When I tried to communicate my concerns she was insensitive, judgmental, and unkind. It is my personal belief based on my experience with her that she is driven by money more than care for her patients. She charges a lot of money per session, comparable to the high end of the range for MD psychiatrists. I felt that she was noticeably warmer and friendlier with me during sessions in which I told her I was feeling better and was cruel and uninterested when I was struggling. I expressed to her during a session that I felt she was being mean and I hoped we could find a better way to communicate and she dismissed me immediately and would not take any responsibility. I trusted her at first, but over time that trust unraveled as she revealed more of her personality. Would not recommend unless you have thousands of dollars to burn.

She truly has a humanistic approach and you can tell that each of her patients means a lot to her. The most miraculous part is that she takes medical insurance (as most psychiatrists now a days do not - especially addition specialists). She is in high demand, so you need to book your appointments a month in advance, but I assure you it's worth the wait. She responds quickly to texts, calls and voicemails and has a ton of informational resources to share with her patients. She also has an office in Midtown East. Oh no. I sent my 15 year old daughter to him. He is a nice person but has no skills. He wasn't able…read moreto help her or our family but was very comfortable charging $400 per hour. After 2 years he actually asked her if she had a brother. She doesn't. She has a sister. The whole point of therapy was for my daughter to learn to cope with what is in front of her. He couldn't help . When he and I discussed the possibility of my my 15 year old being depressed he denied to her we had that discussion. We did but he was too afraid to admit that to her out of fear she'd be angry at him. She questioned me and I'm glad she did and I told her that my conversation with him was real. She doesn't want to go back. He also asked what sport she plays. Sports were so important to her. We are talking about 2 years of sessions with a "doctor" who pays no attention. I'm ashamed that I didn't put a stop to this sooner. Sorry but you can do much better. You and your family deserve it.
