Review for Yaffa Grill - Mediterranean Cuisine Rating: 5/5 - Amazing! We stopped by Yaffa Grill late at night and were thrilled to find it still open and welcoming. We ordered items 15 and 16 from the menu--the vegetarian kebab and the vegetarian platter--and every single bite was absolutely delicious. Fresh, flavorful, and perfectly spiced, the dishes were clearly made with care. To top it off, I had hot tea with fresh mint, which was the perfect way to wind down the evening. The woman working was incredibly kind and made us feel right at home. The atmosphere was clean and relaxed, and everything about the experience left us feeling nourished and very grateful. Highly recommend for anyone craving Mediterranean comfort food with heart. We are only passing through on a trip but if we are nearby again we will definitely be back!

With Sahara closed for the Summer, I thought I'd try Yaffa Grill while in Georgetown. I ordered the Tawook Chicken Wrap. A good sized wrap stuffed with chicken, salad, pickles and garlic sauce. I added an order of Dolmades, six delicious rice stuffed grape leaves, with one difference to most, a drizzle of pomegranate. Nice. Check it out if you're nearby. 58

I was pleased with the fact that olive oil, pepper and salt were present on the table. This was genuinely the best hummus I have ever had the lamb and chicken were so tender, and the olive oil tasted authentic as well! The pita bread was so Soft, warm and fluffy. They were kind enough to get us another basket as well! Salad was not the best tasting- I recommend substituting your salad for fries or extra rice. Booths and tables available inside.

We sat mostly on the front patio with a table or two inside later in the evening. Everyone ordered their own food and drinks. Adam and his bar staff took great care of us. I got the fried chicken (again) with a side of real mashed potatoes and gravy. It was fantastic (again). I really should try something else sometime. But others did and I heard no complaints. They serve breakfast any time and a couple got omelettes and cleaned their plates, raving about the hashbrowns (no meat fat to cook, so vegetarian friendly). All the cocktails were good. New seasonal menu had just started and the Marmalade Sour got good reviews. They have a larger patio out back and an ample dining room. It's a great stop when in Georgetown. Pics from my last visit but still accurate.

After leaving yet another distillery, the ladies in our group wanted to head to Georgetown for some shopping. But before the shopping could begin, we needed lunch. We had stopped at Fava's a few weeks earlier with another group of friends for breakfast, and it was excellent. With that great experience in mind, we decided to try Fava's again, this time for lunch. The décor is classic Old Town Kentucky--exactly the kind of place that brings back childhood memories of small-town restaurants. Charming, comfortable, and familiar. We seated ourselves and looked over the menu. I went with the chili cheese hot dog with fries. My wife and one of our friends chose the open-faced Reuben, and the last member of our group ordered the club sandwich. Every dish was excellent. The club sandwich was so large it required a to-go box. Before leaving, everyone except me ordered pie to go-- Fava's pies are legendary, at least to my wife and me. I skipped dessert this time and immediately regretted missing their ice cream options. We dropped the pies off in the car (it was cold enough outside to keep them safe), and then the ladies headed off to explore the shops of Georgetown. And I cannot leave out the wait staff, very attentive and friendly . This was my second visit to Fava's, and both times have been outstanding. I'm already looking forward to our next "shopping trip" to Georgetown so I can enjoy their food again--and this time, I won't miss out on the ice cream.

After leaving yet another distillery, the ladies in our group wanted to head to Georgetown for some shopping. The other guy in our party was about as thrilled at the idea of shopping as he'd be about getting a root canal without anesthesia--and I was in full agreement. As we searched for a parking spot along the crowded Georgetown Main Street, I spotted Chinquapin Brewing and immediately declared that the men would be there. "Just come pick us up when you're done," I told them. My wife and our friend were more than happy to leave us in front of TVs and beer while they wandered in and out of the local shops. It was the first time either of us had been to the brewery. Right away, I loved seeing the brewing equipment set up in the back of the bar. We scanned the QR code on the table and pulled up the beer menu. I'm a big fan of red ales and was happy to see one offered. My friend is less adventurous than I am, so he stuck with his tried-and-true Guinness. I opened a tab, and we started enjoying our beers. The red ale was very good--so good that I ordered more than one. My friend's Guinness was going down way too easily, and he ordered another as well. Eventually, the ladies came to retrieve us, and my wife even added a bourbon to my tab. We sat together and enjoyed one last round. We didn't try any food, but the beer and the service were excellent. I'm already looking forward to our next "shopping trip" to Georgetown so I can sample more of their offerings.

The atmosphere is super cozy and we felt welcomed from our first steps in. We were warmly greeted by the hostess and we met Michaela who took fabulous care of us for the evening! We settled in to a couple of their specialty cocktails (midwinters night dream and cardamaro manhattans - yummy I'll say) and the Brussel Sprout starter. Let me say to come hungry because the portions are large but yummy. The sprouts are a meal all by themselves! But there's more! I had the porcini rubbed filet and Teresa had the cabbage confit. Both portions were sizable and while I know she loved her cabbage, I was in heaven with a perfectly prepared filet that just melted in my mouth. Plus the asparagus spears and the Okinawa sweet potato mash were perfect accompaniment! Sadly, there was so much goodness we ended up bringing some home and we'll have to come back for dessert and another menu sampling. All in all a very memorable experience and a great place for a birthday dinner! But we'll be back just because! Special closing shout out to Michaela for taking such great care of us.
