Predatory Towing I had an appointment at 1:30 PM at a commerce center and parked under a sign that stated: "No overnight parking along guard rail. Violators may be towed at vehicle owner's expense." This was during the middle of the day, not overnight. The "private parking" signs are not located where I parked, and those signs apply to tenants or customers receiving services. Another sign I later saw mentioned unauthorized vehicles, which did not apply to me. While speaking with the mechanic, I described my vehicle and he responded, "the car on the tow truck." I said no, then realized my car was already hooked up. I ran up the hill to the tow operator, who stated I did not have a permit. I explained I was a customer receiving service and was not parked in a permit-only area. Despite this, I was forced to pay $175 to retrieve my vehicle. Both mechanics and the store manager attempted to intervene on my behalf. The manager stated, "It wasn't even five minutes ,you had to be watching," and both mechanics said, "You can't keep doing this to our customers." When I explained the situation to the person processing my payment, I was told there was nothing they could do. I later called the towing company again to explain the situation and was told the same. Only after stating that I believed the tow was illegal did I get told a manager would call me back, which never happened. The tow receipt did not list a reason for the tow, and the recorded time was 1:42 PM, further supporting how quickly and unfairly this occurred. I have since reported this incident to the police and notified consumer protection agencies. This company gets a triple zero rating. I was dropping off food to my daughter (who was visiting from out of town) and no visitor parking available. I am handicapped and can't do a lot of walking. I heard a loud noise, and we all went outside to find the tow truck with its lights out trying to tow my vehicle from very awkward position. The driver wanted money and when we paid, he started lowering my car and we kept hearing a strange loud noise. The driver left immediately. We went to get into my truck and the brake pedal went all the way down to the floor. We got out to examine and discovered that rotor was cracked in half and protruding through the rim. I called the company and the police. The Officer did a report as vandalism and gave me a report number. The Officer spoke with a dispatcher who appeared to try to justify the driver's action saying why didn't we say something when the driver was there? I told her that we couldn't have known this as it was apparent when we went to leave. The company makes you go all the way to Beltsville Md to fill out the damage report. The dispatcher provided the Officer with a tag number that did not register when the Officer called it in!!! It took 3 hours for me to get back home with a tow from another company!!! These predatory practices need to be reported to higher authorities and that is what I am going to do! It appears that the tags are not valid on the tow truck. Why did he turn off his truck lights? This is not the behavior of someone that is doing activities according to the law. They appear to have "snatch man" practices. When called to inquire about the belongings in the car, the lady who answered the phone was extremely unprofessional and nasty. Instead of answering my questions she proceeded to laugh as if this or her job was a joke. You would think a BUSINESS would conduct itself in that matter instead of laughing and mistreating customers but based on the multiple negative reviews I can see this business obviously doesn't care about its customers. Besides the terrible attitude of their employees, they also have no website with any information I was told on the last 3-4 times I have called and was told something different each time. So instead of answering what I was asking, I was directed to "read the policy on the website" that makes zero sense. So now when they come to my townhouse community they try and get my vehicle for any little thing. Today they towed my truck for part of my bumper being in the yellow fire lane. I wanted to leave a positive review due to the kindness of this company. My car was towed due to a misunderstanding at my apartment complex. They started repainting parking spots to make some "reserved" without due notice to residents. My car was towed overnight for parking in a new reserved parking spot unknowingly and when I called and explained the situation to Prince George's Towing, they were sympathetic and lowered the fee by $110. When I picked up my car, he (I wish I knew his name!) was just as nice and honored the price I was given over the phone. ZERO STARS! This week Prince George Towing and Recovery repossessed my rental car legally parked in a visitor parking spot at 2:07AM. At around 3AM, my husband discovered that my rental car was missing from the parking lot and was able to find the towing phone number. I called and spoke to a lady who informed me that my car cannot be parked in a visitor spot after 9PM. She told me to refer to my rental contract, NOWHERE in my contract does it state we cannot park in the visitor parking spot. It's a VISITOR parking spot for a reason. And mind you it was not parked in that spot for days but about 6 hours as we had just got home from a road trip. I have lived at this property for over two years and in those two years have had visitors stay over and park in the visitor spot without issue. The only resolution offered was for us to awake our kids and haul them to pick up my rental car at 4AM, which was a school night and pay $175! When we arrived to the towing company, the lady at the window was very short and rude and eventually slammed the window in my face as I was expressing how illegal the actions of this towing company are. My car was towed by this company which I do not have a problem with at all. The towing fee is $175. It goes up to $225, and extra $50 if you go past the 24 hour time frame to pick up the vehicle. Now, my car was towed at 2:33 AM on Saturday, November 11, 2017. I am supposed to pick it up by 2:33 AM on Sunday, November 12, 2017. I had a double shift that Saturday going into Sunday night, so I could get the money to pay for the towing fee. I take the Uber to Prince George's Towing, and I am luck enough to arrive there at 2:20 AM, however, there is no employee available to help me. So, I call the business, and someone over the phone tells me that the individual will be coming soon to help me, but he's currently towing other cars. I wait for about 20 minutes until 2:40 AM, it is now past the time and the system automatically jumps the price to an extra $50, $225 in total. I have to pay the whole fee, in order to, get my car back, but I'm told that I can get a refund if I contact management between Monday & Friday, and the individual who was finalizing my payment would vouch for me to confirm that I came on time. So, I call management that following Wednesday to get the refund back, yet he tells me that because I came 13 minutes before the expiration time, I cannot get my refund. He went on to mention that if it was 30 or 45 minutes, then it would have been okay. He alluded to the fact that because I came at that time, it is my fault but I told him that I was at work, and I couldn't come as early as I would like. He did not care and did not want to follow their 24 hour policy for storage fees, so he decided to be petty. The most disrespectful part of this customer service charade, there was a lack of empathy of the situation, and he felt the need to be greedy to get as much money as possible out of me. It is ridiculous to see a towing company make thousands of dollars every month from taking cars to really want an extra $50 out of a college student struggling already to pay for rent. Towed our car from Brook Mill condo on 9/6 because we had a visitors permit and had parked in a "regular" resident space. Okay, so we paid the $175, but when we went to drive off, the car was not drivable, it was making a loud noise, we got down the street and returned to the towing place; so we returned to PG towing and told them this was a problem. We completed a Damage Claim form and the manager Rolanda Ford said she would follow up with us. We had to have the car towed to a mechanic and turns out, when they towed the car , they must of towed by the stabilizer bar, bushings had been pulled out of the retainers. Cost $125 to repair. We are asking for them to pay for damage they caused when they towed. We have made multiple calls to the manager and I have gone by PG towing 4 times AND still no return call from the manager, I have asked for the owners name and number and no one who works there seems to know. So we will be taking the case to court. I am done attempting to reach out to them. This happened on Sept 6, 2022, its Oct 11th and no return call from them. They will avoid you and lie. We were visiting our daughter at Parkside Apartments and got a parking pass from one of the desk attendants, and parked in the visitors space. It was 5:45pm. 1.5 hours later, we came outside and our car was gone. Prince George's Towing confirmed over the phone that they'd taken our car, and I asked politely about why, when there was a parking pass in full display on the rearview mirror. The woman was extremely rude and told me it was backwards, so they had full right to tow the car. The date and validation were clearly visible from a driver or passenger window, yet they insisted that because it was backwards, we had to pay $175 to get our car back. Parkside Apartments has so far not been helpful in resolving this matter. Prince George's Towing is a criminal organization, and anyone contracting with them should think twice--it will hurt your business. I have been parking in the SAME handicapped parking space for more than 9 years (NINE YEARS). There is NO way they do not know that I have a handicapped handtag.
