I truly don't know how to put into words how incredible Kaci and the XOXO Weddings team were. If I could give more than five stars, I would. Kaci and I worked together for almost 18 months planning the wedding of my dreams, and somehow I can honestly say I was never once stressed about wedding planning. I hear so many brides talk about how overwhelming and stressful the process is, and that simply was not my experience. That is entirely because of Kaci. She is an amazing communicator, incredibly organized, and most importantly, she just makes things happen. I never felt like I had to chase down vendors, solve problems, or worry about what was happening behind the scenes. If something needed to get done, Kaci handled it. She negotiated with vendors on our behalf, advocated for us, kept everything moving, and somehow made the entire planning process actually FUN. And our wedding was not an easy one to plan. We got married on Catalina Island, which meant coordinating an insane amount of logistics to get everything and everyone to the island. We literally needed a barge to transport our flowers, band equipment, and so much more. What could have been incredibly complicated and stressful, Kaci made feel completely effortless. Then came the actual wedding day. It was genuinely the best day of my entire life, and everything went perfectly. We are very thankful to have had XOXO and Kehau as part of our wedding planning experience. Overall, Kehau was extremely helpful in coordinating, especially in thinking about things that I would never have thought of. During our meetings with vendors, she let me take the reins because I'm type-A so I generally took control of a lot of aspects of the wedding, but when she needed to step in, she did and had meaningful comments and questions to add. I highly recommend a wedding coordinator as well as XOXO, even if you are a type-A bride. I never thought I would need a coordinator, but Kehau showed me that I did lol. She gave us many recommendations for different vendors, was in all the meetings, helped with all questions and was pretty speedy to answer. While the months leading up to the wedding were quieter, once it was the month/week before the wedding, Kehau really stepped up. She coordinated with all the vendors and with the venue without involving me, which I really appreciated so I would not be so stressed. Pretty much everything went according to plan (there's always something -- but not Kehau's fault). For the rehearsal, Kehau was on top of everything and made sure everyone knew their place. She helped take all the items I purchased out of my hands and store them before the wedding so they could be arranged without me. Day-of wedding, everything was decorated as I wanted. Everything looked beautiful and went smoothly. She was always there, making sure everything was timed well and whatever I needed. There was one hiccup with the menus, but she handled it calmly and it was fixed quickly. Post-wedding, we realized there were a few hiccups that were under Kehau's oversight that should have been clearer or better communicated. I first met Kaci when she was the wedding coordinator for my best friend's wedding and could see immediately how efficient, professional, and kind she was! Mel was fantastic! She was referred to us by a friend and I'm so glad that we found her. Our wedding was in May 2025 and we agreed to a contract with her in January 2025. We had booked our major vendors by then - reception and ceremony venues, hair and makeup, photography and videography - but there was so much left to do. From the moment we signed with her, Mel set up monthly meetings to make sure we were on track to do everything else we had to do. From first dance choreography, wedding signage, the linens for the ceremony, so many details I never would have thought I needed. As the wedding date got closer, she took a more direct role in contacting and coordinating with the different vendors. She created a detailed timeline that was incredibly helpful considering we had two bridal parties and 3 different locations. She ran the rehearsal the day before, making everyone felt confident about what they had to do. When things came up last minute, as they inevitably do, she was there to help, and that made a huge difference. On the day of the wedding, she had told us that she would be one of the first people we would see that day and one of the last. She was right. She was there at the end of hair and makeup to make sure we were settled. She was there when we arrived at the ceremony venue, helping to set it up with her assistant, and she was in charge of the timing for us to walk down the aisle. Even when the mic fell off the stand and lost its battery and battery cover, she was able to swoop in and assist. Then it was off to the reception. The reception had several components, including our grand entrance, our first dance, the lion dancers, the speeches, 2 wardrobe changes, the cutting of the cake, and an 8-course banquet. And we pulled it off. She was there from beginning to the end, and we had a fantastic time. Our friend said Mel was one of the hardest working wedding coordinators she had ever met. I fully agree. Kaci immediately put my mind at ease. From the first call we had, we bonded over so much. She makes you feel safe in your decisions but also has a keen sense of when and where to guide you to make the right calls for you. One of the most significant game changes was her list of what to worry about when. It made me realize I didn't have to take it all on at once; we could break each thing down into individual steps per month. Additionally, she didn't overwhelm us with options, she listened to our requests and presented us with three options at a time. If we didn't like any of the three, she brought three more. Taylor Hicks was the best decision I made for my June 2025 wedding at Valhalla Tahoe. There was about an 18 month period between the day we hired her to be our day of coordinator and our actual wedding day, however, Taylor was with us every step of the way. From the moment I first met Taylor, there was a sense of calm, organization, and love for Taylor Swift that I knew I wanted for my wedding day. She thought of every detail and handled them seamlessly. From managing the timeline to dealing with all vendors, setting up decor, keeping wedding party members and family in check, she made the entire day flow effortlessly. Anytime a problem occurred, she handled it quietly and efficiently so we never even knew there was a hiccup. As a Type A person that stresses a lot, this was especially important for me as a bride on my wedding day. Plus, everyone loved her at our wedding! I knew I wanted a planner for when I eventually had to plan a wedding, and woo boy, I had no idea how critical one would be. I found Kaci at XOXO Weddings through a law school classmate who planned her wedding. Kaci was bubbly, bright, friendly - qualities I sometimes lack - and it was so appreciated for the many zooms, calls, emails, and texts we had. I'm stubborn and type A, and I know there is a lot of the process that I could have done, but I'm glad that I chose not to and let Kaci handle and manage. Having her on top of everything gave me space to focus on the design and details - things that took our wedding from great to amazing. I used Kaci for the whole package which included helping us find a venue. She nailed it with what we eventually chose. I will say that if you're anything like me, you will still look at the venues' reviews, photos, etc before making a choice. Same with the various vendors. Kaci always came equipped with the best, but again, because I'm type-A, I would still do my own googling and research all to just come back to one of her suggestions. OR if I found one that I liked better on my own, she would still swoop in and handle communication and all the "admin." It felt like we were part of the same team when approaching vendors. I had a budget and Kaci would give me ways to make it work and would help me come up with ways to make it work with the vendors. If there was ever a snafu, she would be our representative and get it worked out. You can tell vendors love working with her. Which is what you need, because then vendors will want to work with you. I always worried, what if I change my mind? What if we do alllllll this, set the design book, and I wake up and have a different idea - well that happened and Kaci was great at communicating that I could change things up until x date. Kaci was always responsive. I'm a lawyer and being responsive to emails is part of my job, but I didn't expect it to be a part of hers, yet she would always respond if not right away, just a few hours later (I should note that I never expected her to get back to me so quickly and it was not something I demanded). I feel like this review is all over the place because how can I put our working relationship for the past year into one review?! Here's some more things though, she had a designated binder for my wedding. She kept track of when payments were due and how much had been spent. She helped create a budget at the outset and helped us stick to it --- though we strayed. She held a 4 hour design meeting with me that got the juices flowing. She attended vendor meetings with us. She was receptive to my suggestions and took them on. She helped run our rehearsal dinner and welcome party. When it came to day of stuff, I felt like a baby when I realized I had to deal with my family and their schedules and their parking and all that. Because she had taken such good care of everything else, I was like, I can't possibly handle this haha. Day of, she was everywhere. Had a walkie talkie and her two assistants from the company. They were everywhere too. Making sure I was where I needed to be. Making sure vendors were in and out appropriately. I'm sure she saw things and handled things that I'll never know about, and that's fine because I had a good day. Surprising to me is that we got our own attendant during dinner who was on top of getting us anything we needed. I wish I could relive that day again and again. I wish I could've attended my wedding as a guest! It just went so smoothly. I'm sad it's done, largely because we won't be working together anymore. If you're considering XOXO weddings, just do it. Mel and Kaci are magicians. I've worked in corporate America as a personal assistant, executive assistant, project manager, operations... and I didn't want to be one on my wedding day. If you are a bride and the most organized person in your life/friend group/family, you especially MUST hire a wedding coordinator!! Mel is so strong, people went to her and not me with issues which was such a godsend to keeping me serene on my big day. Unbeknownst to me, we booked a very high maintenance venue (with rather insane rules like "you can't provide tampons in the women's restroom for your guests because the two female children at the wedding might think they are candy and eat them...") and Mel dealt with them so well. And we provided the dang tampons. Her experience is also invaluable when choosing vendors. I went through some of the most stressful once-in-a lifetime events I've ever gone through in the year leading up to my wedding (major car accident, insane job situation, death of my father, etc) and Mel was so helpful directing me to where to point my flashlight when I was trying to make my way through the forest. XOXO was the best money spent on my wedding. I would have literally cut budget anywhere else if it came to that or having to go without Mel, truly. If you're reading this and call them and she's booked for your date I'm already sorry, but honestly seeing how high Kaci's standards are, you're in good hands with anyone at XOXO. read more

I could not say enough great things about my wedding coordinator Kehau (Kehaulani Gabriel). I chose the hugs package and I really liked that it was not just a "month of" coordination which is what most planners/coordinators offer. From the moment we had our first meeting, she was ready to jump in and start drafting a timeline. I originally planned to do all the coordination and planning myself but halfway through the planning I realized that I really needed help, especially on the day of. Now, I could not imagine going through the planning process without Kehau! Since we was able to put together the timelines, communicate with vendors, and set up all the decor, I was able to focus on enjoying the wedding itself without worrying about things going smoothly. We had the pleasure of working with Mel for our wedding that just happened this weekend. I rushed to write this review while everything was fresh in my head. I worked with Mel for 1.5 years leading up to our big day and she did not disappoint. Despite the fact that Mel had to deal with a traumatic family event in the weeks leading up to my wedding, I never felt like she dropped the ball once with my wedding planning. She was always available to respond to my messages, and never once made me feel like I was bothering her. I felt prioritized and confident in her ability to execute. I'm a type A bride, and had so many vendors and things that needed to get done on the big day. It was a lot of moving parts. But Mel and her team executed it perfectly. I couldn't have asked for a better planner and team to have executed my vision. All my guests were also so impressed with Mel and her team, with how professional they were and how they accurately and efficiently handled everything. They say every wedding has some unplanned hiccup, but I feel like thanks to Mel and her team, the night went seamlessly and perfectly.
