I went for a blood test today and there was a problem where the nurse practitioner was not able to process one of the doctors noted instructions and she needed to speak to the doctor for instructions. She called and spoke to someone in the office to give over the message to Dr. Seidman and the doctor called back within 5 minutes. The nurse at the laboratory and was astounded how quickly the doctor called back. Let me quote: "THIS IS THE FASTEST DOCTOR EVER TO CALL BACK SO SWITLY" I recommend Dr. Seidman for any mental health issue and trust his treatment 100%

Dr. Seidman deliberately misdiagnosed my son with mental illness while he was aware of indications…read moreof an underlying medical condition.  Someone who experiences hallucinations for the first time is shocked and bewildered and exceptionally vulnerable.  Dr. Seidman took advantage of my son's vulnerability to condemn him without a trial or a lawyer to a lifetime of incurable mental illness so that he can profit; and he brainwashed him accordingly, all without my knowledge.  There are at least 150 KNOWN illnesses, conditions, and drugs and substances that cause the symptom of hallucinations, and that list is open-ended; and Dr. Seidman, as a practicing psychopharmacologist, is well aware of all of that.  A recent statistic estimates that up to 48% of psychiatric patients are misdiagnosed.  The ironic tragedy is that patients who are being destroyed by a psychiatrist are under the spell and belief that the doctor is actually helping them.  In my son's case his hallucinations were caused by a sphenoid-sinus inflammation which was also manifested as a lazy-eye.  Misalignment of eyes and sudden onset of hallucinations are both indications of a non-psychiatric condition.  My son's symptoms disappear when he abstains from dairy.  His swollen paranasal tissues shrink and the blocked sinus drains; and within days, his eyes become perfectly aligned, and all symptoms disappear -- including lesser psychological effects and stuffiness.  Anyone who has received Dr. Seidman's "incurable" diagnosis should second-guess him!

As a middle aged male patient of Dr Paul's, I well recognize he is impressive and solidly engaged, caring. He is uniquely skilled, talented, genuine, and generally well accessible, at times even surprisingly quickly so - however, unless you request his personal contact details, you may have to breach his temperamental, judicious, capricious secretary who sadly may/has/can and does block your access to the doctor at her whim, particularly in a rare emergency, no matter your case or issue, to your detriment if she desires (Miss Manju Manjulika Chatterjee). Dr Henry Paul is solid, among Manhattan's finest. There is however a massive issue when you pay for a service of such a private and personal nature, and the secretary blocks you. Sadly, if you need help or meds, good luck if you can't access Dr Paul directly. While Dr Paul truly merits every accolade, in my view he would benefit from a focused and professional staff to grow forward. Support staff aside, Dr Paul is a 5-star upper east side professional at the top of his field.

I asked him about the contract he signed with United Heathcare agreeing to my $40.00 co-payment. He answered that he offers superior service and the contract doesn't apply. As a result of this action, I felt betrayed and lied to and walked out of the office. The seriousness of this action cannot be described. I wasted two years telling this man about the most intricate details of my life, expecting that he cared, and would aid me in dealing with my issues. I now have to find a new therapist and educate him for about a year so he can understand my issues and help me with my problems. The behavior of Dr. Goldman was reprehensible. I do not expect to have to TIP my practitioners.

I decided to update my review because…read more.. One: He's been my doctor for 4+ years at this point. Two: He's switched from his original office in Washington Heights at NewYork-Presbyterian Hospital to the new Columbia Doctors - Morningside Heights office on West 113th and Broadway. Three: I don't mean to bring down Ana C. and her two one-star reviews; her assessment surely was true at that moment, but I feel the need to defend my multiple experiences over four years with both him and his staff which have been nothing but pleasant and professional. Four: Perhaps checking out his Health Grade website is more helpful than Yelp, as not as many people search Yelp for health care. (And why not? Haha.) He has helped me through various issues I've had, from more serious to relatively minor. He's very mindful of my immunocompromised state (I am asplenic), making sure I am up to all of my vaccinations and preventative care. I can only speak for myself, but I find him to be personable with me, his staff, and other patients in the waiting area. Perhaps it helps that I've worked at NYP for many years and we have occasional discussions about the hottest infection disease outbreak (haha), but he'll remember what neighborhood I live in and ask how I like living up there, and other things I consider very considerate of a doctor, ANY doctor, to ask of their patient. It shows a connection and an interest. Sorry if that's a tad bit flowery, but I don't visit any health care professional I can't "click" with. Admittedly, I have had to wait a little while for some of his appointments, occasionally 10 - 15 minutes past my scheduled time. That wasn't as much of a problem when he was located at his previous office and I could take a lunch break and be back at my office that was five minutes away. Still, that's the exception and not the rule, I've found. I'm still pleased with this practice over the years, and I'm happy with Columbia Doctors, in general. I intend to continue being a patient of Dr. Lackey's as long as I can! It's not always easy to find a good doctor, NYC or otherwise. You've got to stick to a good one when you find them.
