This place is good when other bars in the area are too loud (I'm old now, so that type of noise isn't as appealing as it once was). The bartender on the Saturday I went was all business to my friend and I, but personable to others (we were definitely tipping each drink, so don't think it was a "being cheap" issue) -- maybe because we weren't really engaging or something. I live closer to another bar in the area, but the service and bartenders here are just way friendlier and attentive. It should speak volumes that I prefer to drive a few miles rather than walking a few blocks to have my cocktails. Nice mix of patrons, all ages and types of good people. Drink prices very reasonable whether its a cocktail, glass of wine or a beer. Plenty of tables and a nice long bar with good seating. I have been going in there off and on for over 20 years when I'm in the area. There have been many great bartenders through out the years. Hayley, Rebecca just to name a couple examples. But lately it has gone down, I will not be coming back any time soon. Gabby can be nice but she is a snake. I have watched her treat people horribly just because she doesn't like them. I am in Hospitality and if you can't separate your personal from your professional you should not be in the business. It is such a waste of a great place. I don't get it! Seriously the quietest bar I've been in. Bartender was nice, I ordered a beer and got on my iPad. An hour and a half later I asked for my check. 3 beers $18.00. This bar seems to be getting worse every time I come here. I'm not sure of the name of the black haired bartender who works on Friday nights, but she will skip over songs you've paid for just to play the songs she wants to hear, she rolls joints on the bar with her friends, or smokes her vape pen right there upfront. 1 star if that for this place at night. The bartender doesn't smile and has a very bad attitude. They had empty containers of old cold food out. Apparently the bartender who supposedly made the food made me pay $10 for nothing. There was one or two dried up noodles left in about 4-5 aluminum pans. The bartender kicked me out and said I needed to pay $10 for absolutely nothing. This same bartender was rude to my friend during another visit. My friend told her that the soda didn't taste right in her drink so the bartender named Sarah took her drink and threw it in the sink while spattering the drink on both of us. What a shame because there have been good bartenders in the past. It's to bad I even had to give 1 star. Horrible! Obviously dealing with customers isn't something she is good at. Oh and by the way, where is her food permit to sell food in this bar? Will be reported for sure! Owners beware she is selling food and you can be held liable. Not a good thing! read more

I was greeted by a rude lady that I've never seen here before. She seemed to not be friendly to women and younger ladies, making them wait a long time for drinks when they bar was almost empty. She didn't know how to make numerous simple drinks. It's one thing to be new at an establishment or job position. It's another to just be rude to people who put money in a business. This is the coolest bar in town the drinks are affordable and they have darts and shuffle board. Jell-O shots 2dollars which are so delicious. My bartender was Sarah she was very attentive and made excellent drinks. They also have a Juke box and you can listen to whatever you want. This is a decent little "divey" local bar without the bad pretending to be cool attitude. been here three times and the barstaff has always been friendly and pours a decent drink. other key pros: - have "arrangements" with Bobs House (Korean/Afghan) on one side and the mexican place on the other. people can order there and bring food in. they even clear the plates for you. - enough TV's to watch the appropriate sports that are on at the moment (basically the Giants and Sharks in my humble opinion) - the crowd is reasonable - mix of the younger local drunks guys, after work folks, and post softball crowd - prices are reasonable. some of the key "cons": - limited selection of top shelf products - limited knowledge of spirits by wait staff example of this - asked what bourbons they had - he started down the list ... Makers, Jack, Gentleman Jack, Seagrams, Wild Turkey, ... that is where I stopped him. Dude, of that list only the Makers is a bourbon. And when I ordered my traditional Manhattan, he had a hard time finding the vermouth - and he shook it way too long. On the other hand, he knew what a Press was. For those of you with the quizzical looks on your faces right now, a press is 1/2 7up and 1/2 club soda with your spirit of choice - generally bourbon or whiskey but sometimes with vodka. So while he lost a star for listing Jack and Seagrams as a bourbon, he got it right back with that. And on a side note - I saw a few recent reviews that mentioned high prices, not sure where that is coming from. our first order tonight was a Makers Press and a Makers Manhattan - total was $10. That is pretty damn reasonable. Draft beer is $4.50 a pint and $3.50 during happy hour (which includes Thur from 8pm-10pm). so again, I think that is reasonable. So not sure where the high price comments are coming from, but $3.50 for a pint of Longboard, Speakeasy, Sierra, or Fat Time is pretty reasonable these days. And I was going to say it sure beat the heck out of Chevy's if you are looking for a place walking distance from BART. But I noticed tonight that Chevy's is now closed. So this is definitely the best place on this side of BART. read more

The beer selection is limited, but they have the standard beers (Bud, Stella, etc). I didn't try mix drinks since I already had few drinks at work (I told you it was a long day). With a couple friends we came in here to enjoy the rest of our evening. I yelped "dive bar" for Pleasanton. I really didn't think anything would come up. But this place did and we decided to go. My only instruction from one of my friends was, no country music. Ok, they have a juke box here. One of those new fangled ones that you pay with your credit card and they have every song known to man. So I knew I could combat any country music if needed. As we walked in Back Street Boys were playing. Myself and anyone I actually hang out with do not, ever, listen to the Back Street Boys. This was a bad sign. Little did I know the other patrons were really into R&B and Rap & terrible pop music. I learned something this night, something very important. AMI juke boxes have an app. In the app you can pay for your songs and you can pay extra to have them played first. I did not know this before hand. I now this every where I go that has this type of juke box. Even though most of the music we heard was absolutely awful we sat and enjoyed ourselves. I stuck to my greyhounds and my partners had beers all around. There was only one bartender for this room and off and on it got pretty busy. I affectionately referred to the bartender as 8 Mile. He looked like Eminems reject cousin, just saying. It was a lively night and we met a lot of great people. Some not so great like the guy who looked like an extra on Silicon Valley that was so drunk when we got there that later that night the cops were called because he slapped his girlfriend out front. Yes, as we were sitting and kibitzing at our seat inside 4 cops walked in. I looked down and said to myself my names Paul and this is in between y'all. I never saw the event happen but apparently others did and the bartender called the cops, and dude was taken away. Not your normal idea of a bar fight. Theyre mostly tech dorks here so don't worry about a big brawl. You'll be fine. I am not the kind of person that attends a Dive bar in a regular basis. Actually, very few and between times. I recently started to visit this place. My life right now is a little out place, coming to this dive bar brings familiar faces and friendly people that make the experience super easy especially if you are a girl. I have special likes for Zack and Haley. They have been taken care of me and to be honest, is easy to make this place you regular pit stop.
