I had an absolute blast on my sunset tour Sunday with my guide, Kevin. The experience of driving the UTV in the Sand Flats and getting to see an amazing sunset was pretty cool. I also really enjoyed the overlook of the Colorado River and generally just riding the trail. There's just enough perceived danger to keep it really entertaining! Kevin also had a lot of knowledge about the trail and the various danger spots where people tend to wreck and seeing the famous Hell's Revenge spot was awesome as well. Our half day tour of Arches was spectacular and well worth every dollar it cost. Jack our driver/guide was great. Super knowledgeable. Great driver in off road terrain. Our Toyota Sequoia was a terrific vehicle for the 3 of us plus Jack. Learned so much in half a day. Saw wonderful arches...many from directions the general public doesn't know about. I had been to Moab on Easter Jeep Safari 25 years ago with my Jeep club and drove the Hells Revenge and Fins trail in my own Jeep. I'm older now and no longer own a Jeep, so my wife gave me an early Father's Day gift of a 4.5 hour U-drive tour with Extreme 4X4 Tours. Our guide Austin was great; he guided us over some of the same difficult obstacles I drove my own Jeep over years ago, giving us a proper briefing on how to handle each one in a safe manner. I never thought I was in any danger while driving the difficult sections, but I did find a few sections to be quite "hair raising" while overcoming them. Austin also pointed out several interesting features and geography of the area, making our tour much more than just a 4X4 "thrill ride". As a side note, I found it interesting that these Kawasaki 4X4s handled the trail with great finesse and less stress than I recall experiencing in my own CJ5 years ago. I can see why they are so popular and outnumber the Jeeps on the trails. I highly recommend Extreme 4X4 Tours as a very worthwhile addition to your visit to Moab. I know I will certainly remember my experience on that trail ride for a long time to come! read more

Can't say enough good things about this epic tour!!!! Gerrit was our tour guide and I first have to say that this kid takes so much pride in his job and where he's from it's unbelievable. I say kid too because he's only 23 years old! He basically has lived in the Moab off-road desert his entire life learning to drive at an extremely young age, his experience thru the trail was nuts. We literally romped every hill, rock, step down, step up, trail you could imagine. We were the rock stars of the entire park with people being visibly jealous of our rig. Just finished a sunset tour of Arches National Park with Zed and oh boy! It was so enjoyable!! Not only did Zed time the stops perfectly with the sun setting, he educated us on the history of the park, the geological formation of the park, and the plants in the park. I read the other 5 star reviews on yelp after taking the xtreme 4 x 4 tour and concur. This was an amazing, blow your mind, fun tour. Our driver was Garret. There are definite elements of a roller coaster ride. What makes this ride a bit more exhilarating is that there are obviously no tracks. I felt very safe in the event of a rollover--5 point restraints inspected by driver each time we had to buckle up, roll bars. The angle of vehicle was at least 60 degrees going up or down some embankments. Quite frankly it felt like we were ar a 90 degree angle. All I saw during ascent was sky or the ground during descent. And oh yes, there were the amazing views and sunsets from the highest points. The tour was worth every penny that we paid. Highly recommend. read more

We did the 6PM tour and it was all that and a bag of chips fun! The sights of the area were amazing of course. What you can do and where you can go with those little 4x4's is amazing. This is the best activity I did in Moab in the 5 days trip. Our driver Dave took us for a ride with his monster wheel 4x4 over the sand dunes. It was a real life roller coaster in the car. Some times the car tilt to an angle you feel like you are about to fall off the cliffs. Some verticals are about 70 degree climbing up to the dune. We had a group of 6 vehicles and he made sure we all kept up and felt comfortable. He made key stops to take in the amazing views and also give us a break from the OHVs. He was super knowledgeable on the area and off-roading in general. He shared some great stories about Mickey's Hottub. The staff at the office were friendly and organized. Our family recently went on the 2 Hour Xtreme sunset tour during our Spring break vacation, and it was one of the best things we did. This tour was a little more expensive than similar tours offered by other companies, but I'm so happy we spent a little extra because it was worth every cent and more. The original motivations for spending a little more for this tour was, first, because it seemed the most safe with bucket seats and 5-point harnesses for each passenger, and second, there were enough seats for our four family members to all ride in the vehicle. What we soon learned once we got out onto the Hell's Revenge trail was that Xtreme 4X4 Tours also has the biggest, baddest vehicles out there, and that, combined with the extra safety of the 5-point harnesses, allowed us to experience obstacles that the other tours simply skipped or drove around. In fact, the other tours were letting their customers get out of their vehicles to watch us tackle obstacles (see picture below). When the other tours saw or heard us coming, they would stop and let us pass because they knew they couldn't go up/down the obstacles as fast as we could. I was worried that my wife and two daughters wouldn't enjoy the rock crawling, but they all said that they felt safe and had fun. Makes me wish we had booked the 3 Hour Xtreme tour. I don't know about the other drivers that Xtreme 4X4 Tours have, but if you get the chance, I would highly recommend requesting our driver, Gerrit. He was very knowledgable and could answer all the technical questions that I and another dad had about the vehicle, he knew the terrain like the back of his hand, was very friendly and seemed genuinely happy to be out there, helped us get some good photos, and seemed to be well liked and respected by all the other tour drivers out there. It also didn't hurt that he looks just like an actor (James Roday Rodriguez) from a TV show (Psych) that my teenage daughters enjoy watching. Thanks, Gerrit, for a very fun evening! We will definitely be doing this again the next time we are in Moab. read more
