of parking near by and it gets busy but never loud. Good for a quick dinner with the missus or even a night with friends.
