Don't let this place sneak away from you! This massage spa is a hidden little gym discreetly located on a small corner in the town of Basalt. It's nothing fancy, not over promoted, and doesn't have all the feng shui the larger spas have; but what it does have is fantastic pricing ($105 for a 90 minute massage!) And best of all they give an outstanding massage. I am only in Basalt once or twice a year but I'm sure to stop here for a massage each and every visit. The staff are respectful and friendly and I guarantee they will put you to sleep during your massage. We are most places I have to go back several times to get the kinks out this spa always seems have have my body feeling fantastic the next day! I really enjoyed my massage here. It is significantly less money than any other place, yet, I felt the quality was really good. If you are going for the purpose of relaxing and enjoying a vacation, I highly recommend. If you are going for therapeutic purposes or for an injury, probably not the best place. The rooms were clean, the woman was kind and thorough, and I felt very comfortable. We decided we will definitely be fitting in a massage in all future aspen trips. Popped in for a quick 30 minute foot massage while my husband got a haircut and was very satisfied with my service by Hannah. No, it was not the most comprehensive reflexology session I've ever had but it was not advertised as reflexology. It was just a very relaxing foot massage with elements of reflexology. They lay you down, cover you with a towel, cover your eyes and rub your feet and up to your knees with lotion. It relaxed and refreshed me for the rest of my day! Hannah is sweet and excellent. Scary! Was surprised to easily get a massage appointment, literally as soon as I called. Was ready for the lack of ambience, but not the dirt and filth. I was shown to a room, and told to undress and get under a towel. When I moved the towel there was dirt, hair, grass, and blood stains. The blood stain had penetrated to the pad. They changed the sheet and towel, but not the pad... so I left my panties on... should have left then. Next the massage started, not impressive, but at least it was a massage. The woman then farted and the room started to stink. She left yo use the bathroom (fine, totally get that), but you can hear everything and she did not wash her hands before returning to massage me!!! The massage was mediocre. In the end I was so disgusted. I used a sanitary wipe. I paid for the massage but was not going to tip (harsh? Yes, but I felt like I needed a shower). When I paid she demanded a tip!!! read more

First off, it is important to note that this is not a luxurious spa, nor is it trying to be. If it were a luxury spa you'd be paying at least 3xs the price. That being said, this place is doing an excellent job of being what it is (thus the 5 star rating from me). This is a relatively low-price, deep tissue, Asian style massage. My husband and I went in for the 1-hour body massage. $60 each. We just happened to be sight seeing so we walked in. Boy our massages were great. We get massages at least twice a month at home and both of us enjoyed these massages. Good firm pressure, nice pace. $60 well-spent! read more

Let me begin by saying I am a licensed massage therapist and this is hands down the worst, most unprofessional and probably illegal spa operation I have ever been to. For starters, when I first got there for my full body massage, the women directed me to a room in which there was only a small towel on the table to drape myself with. Not to mention there was long black strands of hair surrounding the face cradle, which makes me assume the sheets were not even washed from the prior massage. Once I undressed and attempted to cover myself on the table, the women therapist entered the room and immediately ripped the towel right off me. She told me I needed to take my underpants off, which I absolutely refused. She sighed as if she was annoyed with me. I knew at that moment I should of gotten up and walked out but I was too nervous for some reason. She proceeded to begin the 'massage' by violently shaking my body from head to toe. She spent long periods of time fiddling around with my underpants and massaging WAY TOO CLOSE to my private areas. She abruptly whipped my head from side to side when working on my neck, instead of using gently movements like every massage therapist learns in school. Yet clearly these women never went to any form of official American massage institute. Towards the end I was practically in tears and straight up told her she needs to be more gentle. She said "oh sorry" and continued to whip my body parts around very disrespectfully. She basically grinded on every bony landmark I have leaving me bruised and in severe pain. Once she had me turn over on my back, she began to rub my head so hard to the point I thought my hair follicles were going to rip right off. After my head, she proceeded to try and start massaging my stomach and eventually touched in between my exposed breasts which is when I let her know we were DONE. After she left the room and I put my clothes on, I walked out and the other woman got right in my face and sarcastically said, "ohhh.. too hard for you?" with a smirk on her face as I heard my therapist laughing in the back room. I told her "yes, way too violent, I really didn't appreciate that." I have never felt so violated and assaulted in my entire life. I do not believe these women have the credentials to be conducting body work in the United States and absolutely need to be shut down and essentially deported. If anything, I even believe these women are conducting inappropriate massages for males, if you know what I mean. They were most likely annoyed that young white girl came to their operation for a normal massage, god forbid. Regardless, this place is incredibly disgusting, unprofessional and will hopefully be put out of business sooner than later. DO NOT GO THERE!!!! read more

After reading recent reviews, I wasn't sure if I would get the same treatment as last time. However, my foot massage was excellent. I think the biggest problem may be that Basalt attracts a lot of racist and entitled white people who are not as familiar with reflexology and are expecting a Swedish massage and total privacy. That's not the case at least with the foot massage. The techniques are excellent and are those of reflexology and occur in a relatively open but relaxing space that is also quiet and dark. There may be temporary interruptions of phone or inperson inquiries but they were brief and nominal and the price is right. read more

Xin Yu provides excellent, outstanding reflexology massage for an incredibly reasonable price. An hour-long foot massage --which, besides the foot focus, includes massage of legs, arms, head, neck and back--is $35. This was my first professional foot massage, and I have no complaints or critical feedback to offer. It was absolutely fantastic. I felt completely relaxed and relieved afterward. The one thing i wonder about is the fact that the two massage beds are in the same room; the room, by the way, was very relaxing, dimly lit, and warm. When i had my foot massage, there was no other client present, but a customer did enter in order to purchase a massage for future use. I wonder what it would be like to have a full body massage here? I assume that clothes are not removed for them. If you are okay with less privacy and expert technique and professionalism, definitely pay Xin Yu a visit. read more
