Okay, so I've been a customer since 1982. They were very good for many years however the last few months have been frustrating to me. In Sept 2023 they forced us out of the garbage bin we'd been happily paying for on time or in advance for around 25 years then replaced it with 3 large cans that I was told would hold about the same amount. NOT. Then the price more than doubled. A year ago I would have given them 5 stars but now it's 3 at best. I do not think they really have that "friend and family" attitude anymore that they advertise on their website. When I called to talk to someone about making us change over to cans and asked to have them review my account they were not very helpful and even though they promised to get back to me after they reviewed my service no one ever did. They changed from people actually picking up the garbage to automated service and that's why they forced people to give up their garbage bins. They really don't care about the customers needs. We live in the country and have tons of garbage to get rid of and I also have a business that has a lot of large boxes to get rid of. I do not have a way to drive them to the dump so now they are just stacking up. Not happy here. It would be nice if they actually cared about their customers needs. read more

We have been using Yakima Waste Systems for our trash, recycling, and yard waste since we moved from Spokane to Yakima in late July 2020. The monthly bill is about $61, and we have had RECURRING issues with their trash and recycling service in the time we have been here. One morning we didn't get the trash can out early enough, so that was our bad. However, given that we have only lived here 6 months, it is unacceptable that we have had 4 missed trash pickups, and 3 missed recycling pickups. Each time we have to call and are treated condescendingly by the customer service staff, who defend their drivers. The drivers are apparently lazy or incompetent or both, with the customer service staff always stating that the can was not out or citing some other blatantly false "driver note", since we put our cans out at the curb the NIGHT BEFORE (after having the one missed trash pickup that was our bad). We even take special care to push the cans a couple of feet out from the curb, and there is nothing on either side of the cans in either direction. We are seriously considering using the free recycling bins at the landfill and taking the trash elsewhere. Avoid if you can, and if you can't, be warned. 1 star as a courtesy; this is really a zero star business. read more
