I have a beloved pair of MODO Eyewear glasses that I wear all the time, and when it came time to get new specs, I wanted the exact same frame. I looked around where I live (Indiana) and could not find my frame anywhere. So I reached out to Spectacle Optometry in Orange County, because I saw on their website that they carry or can order MODO frames. Spectacle came through! I was able to order my exact frame, in the exact color, directly from them. I gave them my prescription, and they asked me via email a few questions about lens preferences. This is another area where I wanted something very specific (surprise, surprise), and Spectacle was able to dial in my lenses to my exact specifications. When you wear glasses all the time like me, I feel that it's important to love your glasses. I absolutely love mine! Spectacle Optometry was wonderful to work with, especially considering that I couldn't visit them in person because I live more than 1,800 miles away. Setting up my appointment and setting up details like my vision insurance was relatively simple. The staff working the front desk are always super friendly and accommodating. I had a good feeling about them just talking on the phone to set up my first visit. Their location is tucked away amongst other shops and restaurants, so parking is very easy to find. Its a nice excuse to go shopping before and/or after my eye appointment for sure! Dr. Dao is extremely personable, knowledgeable, and does her job quickly. She takes the time to answer your questions and is so fun to talk to! After my appointment, the front desk helped me with next steps and said they would call me once my new contacts were ready. They're always very prompt so I don't need to worry about calling to check on my orders with them. He explained the slight vision change I had, and explained every number he was putting in the prescription for glasses. From start to finish it took one hour. Went to get eyes checked for glasses and mentioned my eyes have always been difficult to get right due to underlying issues. To explain, I did go elsewhere before where they would fix until the glasses were finally correct, but it was a revolving door of optometrists that I thought maybe had to do with skill. I thought with the reviews here, maybe they could get it right the first time. But, they didn't, and are strict about redo. They were polite about everything but realistically if a patient lets you know their eyes have issues, perhaps there could be another solution versus releasing a prescription that isn't quite right and making no exceptions for more than 1 redo. I am $300 down with glasses I can't even wear. My suggestion is, if yours eyes are more problematic, perhaps go elsewhere that is more understanding and has more lenient redo policy. If it's pretty straightforward, then this place is fine and has a nice selection of glasses.
