I got there and they said they couldn't find the part... so I'm like I came for no reason i see. The guy in parts stated that we can reorder it for you and you can pick it up tomorrow. They said they can't ship it to my house or another dealer smh. Just overall an inconvenience to my day. I came the next day to pick the part up and asked for a complimentary car wash and they declined....just ridiculous. One of the worst dealers I've been to. If you must go to Honda go to the one in greenbelt and just ask for Lateef! He's great! Never coming back to this silver spring location again... Update: the owner gave me a phone call and apologized to my situation and I was able to get a car wash the following day. So I did appreciate that. In my pursuit to find someone to fix car I came across Prestige Auto. I sent them estimate of insurance company with pictures of my vehicle in "torn down state". After reviewing documents and photos, they went to pick up vehicle and fixed vehicle. They saved me a few hundred dollars that was needed to not have my vehicle go to chopping block. Jamal and Mike where very helpful in process. It them a little over month to fix vehicle and when I got it back it looked brand new. Mike showed me pieces from the job. I didn't know how major work was. But I'm grateful they saved me headache of looking for another vehicle. It took me six months to find that car!

I just looked them up online and picked them because of the good review. I was extremely happy by the level of service and efficiency. Second time, I "experience driver" backed up in to a car in a parking lot. I knew where to go. Needled to say, I was advised in all options and helped. They are honest, timely and professional. This time, I took my car to the dealer for schedule maintenance and needed to replace my head light and was given a price...the PRICE made me wonder...what if I take my car to Prestige? I told the Lexus people to hold and went to Prestige which gave me a much more affordable price, fast and quality service.     I recently visited Shine My Ride for car detailing. The reservation process was smooth and the…read morelocation is convenient. Overall, my car did look better than when I arrived, and I appreciate that. However, there were several issues that left me disappointed. There were hidden fees that were not clearly communicated upfront. There was also a dog in the shop on a table making loud, distracting noises, which made the environment feel unprofessional. I purchased the basic detailing package through Groupon for $50, which is how I discovered this business. I understand that it was the basic package, but I felt there was very little effort put into the service. There were small areas that clearly just needed a proper wipe down -- I was able to remove residue with my fingers. My interior seats were not properly wiped down either. While there was a strong sales push to upgrade my package, I did not feel the same level of care was given to doing an excellent job with the package I selected. Even with a basic service, attention to detail should still be a priority. Providing outstanding service -- regardless of package level -- is what encourages customers to return for higher-priced services like the $300 intensive detailing. Unfortunately, I have had better detailing services elsewhere for under $50. Because of this experience, I will not be returning.

    Horrible body shop, and horrible people skills…read more The first time I took my car here was because they were recommended to me by my vintage car insurance company. The car looked good when it was finally returned 5 week later. Two or three weeks after I picked it up the clear coat started turning milky. When I brought this to the owners attention he said bring it back in the spring and I'll wet sand it and it will be fine. During my "wait till spring" my vintage Mercedes got keyed on the hood and trunk lid. I called Smitty, the owner, and he said please bring it in March 25th, 2019. This was two weeks after the incident occurred. I brought my car in and it sat for three weeks...he couldn't even take 5 minutes and get the estimate to the insurance company. My insurance company even threatened to close the claim due to the lack of response from this business. At three weeks Smitty finally got an estimate to my insurance company. After being told my car would be ready by the following Monday Smitty told me that was no longer the case because he was going out of town for 10 days and it would be some time after his return before my car would be fixed! I asked "why didn't you tell me that when we spoke on Monday?" Smitty said "cuz it's none of your business." Seriously??? It is completely my business as you are in possession of my property. I explained that I would not be moving forward with the repairs and my car would be towed elsewhere by the end of the day. I have made arrangements to have my car towed to my usual body shop at Koons Ford and the cost for the towing will probably fall on me. Do not use Contemporary Automotive unless you're looking for a lot of abuse, and run around from this apparent one man dog and pony show.

    Contemporary Automotive charged me $9300 to paint bumpers, trim, and engine cover components of my…read morecar, and used Rustoleum(!!!) paint for approximately 75% of it (as indicated on the bill by the UPC code). In writing, Rustoleum's product manager specifically states that Rustoleum Stops Rust Satin Black "...it is not considered to be an automotive paint coating..." When I confronted "Smitty" about the paint that was used, he immediately said it was a mistake, and that POR-15 semi-gloss black was used. This substitution provides no remedy, as POR-15 is no UV stable even when covered by a clearcoat. This is supported directly by the technical information on POR-15's website. Additionally, there are numerous defects (dirt/dust) in the paint, the front bumper was not fitted correctly, and all of the paint has a very rough "orange peel" texture. Unauthorized bodywork was also performed far in excess of what would be considered reasonable (charging 3x more to paint a part than the part costs brand new). Contemporary Automotive also put two dents into my car. All of the inferior paint will need to be stripped off, bodywork repaired as needed, and parts removed and replaced. The work was professionally appraised by a qualified Maryland vehicle appraiser at a value of $770, after nearly 6 weeks at the shop, and the final bill exceeding $10,000. This was the worst experience I have ever had with my antique car, or a merchant in general. They sold me a car under the promise of a 20,000-mile maintenance warranty that was supposed to cover repairs, oil changes, and electrical issues -- but it was all a lie. After the first oil change, my car showed that the oil was still due. Then the check engine light came on shortly after. When I returned to get it fixed, they refused to cover it under warranty and charged me out of pocket. When I complained, I was treated with complete disrespect. Their secretary was rude, their staff was unprofessional, and no one seemed to care about what they promised me at the time of sale. I tried to resolve the issue again, and the staff got even worse. [One of their staff members shouted at me, got in my face, physically stepped on my foot, and tried to intimidate and bully me.] He cursed me out, disrespected me, and told me to get out of the office like I was trash. I have an amputated wrist, and I truly believe he was trying to take advantage of that to intimidate me. This was a disgusting experience. These people are not professional, not honest, and not safe to deal with. I will never forget the way I was treated. What they promised and what they delivered are two different things. If you care about your money, your safety, and your dignity -- STAY FAR AWAY from IAD Autos. The cars they sell are unreliable, their promises are fake, and their customer service is beyond terrible.     Predatory Towing I…read morehad an appointment at 1:30 PM at a commerce center and parked under a sign that stated: "No overnight parking along guard rail. Violators may be towed at vehicle owner's expense." This was during the middle of the day, not overnight. The "private parking" signs are not located where I parked, and those signs apply to tenants or customers receiving services. Another sign I later saw mentioned unauthorized vehicles, which did not apply to me. While speaking with the mechanic, I described my vehicle and he responded, "the car on the tow truck." I said no, then realized my car was already hooked up. I ran up the hill to the tow operator, who stated I did not have a permit. I explained I was a customer receiving service and was not parked in a permit-only area. Despite this, I was forced to pay $175 to retrieve my vehicle. Both mechanics and the store manager attempted to intervene on my behalf. The manager stated, "It wasn't even five minutes ,you had to be watching," and both mechanics said, "You can't keep doing this to our customers." When I explained the situation to the person processing my payment, I was told there was nothing they could do. I later called the towing company again to explain the situation and was told the same. Only after stating that I believed the tow was illegal did I get told a manager would call me back, which never happened. The tow receipt did not list a reason for the tow, and the recorded time was 1:42 PM, further supporting how quickly and unfairly this occurred. I have since reported this incident to the police and notified consumer protection agencies. I strongly caution others, especially customers receiving services in this area, to be extremely careful, as you can see the reviews already.
