Rose City Draft House and Bar this place is completely trash. That whole establishment is filled with rude ass people. I was at The booze and bourbon event this week. I won a bottle of bourbon and we opened it at the venue. After we left we went to rose city in an Uber. I had the bottle of bourbon in a concealed bag. I went up to the bar to order a drink and one of the bar tenders reaches inside MY BAG pulls the bottle and keeps it. Like stfu for real? That's gotta be a joke lol. read more

Look I understand it's a pandemic and I hate giving places bad reviews due to current circumstances. But this place is awful and I'm surprised it's survived this long. The service was awful. Simply terrible. We walked in around 3/4pm and the bartender didn't even make eye contact let alone say hello to us. We flagged him down to get beers and he just grunted at us and asked us if we wanted to start a tab. That's literally all he said to us the entire time we were here, which was about two hours. The decor is so generic, this is like a college bar without a college. Everything on the walls is from the beers they promote -- this place has zero personality. Trash bar with trash bartenders. Witnessed a male bartender throw a cup of water at a female as she was leaving the bar to head to the patio. She splashed her beer at him in return & then walked outside. He literally ran after her, grabbed her by the neck and threw her onto the patio picnic table. All of this because she apparently poured a cup of water into the spill trough on the bar. Dude was at least 6'4 and she was maybe 5'4 & 120 lbs. The other employees were having to hold him back because he was so enraged. Someone might want to check on his wife/girlfriend. The bartender was standing 5 feet away cutting limes. He completely ignored us! No hello, no f$&k off, nothing. He then went and checked the 4 people at the bar, came around to wash glasses looking right at us. Still nothing. Rudest and worst service I have had in 47 years of killing time in beer joints. We really enjoyed the wide variety of patrons, from the college crowd to the elderly couple dressed to impress, everyone was greeted with a smile and found something behind the bar to enjoy. There was a great mix-up of musical styles playing through out our visit, and it was just the right volume to enjoy, yet was not loud enough to be over bearing during our conversations. The prices in this place were very, very reasonable,I was truly surprised. My drink is a double scotch on the rocks with a splash of Fuji water, I do not drink anything less than top shelf when my wife and I get out, and at $13.50 a glass for my usual is by far the best price I have ever paid! Shane was my first bartender at 21 and I've never left this bar. He makes the best mixed cocktails I've ever had and is always intuitive to my taste. I can ask for a flavor and he has a drink sitting in front of me ice cold, delicious, and ready for me. The first and best bartender I've ever had. Had a great time at their backyard party. Bring your lawn chairs because seating is limited to a few picnic tables. Really good bands. Cover gets 2 draws. Backyard party is family and pet friendly. Taco truck staged out front with really good tacos. Try their Polycarp IPA and Mermaids & Unicorns. Good brews, good times. Located in an older section of Tyler off Glenwood. Tyler's first legitimate craft beer depot. With 57 taps, I noticed a good selection of most styles with the exception of cider. The prices range from $4-5 per pint, which although not as good as "free beer" it's more bang for your buck than BJ's. Ample seating inside with more than enough TV's to not have a bad seat. The outside patio/pergola looks like a winner on a nice day. The two female bartenders I chatted with were friendly and very knowledgeable about their products. Not limited to just beer, Rose City is also a full service bar. A friend said her Moscow Mule was awesome. No food is served or prepared on site, but you can bring in just about anything you want. Dominos is located 50 feet away and will deliver. As will Jimmy John's. I dig a local business and really hope Rose City does well. A couple humble suggestions for the proprietor to consider: Add a cider to the menu, lots of people dig them. Offer a bar munchie, even something as simple as popcorn or nuts. BuzzTime Trivia. I really, really want to love this place. The beer selection is great and the bar is clean and organized. But, the vibe is just... weird. The staff seems very lackadaisical -- unmotivated and unmoved to ensure the patrons have a good time. They play the music they want to hear, seemingly unable to read into a swelling crowd and adjust the volume or anything -- cracking jokes amongst themselves. And it's always 90s, always. Ok, just Ok. Is the best way to describe this place. Dark, quiet, not all that interesting. Big variety of draft beer was a win. Outside covered patio was nice. If you close your eyes and think of an average bar in anywhere america. This is it. I don't believe they offered food either which is strange considering there is plenty of gross profit to be had there and it usually contributes to further drink consumption. Staff was nice, but since the only offering is a list of 3-4 TV monitors on the wall with the beer list, I'm not sure how they could be more accommodating, as there isn't anything else for them to offer other than " What do you want to drink" I do wish this place success as I like the idea of promoting local beers and a wide variety of offerings, but it just wasn't all that exciting. read more

My go-to spot for beer in Tyler. Locally owned and operated with a badass brew selection. Staff is great and the place is laid back. Versatile lay-out makes you feel comfortable popping over after work in a suit and tie or catching up with the guys in shorts and a ball cap. Either way, you won't feel out of place. Knowledgeable staff that is willing to make recommendations and pass out samples. I've heard that the cocktails are good, but I am a beer guy so I'm stuck touring the taps. Tyler has needed this. I love the concept of their signature cocktail The Mule and its variations and approve of the choice of copper mugs for service. Such a refreshing way to end a day of record breaking 101 degree heat. When travelling through Tyler on business, I found much the city to be poorly stocked in it share of craft beer bars with local flavor due to the city's history as a dry county and only recent conversion. With a wall of taps, this place has the potential to continue to expand its selection of craft brews and eventually pull those typical Buds, Coors, and Millers, off their taps all together as the tasting palettes of the patrons become more sophisticated. read more

Not a big beer drinker but came here to support a local business and because Todd S. said it was legit. A very nice addition to the sorely lacking tyler bar scene.
