My child took classes here for 5 months. The instructors were good, and I appreciate their efforts. However, I do not like their cancellation policy and would personally not come back for this reason. They say they have a 30 day cancellation policy which is standard and fine. However, in practice it's actually more of a 60 day notice, depending on the date you cancel. So after you put in your written notice (which they will try to talk you out of doing), then you are still charged the full amount for your next billing date. So let's say, you are charged every month on the 15th, and then on the 16th, you decide you need to cancel, you will end up paying for 59 days. This is unreasonable, especially for young children. I also found the customer service, specific to cancelling, to be very unprofessional. The wife of the main Ninja (owner) handles the cancellation process and she was argumentative, difficult, and non-responsive. Honestly, it was pretty shocking and ruined the experience for me. read more

I've been going to Xtreme Ninja for 3.5 years now - 2 years for ILoveKickBoxing and 1.5 years for Muay Thai. I started going when I started grad school as a way to focus on both my mental and physical health. In addition to physical changes to my body, I've also noticed that I have a better time focusing and have a lot more patience for whenever I do something. The instructors are great and the owners are some of the nicest people you will meet! Even if you are a beginner and have never tried anything like this (which is how I was), don't be afraid to try it especially when I transitioned from kickboxing to muay thai. I came here for a few months on a groupon and loved every second of it. The instructors were great and the workout was tough as hell! They really make you sweat. Kickboxing is such a great full body workout and also amazing for the mind and to relieve stress. It's very pricey to get a membership here which is why I haven't, but I hope to some day. My 4yo is precocious and outgoing and a social butterfly. But, for some reason, he found this place to be intimating. We watched a bunch of the little ninja classes and then he had a private session with Ninja. Finally, something clicked. He left saying, "I love this place!" I've been looking for a place where I can challenge myself but as well feel comfortable and encouraged. I have found it, Ilovekickboxing Medford. From the first day of my class I have been sweating like crazy but laughing at the same time! And I've seen such an improvement in my strength and stamina in just less than 3weeks. I've taken mostly taken classes with Kang. He is amazing, and clear with his exercises never the same class. If you can't do a certain combo there is always an easier version that Kang will shows you. As well they are here to support us for whatever we need from What to eat, how to reach your goals or just feedback/ concerns just speak out. I have also taken muay thai with Ninja. He is awsome and very funny. He made sure I was comfortable and having fun. Just finished a free intro class, it was great fun. They kept it interesting and easy to follow, by stringing on various basic moves, followed by sparring and then finished off with making it real by having us practice how these basic moves can be helpful in a real attack. Clearly family owned and operated as husband & wife are always on-site, along with all three of their kiddos. One of my favorite family experiences--I take kickboxing classes after school drop-offs. My 3 kiddos train in the evenings a couple nights a week in Muay Thai, Karate & kidsboxing. We all participate in the family events and the parent's night out are a HUGE PERK! I came to try to Groupon for 10 classes, after the first class I loved it, so I got like 35 classes. They have flexible payments so I join in. All the instructor are very friendly and help you every step on the way if you need it. I have back problems so they show alternative avoid get hurt, but that doesn't mean that will be easy. you will be sweating after 5 minutes. Is a total body workout and I like it to get back on shape soon. I just got my 5th classes and every class I feel better than before and always want more and more. I don't know how to begin to say what Xtreme Ninja Martial Arts Center has done to change not only me physically but mentally and emotionally as well. I travel quite a bit so learning how to defend myself truly comes in handy on top of becoming fit and maintaining my health. It's not just a facility where you go get an excellent workout in. It's much more than that. The coaches actually care about you personally. They want to be apart of your lives. XNMAC is not just a studio filled with a bunch of members. It's a Dojo of one huge family! Everyone encourages everyone and we're all very honest with our coaches about what we consume at home as well. They're so dedicated to us and our well-being that their always on the clock even on their personal time. If I have a bad day and want to feel sorry for myself and stay in bed, my trainer and owner of XNMAC Ninja Nguyen will contact me and tell me to take it out on the MATS! Meaning put your gloves on Rosemarie and come get your workout in and sweat it out! He's a great positive influence on all of us. We all look up to him to the point I get nervous having a slice of cake or a glass of wine for the fear he knows somehow. And of course with my big mouth, I always rat myself out anyhow. Or, if he asks me and he will, I cannot lie to him. He's like the well-respected father of not only the Dojo but in our lives. He's always looking after you. I get so upset with myself when I get him upset by missing too many classes because he knows it wil set me back by obtaining my goal. All the members that are enrolled at XNMAC are literally a ball to workout with. Some of us get split up in class because we're talking too much. It's like school all over again. It's just so much fun. Workouts are suppose to be fun but also walk away with sweat stains and at XNMAC you get both. Oh and you walk away with sweat stains. In between chit-chatting, I'm sneaking in faces at the coaches. Boy do they make you workout! You never have a repeater! I have never repeated a routine since I joined. There's always a surprise each and everyday. The Dojo also does a lot of charity work. We usually do these 2-hr bootcamp classes at the end of the month and the money goes to a local charity. The Dojo offers so many classes and it's constantly changing and adding new classes to the schedule all the time. The trainers are always taking adventures to NYC to gather new skills to come back to put us in tears with. :) It's a bunch of smiles at the XNMAC. They even started 5:30 a.m. classes so your workout can be over with before the sun comes up! How cool is that! We loveeeee this place and their team! After a year of my daughter not attending the school, I wanted to make sure I write up this review because this martial art school did so much for her and our family! First of all, Ninja, Anna, and the entire team at Xtreme Ninja truly have their hearts in this. They are passionate about their mission, and instill admirable values in everything they do. My daughter was at Xtreme Ninja for about 1 year and a half, started when she was 11. She was very timid and had been a victim of bullying in school, not only did they help her break out of her shell but they taught her life skills that will be with her forever. I am extremely grateful to them, and saddened that we were unable to continue with them because we relocated, but I do highly recommend them to anyone who is looking for a school that not only teaches martial arts techniques and skills but teaches discipline, character, and values and life skills that stick and build better individuals. read more

I started kickboxing classes here and I LOVE going to classes. I used to have a regular old gym membership but I would go once or twice a month, just running on the treadmill or elliptical, and it got boring quickly. Classes, on the other hand, are lots of fun! You start with some circuits to warm up, do a few drills, and learn new kickboxing moves! The staff is encouraging and understanding of your goals - don't be scared if you've never done any martial arts before (I didn't). I am coming up on my 4 year membership at Xtreme Ninja. I started by a 10 class online deal, and was hooked. I've seen a lot of changes in the dojo, and in the instructors, but through all of the changes in all of the years, as well as my transition from ilkb to Muay Thai, the family atmosphere hasn't changed. The ownership are always there, their kids are always actively there, and the families that visit split up, take separate classes, and meet back up after a great lesson or fitness workout. I recommend this place to everyone looking to workout. I just started to go back to the gym and am not in the best shape. Everyone there made sure I wasn't intimidated and had fun. I was originally planning on going only once a week but now go 2xweek. I look forward to the classes and they actually go around to help you with the moves. I was training here for awhile although due to commute have switched studios. I really loved this place though. Ninja is a great instructor and the Muay Thai classes were a good mix of male and female (when I was attending, not sure if this has changed).
