Hi. Um. Okay. So... yeah. I came in around 11:00 pm because…read moreI was, you know, trying to see if there was live music or, like, a vibe. Not drunk. Not loud. Just standing there. Hydrated. Existing. At first it was cool. I met a couple of young guys. Super nice. Totally normal human interaction. We talked. It was fine. No problems. Excellent. Then they left. And, uh... yeah. Everything got weird. Like... record scratch weird. No bartender came over. No eye contact. No "hey man, what can I get you?" Just a lot of standing and looking past me like I was a ghost or maybe a very calm ghost. I tried to make casual conversation, because that's what people do in bars. And suddenly the room felt tense. Like I had accidentally walked into a staff meeting or a crime scene. At some point it hit me. Oh. They think I'm a cop. Not because I did anything. But because I was standing upright. And sober. And aware. Which, apparently, after 11 pm here is suspicious behavior. For the record, I am not law enforcement. I am just a guy who is cold and trying to hear music. I wasn't kicked out. I wasn't served. I was just... ignored. Like if they pretended I didn't exist long enough, I might fade away. So I left. Nothing dramatic happened. It was just awkward. Uncomfortable. And kind of impressive in a sad way. I walked into a bar and accidentally became a vibe check the place failed itself. This might work great for regulars or a younger crowd earlier in the night. But if you are a grown adult who knows how to behave in public, you may suddenly find yourself labeled "possibly undercover." Party on. I guess.

I also didn't get my food and the waitresses didn't even want to take my order. 1/5 stars for this place!! P.S if 0 stars was an option that's what this place would get

I pulled up and there was a woman a bit to tipsy to drive, and a bartender came out insisting she call an uber and made sure she got home okay, so they have my respect for that great first impression. They only have 3 things on the menu: burger, hotdog, and Doritos nachos. I ordered the burger and it was pretty good. Honestly, no notes. I'll be back.

I've given Rockwall Tavern more than enough chances, but the vibe has been the same every time:…read morecold, unwelcoming, and dismissive -- from the bar staff all the way up to ownership. It's never felt like a place that values new faces or fresh energy, and that's a missed opportunity. As for karaoke nights, it's no secret there's an inner circle. If you're not part of it, good luck. Despite signing up early and showing up ready to contribute to the night, I've consistently been pushed back or overlooked. It's hard to ignore when the same familiar faces keep rotating through while others wait endlessly. The karaoke host (yes, you know who you are) makes it clear who's in and who's out. If you're confident, talented, or don't "fit the clique," don't expect fair treatment. Some people protect their spotlight at the expense of others -- and that's exactly what happens here. It's unfortunate, because karaoke should be about building a vibe, not gatekeeping one. It's no wonder the place was dead last Saturday. Places that don't grow community eventually lose it. I'm speaking up not out of hate, but because I believe people deserve to know the truth -- and Rockwall deserves better than what this spot currently offers.

You may be wondering how the biggest 214 snob in Dallas found herself at Bake's in Terrell. I am…read morealso a bit mystified but since I went to a house party in Forney it isn't that much of a stretch to think I'd want to go to a dive bar nearby. I rode along with my friends to Bake's with no idea what to expect except that there would be dancing involved. We pulled up to a windowless dive with a set of "rules" posted on the door. One of those is that you must be fully clothed at all times. WOW what kind of place is this? Is this something that happens so much in there that they had to specify you should keep your clothes on? We walked in and had to get carded and hand stamped and pay $5 cover. COVER? WTF! But hey, it was only $5. The chick taking the $$ clearly didn't read the front door because she was wearing a slutty Santa outfit and it didn't cover a whole lot of skin. When you get inside you see rows of tables in front of you, bar to the left against the wall, a dance floor to your right, and on the other side of the dance floor it appeared to be pool tables. We got some beer and the BF announced that they were some pretty pricey beers for a dive but I am not sure exactly how much they were. I was entertained by the music selections the DJ was rocking - there would be nasty gangster rap followed by some two-stepping worthy country music. Random alert!! This place was A-OK though for the people watching. Let me tell you, Terrell clearly has no shortage of characters. People ranged in age from 18 to about 75 and were dressed in everything from gangster chic to douchey Ed Hardy to cowboy boots and hats. I danced with a cowboy that must have been in his 70s who managed to get low low low low low low low and then dance his way on back to a standing position. He's been working on that move! Another little dude grinding on his GF so much that one of our friends said "He's gonna rub his little peter off!" hahahahaha And a chick coming out of the bathroom that I sweartagod I thought was a dude. DOH! You could spend an entire evening in this place just for the people watching and I highly recommend you do so. I imagine that this is one of the most happening places in Terrell so if you find yourself out there get some slightly overpriced beers and watch the show. Just keep your clothes on!!
