This place used to be called "Professionail" upon reading a recent review about new ownership, I set up an appointment for an acrylic fill with Michelle and was told it was $20. When I entered the salon Danny, the owner, gives me a once over and says, "let me see your nail." I show him and he says "you want to try solar, new set?" I politely decline and he got all pissy and started talking in Vietnamese to "Michelle" who was supposed to do the set. He passes me off to this other girl Mai, who barely spoke English. Michelle and Danny have an exchange of words, I'm sure at my expense and I hear the word "packy" slide in and they leave to the back room and talk/giggle amongst themselves in Vietnamese. I am not Pakistani but as someone of an obvious ethnic background, I was extremely offended, but let it slide...till now. Mai was under whelming, I could do a better job. The drill bits were not sanitized before or after me, she cut two of my fingers with the sander and didn't say a word, she didn't make an effort to file out some nicks on my index fingers and then forgot to add a bonding agent. After removing the polish at home I was shocked to see my thumbs had air pockets and my index finger had a visible break. She was rushed the entire time, even though there were no clients waiting. She yelled at me when my throbbing nicked finger hit the wet towel under my hands. I have NEVER seen this practice. She tells me to go pick a color; btw, she didn't use the block sander after she finished so the nail bed was not smooth. I pick a color and she slaps it on with the same precision of a 10 yr old child and begins to wipe down her station with that same wet towel she had under my hands! At the till she rings me up at $31.50. I question this, she says its for the nail polish and top coat...I CAN'T MAKE THIS SHIT UP. I still decently tip her even though she didn't deserve it. Fast forward 3 days, 3 fingers are broken. I call the salon, speak to Douche, I mean Danny, and he tells me, "Well I have to see your nail and then I decide if I will fix it." The next day I go in and see his sister "Michelle" with her feet atop a manicure table sanding down her hooves giving herself a shellac pedi in the chair where the customer sits, that's right folks, she was cutting away at her toe nails where you and I place our hands! To make matters worse, she changes spots so she could cover her ass, and basically, with a dry paper towel dusts off her toenail clippings. He seems disappointed that's its me and says, "I will fix one but the other can be sanded down." I point out the thumbs with the air pockets and says they will be fine (NO because if water gets trapped in there you get fungus! See pic). He starts to sand down my index fingers so much that they look like shit. The one finger he "fixed" was completely miss-shaped and the entire edge of the nail wasn't filled, its the exact spot where it broke to begin with! (BTW IT BROKE THE VERY NEXT DAY BECAUSE ASSHOLE DIDN'T USE BONDER!) I point it out to him and then asks me if I do nails! I say no, but its going to break again, and instead of adding a touch more acrylic, he has the balls to say, "well I'm working on natural nail so if I fix it the way you want, I would have to cut down and add tip and charge you!" WHAT THE FUCK?! This is a first! Every technician I have seen is able to freehand a minor thing like that, which only proves one thing to me, that he and his staff are either incompetent, belligerent or racists or all the above. During my "service" he actually has the audacity to take a personal call on his iphone with the speaker on and in full blown Vietnamese he's shouting back at the person on the horn and Michelle who is now in the station in front of me adding nail art to her hooves starts joining in! It was like I was in the fucking Twilight Zone!! Is this really happening!? Finally he finishes my single nail repair and starts being extra nice near the end asking which color I wanted and so on- I presume in hopes of a tip-I basically say, no thanks, I'm in a hurry, see you soon....(IN HELL) and walk right out, he says nothing. Worst business practices I have ever seen. I will be making an extra diligent effort to tell everyone I know to avoid this place like the plague. Keep up your garbage attitude Danny, us "Pakistani's" have a big, tight nit community, I'll make sure none of my Indian, Arab, Asian, White, Black, you name it...friends come to see you or your atrocious staff again. Do yourself a favor and take a bloody course in customer service and artificial nails you poor excuse of a "man." AND THEY DON'T WASH THEIR HANDS BEFORE OR AFTER WORKING ON YOU! I came here on a Sunday afternoon with my 4 year old niece. When I walked in I was "greeted" by a man asking me what I wanted to get done. When I told him that I just needed my toenails trimmed and polished and my nieces finger and toe nails painted, I got the dirtiest look ever, like I had said something wrong!! (I actually had to ask if that was okay...) he told me to pick our colors and then passed me off to another lady. We got escorted to chairs and she started my nails. My niece asked if she could get water in her bowl to soak her toes and the same guy who greeted us was like "no, she can only get water if she's getting a pedicure because we will have to clean the bowl after" (ummmm don't you have to do it anyways??!?) Went here to get my shellac polish changed after having it initially done somewhere else. The tech didn't talk to me during the appointment except to scold me for accidentally hitting my hand on the lamp. He filed my nails so thin that three of them broke after only a few days. He also did not have me wash my hands after the filing and original polish removal, so my new polish has nail dust trapped in it. There are bubbles in the polish as well, and it is uneven (you can feel a dip in the middle when you run a finger over the nail) and some parts there clearly wasn't enough polish put on as it is rough and has dimples. I got French tips and he did not do them cleanly. There is white streaks in the lower part of the nail on four nails. I ended up rushing out since the tech made me feel so unwelcome so I didn't see all of this until I was home. At this point I'm afraid to have them redo it, since my nails are so thin now. I booked an appointment for a deluxe shellac manicure and pedicure. The description for the deluxe manicure online says paraffin treatment - this absolutely did not happen. The deluxe pedicure was horrible. If the cooling gel massage and/or foot mask happened as stated in the online description, it was a one minute thing that was not relaxing. Besides not providing the services stated in their descriptions, my nails are all different lengths and shapes. They would not acknowledge any of the missed services. Dropped in with my sister to get our nails done for the new year. Even without an appointment we got seated immediately. I got my nails painted with a shellac color and she got a manicure and got her brows waxed. The lady who did my nails was pleasant, did not talk much but got the job done. My sisters tech was nicer and engaged in small talk. I think her brows ended up a little uneven, but nothing a pair of tweezers won't fix. Do not waste your time or money coming to this "salon". My friends and I could give each other better pedicures at home. After booking 2 appointments for noon we arrived on time to cold water foot soaks and one lady to do both of our pedicures. After 30 minutes of cold water and a 30 second scrub/massage she filed my nails and slapped on two coats of blotchy polish. We asked you was going to be doing my friends pedi as we were well aware it would end up being the same lady. They tried to tell us another lady would do it but she was busy giving another customer a new set of nails. When we expressed we would not have the time to wait for it to start 45 min after our appointment time they became very rude and started talking about us in Vietnamese. Avoid this place. I have been here 2 times, once for shellac mani & pedi and just recently on Saturday afternoon just to have the shellac color that I had previously done elsewhere changed. "Danny" asked where I had them done previously and I told him it was Bellagio Nail- which I didnt have time that day to get to, and that Bellagio was the first place Ive had shellac done and it actually lasted more than a few days. He charged me $30 just to change the color, tried to rip out a hang nail and caused my finger to bleed, the sander was not sanitized, the nail file he used was dirty and obviously unsanitary and TWO days later my nails are chipped and PEELING off, even though he put 3 coats on. There are 3 reasons why shellac would peel/chip off: 1. It was applied incorrectly 2. The product is bad/old or purchased from China and not real 3. the lamp needs to be replaced or is broken. My shellac manicure from Bellagio lasted 2 weeks before one nail slightly chipped. Calgary is full of these salons that purchase cheap knock-off shellac and charge so much money for it to make a large profit. I would go back and ask them to fix it, but I feel it'd be a waste of my time because they will chip/peel in a few days again. I dont recommend this place and although more convenient for me than Bellagio, I will not return. read more

I have been there twice. First time Jesse did my nails and gave me likely the best fill, shaping and look, Ive ever had in over 30 yrs. I went back, booking online with Jesse again even though she referred me to a coworker Kim, I think because im very "particular" and give friendly detailed instructions and directions ( considering the language barrier, it IS necessary at these type of salons. So the second visit was rebooked with Jesse but I got called a day before letting me know that Jesse wasnt working that day? ok, so I took Kim, who I had high expectations for, due to Jesses referral during my first visit....and Kim literally gave me the SHITTIEST fill, shape and look EVER!. That was 6 days ago and \i have lost one nail already plus they look like HELL. I am going to book with Jesse one more time and hopefully She will do as great of a job as she did the first time. The atmosphere is very blah. they dnt talk much, and the speak in their language ( jjust like they do at Vilan Nails in Coventry Hills which is also shitty and spreads nail fungus as I have gotten it twice there) which is very rude and Unprofessional. I will post another review after my next appointment. ( which has to be 2 wks earlier than usual now due to the nail coming off and the shaping being absolutely horrible. ) Ima stylist and HATE ugly nails. I made an appointment on a Friday afternoon for the following Monday with Michelle. I arrived on time and Michelle greets me with "Do you have an appointment"? "Yes, at 10:00 I reply. She looks at me like I'm an alien and says "You have to wait I have someone else before you". Are you kidding me?? She goes to the appointment book and said "What your name"? I tell her, she told me to sit at her station. She told me they put the wrong name down.... Okay we all make mistakes. Shortly after that a man came in and she said something to him in their mother tongue and he shot me a look like I made the mistake! Talk about uncomfortable... He continued to throw me a "look" each time he passed the table. Nice way to treat your customers... Then as Michelle starts to work, her light won't go on. She said something to one of the fellas about it and he told me to move to the next chair, she then said go back to my chair. He said go to the next chair, she said go back to my chair. This is nuts!! One of the fellas tries to fix her light and still won't work. Again he tells me to move to the next chair, I do again, and she is PISSED. I guess because she has to move her things across the table while he tries to fix that damn light! Which still wasn't working when I left. She proceeds to work on my fill and she's not happy, I know because she was filing my nails with rage, and she pulled back the skin on my thumb with such force it cracked and bled. Picks up an edge of a wet face cloth and dabs the blood off. Did I hear "sorry"? Not a word, she continues on, pressing the skin back into place and holds pressure for a minute. I should have walked out while "playing the first set of chair tag". Needless to say I won't be going back. I have better things to do with my time and there are plenty of nail salons to choose from. I had a manicure and pedicure here today. The price was very reasonable ($50 for both) and the service was very good. Everything was clean, Kevin was very nice and gentle, and my cuticles were trimmed and cleaned well. I would definitely return! There is lots of free parking too as it's located in an outdoor mall. read more

I went there because of a recommendation of a friend, this is NOT my usual salon. I am not greeted pleasantly at ALL and i am rudely ignored by them, and my friend, who is a loyal costumer is taken in right away. The sanitation was awful, i hope i don't get an infection. The buffer was not cleaned before or after me, the cuticle trimmer was cleaned with rubbing alcohol, not a proper sterilizer, and the methods in which she applied my shellac was out of order. I had to file all the rough edges down and its only been a week and the nail polish has already lost its shine. It was way more expensive than my usual place, and was a way worse job than my usual place, i will not be going back. read more

I do not recommend this place at all. It was my first time going there as I needed to find somewhere close to home since my usual nail place is at Chinook. First of all I had black color on my nails she told me it was too dark she could not take it off, ok if that was the case why couldn't she take the gold off. One week ago I had my nails shellaced which was 40.00 plus tax and a 5 dollar tip. Needless to say, I have been on sick leave and thought I would do something that would make me feel better and on a tight budget now it's a treat. I did some spring cleaning and afterwards saw 3 nails had flaked/chipped and called to set a appointment and discuss with the owner that the reason for paying so much is to have nails that last not a week!! I took one of my nails and showed him how little it took for the color and shellac to flake off and if he fixed the 3 in a day or two the rest would follow suit. He tried telling me the reason was because my nails were too smooth, which I then said, well the girl must have buffed them too much. Long story short he would not fix all my nails and I told him not to bother with the 3 as it would be another waste of my time. I don't know what she did wrong but being a 57 year old woman, shellac nails don't last a week!!! No refund I would like to add I have never written a review let alone a bad one!! I have been getting my nails done here for the past two months and I have had issues all 4 times I had my nails done. The 1st three times, I got stiletto (pointy nails). EVERY time, I had issues with the nails lifting and or even breaking off only 2 days after getting my nails done! I do t do anything harsh with my hands and my hands are not in water or anything all the time. They do fix nails for free but I have literally been there once, and sometimes 2 times, in one week. I asked them why the nails keep breaking, is it something I am doing, etc. I was simply told, "sometimes this happens, we don't know why". The last time I got my nails done I decided against the long nails (as they seem to be insanely weak) and opted for a shellac manicure. I got my nails done on Thursday. Today is Monday and I 4 nails are chipped either half way or completely. I mean really!?!??!? Shellac is supposed to last about 3 weeks, not 3 days. I will never be going back! I had my nails done by Michelle every time I went. In fact, I will be going in tomorrow morning to complain. I want my money back, this is a joke. read more

Wouldn't recommend because of the disgusting behaviour of the owner. His inability to take responsibility for his behaviour and lies show in his responses to reviews. However, the other staff is quite nice. But there are better salons, with better prices to support. I was (over) charged $170 (with tip, because again the woman who did my services was very sweet) for services that were incredibly basic and took less than 40 minutes total to complete. The total for the services shouldn't have been this much to begin with since it's not actually what I wanted/asked for. However, since it's the services I got, fine. But even then, the price with tip shouldn't have been over $150. A $20 overage might seem minor in the grand scheme of things but it was the owner's yelling in response to my questioning that became frustrating and embarrassing. He said I should go elsewhere and, of course, I will. I regret ever deviating from my regular nail place. If you choose go to this salon, that's okay because, despite the awful owner, the rest of the staff are quite nice. Just don't go when Danny is there and you'll have a lovely time. read more

I went there to get refills for acrylic which are Terribly overpriced at 45$. For this price I can get a full new set. So I asked her to take off my nails for 15$. She just started to rip them off and damaged all my nails. When I said that I can do that myself and showed her how I can rip them off too and the result and damage were same she just said ok go home and do it yourself. read more

My first visit to XO nails was a positive one. I made an appointment for a pedicure and I was taken at my appointment time. He did a good job and I was happy. I've visited another salon and they can be busy and you wait, even with an appointment. I make an appointment generally on a Wednesday night to avoid the crowds. Because the first visit was positive I decided to go back for a toenail polish change. I made an appointment for 5 and sat there for 15 minutes while they tended to everyone else. There was a person that walked in for a pedicure that was taken within 5 minutes, no appointment. They only seem interested in you if they are doing a pedicure or more. I guess $15 for 10 minutes worth of work is not important enough to them. Since they do not value their customers I'm not interested in going back. read more

It looked nice but I should have known with not a single person in there when we walked in and no one during our visit that this place had issues!!!! Where do I begin, I usually go to sunshine nails at crowfoot and have a great experience and reasonable prices!!! This joke of a business has incompetent staff, rude and obnoxious, they whisper in there language, glare at u, use dirty stuff with other peoples skin ( OMG, awful)use a cheese grater for pedis?!!!?!!? They charged me 105 dollars for a kids pedi/mani and mine which lasted 25 min in total and is the worst thing I have ever seen!! No massage, my feet were not even filed, I requested a French pedi and the girl argued with me she could not do?? Is that not something most salons do???She blotted some flower on my daughters toes that looked like she dropped the bottle!!! She cut my daughter in 3 places on her fingers and was bleeding!! I asked my daughter if she was ok and the girl Michelle just kept glaring at me and getting rougher with my daughter! I will watch closely for infection and take action if I have too!
