I have very happily relied on Darren Mann at Yaletown Plumbing since 2014. He has responded to a wide variety of our plumbing needs at the condo over the years, including blocked toilet/ sinks, garburator issues and replacement of hoses. The quality of his service is exceptional and I have found his charges to be very reasonable. Darren is professionally friendly, responsive, on time (or immediately lets you if there might be a short delay). He is very knowledgeable on a variety of plumbing matters and explains things well. Going Beyond the Usual : Darren has gone out of his way to source replacement faucet for our obsolete faucet/challenging bathroom sink set up. Daren has also provided great preventive advice, e.g. noticing a bathroom toilet turn off tap that was at risk of failing- I sincerely wish I had been quicker to employ that advice. One weekend evening in early January, the toilet plugged, overflowed and shut off tap failed (as Darren suggested it might in the future). Yaletown Plumbing isn't open on the weekend. So I had to call the emergency services of different Vancouver plumbing company ( who will not be named here). The result was to pay almost $1000 (which included the most bizarre set of charges for a plumbing job) . Normally this would have cost a few hundred dollars. If Darren mentions or suggest some plumbing matter needs attention, take it to heart. You won't regret it. read more

My rental unit's kitchen sink was leaking and my friend referred me to Yaletown Plumbing as he has used Darren's services before and recommended him. The online scheduling was a breeze and I was also able to upload the photo my tenant sent me to assist with the diagnostics. Darren responded via email within an hour and was able to fit in a visit and repair/replace the sink today!! He also called me to go over what the charges may be to get my authorization prior to the visit so I that I was informed what the reason/cost may be. I can't believe this business isn't reviewed here yet -- such an amazing, honest plumber. He was referred to us by our property management company who uses them to service their tenants. We moved out of our condo and needed to get a few things fixed in order to rent it. Darren (owner) came by and quickly fixed everything I needed ... and for an affordable price. He charges an hourly rate and doesn't charge any travel fee. On our bathroom sink, I thought I'd have to replace the drain. He advised that it was a costly option, but he made other less expensive adjustments that resolved the slow drain issue without needing to replace anything! Bottom line, he could have easily bilked me out of money, but didn't. I appreciated his attention to detail and focus on customer service. one of the bathroom of my rental unit doesn't have enough hot water so i book an appointment with Darren. he asked me show him the pics of the faucet and description of the issue, i did so. and he is able to quick provide me a quote and solution on weekend. i didn't on side on the schedule day as i have to be on a meeting so he dealing with my tenant directly. after the service, he provided me a detailed description of the issue and what he did to fix it, the final price is a bit higher than quote as he need to use 4 tile bits so he detailed write down the reason why he need it instead of just billing me a higher amount. i appreciate it as his behave is very professional and trustable. i had 2 plumber in before but not able to fix the problem i am glad this issue been fixed. read more

I had several things to repair or install in an apartement and I am totally satisfied with Darren's service. I have an account with him that makes it easy to send a request. My kitchen sink was clogged and the pipe was also leaking a bit at 10 pm. I was a bit worried because of the leak. I found Yaletown Plumbing Services here and filled out booking request form at 1 am. Darren emailed me back in the morning and was able to fit me in quickly and helped me to fix the clog and the leak. The whole process was super smooth and Darren is such a friendly guy. Reviews don't lie! I cannot say enough nice things about this young man Darren, who made time to come over to my condo so quickly recently. The other night my shower drain clogged and backed up with all this disgusting dirty water, crud and anything else you can think of. I began freaking out and eventually found Yaletown Plumbing on Yelp and read all the nice reviews. Before I knew it after making initial contact through their website, I received a nice email back from Darren saying that he could come by the next day in the early afternoon. When Darren arrived, he was courteous, professional and humorous making an already stressful situation all the more comfortable. He quickly went to work on clearing the clog and gave me tips on how to prevent it again in the future. We chatted on and off while he worked, and it was just a very pleasant experience! At the end, he gave me my invoice which was reasonable and I was very happy to give him a nice tip on top of it all! We are having some work done on our home and needed some plumbing reattached (we are very good at taking things apart but not so adept at piecing them together again). I followed the advice of my fellow Yelpers and they did not lead me astray! Throughout the booking process Darren, the owner, was very kind and made sure to ask us questions to give us the most accurate estimate. The cost was very reasonable (about a 1/3 of what we had been quoted elsewhere). The online profile system allows you to upload photos of your work too, which helps them out a lot since if you're a layperson like me, you don't know any of the proper terms for what it is you want done exactly!! A picture is always better! Darren arrived right on time and within an hour everything was out back together, tested out and cleaned up. You can pay electronically (he brings an iPad) and by the time he's driving away you have your invoice in your inbox and fresh piping to enjoy. I was getting my floors refinished, and Christian came out and pulled out my toilets, sink, and dishwasher, and then had to come out twice to put them back in when the re-sealing of my concrete floors & counters went more slowly than planned because of the rain. I'm really glad I found out about Yaletown Plumbing Services on Yelp (thanks, fellow Yelpers!). I was putting off finding a plumber for months and needed to replace the lines to my washing machine. The delivery guys who had installed my washer/dryer combo had installed my machines sticking out of the closet as their standard lines were too short. They also told me that my floor was not level, and said to not push my machines against the wall of my closet. All the positive 5-star reviews for Yaletown Plumbing Services are well-deserved. I contacted Darren via the website and got a response very quickly. He asked me to send him photos as well so that he understood what I meant (it is safe to say that I know zero about plumbing). He gave me a quote and I used their handy online booking system to schedule an appointment for my next day off. Darren immediately contacted me back and gave me a 30-minute window to expect his arrival. Well, today was the day of my scheduled repair and Darren arrived within five minutes of the start of the timeslot he gave me! :) He replaced the lines, tested my washing machine 4 times to make sure there weren't any leaks, and carefully pushed my washer/dryer combo back. He assured me that my floor was level (those delivery guys sure were wrong about everything! ) and gave me a tip about the upkeep of my washing machine. I was charged exactly what he quoted and could pay by credit card, and received an invoice and payment confirmation by email right away. It was my first time ever hiring a plumber so I don't have a previous experience to compare it with--but I have to say, I was extremely impressed with Darren's responsiveness, punctuality, and friendliness.
