This was a fun spot to stop into. I am pretty sure I would've still given it a 4 stars before, but we happened to have it scheduled on a day that turned out to be scorching hot, so we really lucked out! This was such a fantastic relief from the heat, and was just fun! So if you end up there on one of those rare hot days, then I highly recommend. Our guide/host into the room was super fun and energetic. I managed to be ok in a knee length dress and no hat, but had I not been so hot coming in I probably would have preferred to have on capris at the very least. I made Yelp account just to warn everyone about this. The iced area is very small, barely place to sit. The experience is timed, but since the drinks are small and only 2 maximum, you wont need longer. What can I say, it is a tourist trap. This experience is simply for Instagram/ facebook photos. You get 3 tokens, 1 for outside the bar, 2 for the cold bar. It's 19.50 euros, and several tourist pamphlets give you a dollar or two off. They have a ship/pirate theme in the normal temperature bar before you go into the cold one. They let you in the cold bar every 20 minutes. They play a video that has pirate in before you go in which is very funny. They give you coats with no zippers. They give you gloves that feel like they have been washed 1,000 times. I spent about 20 minutes inside drinking and taking pictures. Inside the bar they have very limited drink menu of beer and a few shots. Upon exit you put you gloves in the dirty bin. Hopefully this is a detailed enough description to help you decide if this is worth it. read more

This was a cool experience (literally!) but knowing what I know now I'm not sure I would pay the 20 euros again. I mean we knew it was going to be freezing in there but damn! 10 minutes in and we were ready to leave. Although they give you a jacket and gloves, it's still super cold. Also, I'm not sure how hygienic it is since the gloves go back in the same container that you pick them up from as you exit out. The Ice Bar! Lol I'm giggling as I type this review. I really wish I hadn't come to this place. It's such a waste of money and time. If you want to pay money to stand in a freezer barely the size of your local McDonald's freezer, then come to this place. Otherwise, there is simply no value in coming here. Maybe come to the 'warm' room at night and check out the bar, but I've never done it so I can't tell you if it's any good. A positive is that it is a really nice bar/lounge outside of the freezer. I was super excited to try out this experience in Amsterdam. We went on a Tuesday. It was January 3rd. It was a little more hyped up than the actual experience was. We spent most of the time there waiting to go into the ice bar. When we went in it was freezing, as you can imagine. It was -9.4 degrees Celsius. I was wearing a long sleeve shirt, vest, my down jacket and their jacket they give you, with a scarf, hat and gloves. Let me say I was very cold still. I drank my two drinks and then had to get out of there. I think I should have expected that but let's just say I paid for two smaller drinks and to be cold. I think it's definitely cool (no pun intended), but not a must see in Amsterdam. Nice staff, clean and creative though! read more

When you enter there, is a very nice bar, with a good decoration They ask us to be there 20min before the schedule time, so everybody can enter at the ice bar together. At the time, it rings a bell and the TV shows a video with a big ship and a capitan telling about the "big adventure" we would have. It was good and everyone there were excited to go there. Then it came a guy from the bar to recute us to go there. He tried to be a "rude pirat", but it wasn't even funny. In the hall we took some huge coats and gloves to get in. They had a very bad smell, it seemed that they don't wash it ever. You could drink two shots there (not pure, but with orange juice). The decoration there is very nice, with polar bears made of ice, frozen things inside the walls and everything. But it's actually a fridge. And you can't stay there more than 20min (we tried, but it's the most we could stand there) After this, you can have a drink at the bar. I need to admit that I regret about my choice to go there. Another great experience with an ice bar. Entry into the ice bar plus 3 drink tokens works out about £14. You get one token to use in the main bar for a beer, cocktail or soft drink. While you wait for your time slot into the ice bar itself. Then when in the ice bar you can use 2 tokens on a vodka and mixer. They provide you with coats and gloves. I found this tour on viator.com and sounded cool. The IG pics looked fun so I booked. $18 gets you entry and 3 drinks so worth it for sure. When you arrive you check in and are told to wait in the main (warm) bar. Then your tour is called and you are greeted and hyped up by a pirate. You watch a short clip as he continues to hype you up. Then tour starts and you are given a jacket and gloves. You enter bar and its COLD. You drink your 2 drinks and leave! Your 3rd drink is in main warm bar. Cool thing to get some awesome pics. You are in a holding pattern in the main bar which is pretty simple. Indeed, a real tourist trap, but oh-so worth the visit! My husband and I had the Holland Pass, so entrance here was free with one of our coupons. As other reviews state, with entry, you receive a free, full-sized drink of your choice, inside what I'll refer to as the "regular" bar. In addition, you received two more drinks (choice of beer or shot) inside the ice bar. Another Yelper complained about this lack of options, but the fact is - could you imagine the logistics of trying to mix drinks in a bar made completely of ice? Where are you going to store the soda and other mixers in -9 degree temperatures? Duh. Anyhow, it was a really neat experience. Our bartender/pirate was great. Really funny and in-character. The bar itself is a sight to see - yes, it's small, but people don't stay long so it's really not all that crowded. To top it off, once you go in and out of the ice bar itself, they have some of the most killer drink prices I've ever seen! If you can muster listening to a constant loop of a pirate video, do stay and have a few well-made, well-priced drinks in the regular bar area. This place consists of a decent bar, nice drinks and a walk-in refrigerator. The so-called "ice bar" is a room with white plastic on the walls and a bar in the corner where they serve vodka and orange juice. They also have a TV which shows a ridiculous, confusing, over-produced video about pirates and something else that has nothing to do with Ice, or bars, or ice-bars. Because the ponchos they hand out upon entry do little to protect you from freezing cold, we ended up leaving after 5 minutes and going back to the bar inside. We stopped off here before the Heineken experience as part of a package deal for €29. We got entrance to both and 5 free drinks and in that sense, it was worth it. First was an orientation in the upstairs bar, where we could drink. Avoid this tourist trap. It's fine for the pictures I guess but if your friends know anything about it, they'll make fun of you anyway. You get 3 tokens, one for the first room which is a normal, sticky, overcrowded, pirate themed bar that you cant wait to leave once you arrive. There you will be served the nastiest cocktail you've ever had and even when you can finally move on to the next room, it's a 15-20 minute transition of everyone putting their unwashed jacket and gloves on considering you're just wearing the same jackets the last group was, while one guy yells the rules and the other guy is so load you cannt even hear them. Finally, they lead you to the 'Ice Bar' which is essentially a glorified cooler with Ice sculptures you may see at a county fair. The coolest part is probably that you're drinking out of ice glasses but you have a choice of 4 cheap & disgusting shots or Heineken and my first glass completely leaked all over almost immediately after getting it. The second one I drank as fast as possible just to get out of there. The coats are extremely thin and can't even zip up. Unless you're looking to seriously overpay for some tacky pictures, this place is not for you. This Ice Bar is closer to a scam than it is to an attraction. read more

For those below exclaiming in surprise, "it was freezing!" well, no duh. It's an ice bar! It was actually a pretty cool experience for us (no pun intended...or is it??). We got tickets as part of a deal from a tourist website and had an 8pm ticket time. We got there early and were let in so arriving before your time is no worry. We were given 3 coins for our 3 drinks - 1 cocktail in the bar as you waited for your time to into the ice bar and 2 for drinks in the ice bar. They SAY you can be in the ice bar for 20min but we stayed in there longer. It sounds like a short amount of time, but almost all of our group left before 20min were up and we had the place to ourselves! We loved it! It was no worse than a Boston winter - only better because there was no wind chill! Yes, you're limited to what you can have in the ice bar. You can choose beer or shots of either vodka or rum. I got a whipped cream vodka, served in shot glasses made of ice, and was able to sip it like it was a cocktail. It was yummy too! read more

Simply aweful. The actual ice bar was tiny (about 2 times the size of a standard hotel room). It had a very low cieling; I'm pretty sure it is just the same freezer that is at your local convenience store. The 'special show' is a 3D video which looks like it was made by a high school kid in video technology class. It made no sense; you would have to be stoned to enjoy it.....which is doable nearby. Outside of how big a rip off and cheesy everything was it was something like 14 degrees F in the bar. After about 10 minutes of the 30 minute ordeal you are freezing (the coat and gloves they give you don't get it done). I know you are saying "But it's an ice bar! A bar made of ice! It has to be awesome!" I did the same thing. I couldn't have been more wrong! If I could give it less stars I would! I would actually pay to give it negative stars. DON'T GO HERE! I'd say that I'm usually a pretty good traveler and avoid the tourist traps, but something about this place intrigued me. It's ice..it's drinking...sounds like fun? It's not. It's an interesting idea for 30 seconds before you realize that it's literally freezing and they force you to watch this ridiculous "4D experience" movie that is geared for those stoned. Plus it is not 4D (or at least not that I noticed)...it's barely 3D. Honestly, you're just cold the entire time. They give you this poncho-esque thing with some gloves that are no where nearly as warm enough as they should be for what you're doing. They give you options of shots of smirnoff, jager or a glass of heinken...all chilled (of course). If you want both a shot and beer, you have to do the beer first. You have to have one drink before you watch the movie and one after. It is a literal waste of time and money. We at least got a couple bucks off by going to the Tourist places that sold it for 15 euros. read more

Beware of this place. We paid €25 each to get in, and were told it included 3 drinks, and a photo. It was advertised as €18 in all the guidebooks, but they did not have that price available. Upon entering, we got 2 silver coins, and 1 gold coin. We were told to use the silver coins in the regular bar to get 2 drinks. At the bar, the silver coins only got you very small shots, from a very poor selection of liquors. We then had our group called for the ice bar itself, which is really jist a large cooler with some ice sculptures in it. All of the zippers on our jackets were broken as well before we entered. Once inside, we were told the gold coin we had was for getting a drink in the outside bar, but were able to get 1 drink with it anyway. It was a very foamy heinekin served in a very small ice glass. Overall the icebar has very low value for €25,and the shady business practices with prices and what you get sold at the door vs when your inside are terrible. Stay away from this place, there are much better places to go in Amsterdam. read more

Heineken that's chilled below 0°C! The bar is pretty nice. The bartenders are fun and accommodating. Our Ice 3D show was only 2D, some of the equipment broke right before we came. Even with that, it was pretty fun. It is literally freezing in the ice bar, you have no choice but to wear gloves and winter jackets. Inside the ice bar, you get a few drinks that are poured in little shot glasses made of ice. It is pretty touristy. I'm surprised to see this has low reviews... This is the first ice bar I've ever been to so I don't have much to compare it to, but it was a great experience. Bought a ticket from a tour guide shop for 15€ (off peak time) we got 3 drinks included. While you wait for your time they give you the first drink. (it will keep you warm! And is pretty strong) I recommend a cocktail the amsterdammed was very good but they also had gin and tonic and sex on the beach. They have a cute video and then they lead you into the room. You get a parka and gloves. If you want to take a lot of pics and be prepared bring your own texting gloves, otherwise they'll give you a regular pair. You only get one glass and you get 2 drinks in that glass the beer is pretty foamy so I would just do two shots. Since its so cold the shots are able to be sipped. I had a lot of fun here! You only spend 20m in the bar but it's so cold you don't want to spend Amy more time there. They have non alcoholic options, but the vodka will make you warm so go with that. The lounge area is small but chill, I went at 1pm and surprisingly there was people here which I was glad for cause I thought it would be too early for anyone to go. Inside the ice bar was small but everyone fit. You only spend 20mins inside and it was cool. Everything is made of ice so you get an ice cup for your drink, the seats, and the decorations.
