Currently sitting in the waiting area right now as I'm typing this out. I made an appointment on Monday 8:30am, came in and the guy at the front desk said he sees nothing. Then he immediately asked me if I made the appointment online and if I received a confirmation, and I said I saw it's confirmed on the screen. And he asked if we got an email? I mean, ...as if the customer is the one to blame ? Then he said there is a 9:15 about another hour wait, and said, you can just hang out here and wait. Wait a second ! I took the time from my work, drive out there to get my annual, and now your system made a mistake and I had to pay for it with my time and the lack of hours I missed working and making money! Are you serious ? ??? The doctor is fine, I mean, expected, but the way they handle these situations are terrible. The guy at the front desk on 3/9 Monday morning, literally said " I just work here, if you want to complain, you can wait until my manager gets here in like 40 mins or come back another day" Like other customer complains, my time is precious and not being able to see patients when appointments are confirmed online should be taken seriously. If we need to bring confirmation email or proof, as long as it's notified, we are happy to do so. But when it's not the patients fault, they need to make up for our time. read more

Was a good choice before my doc retired and the business was sold. Now it seems to be all about money. My eyes are in good shape and only required readers. The optician was very nice but was definitely pushing to up sell frames and extras to the lenses way beyond my insurance. When I received my glasses they were impossible to wear. It was like looking through an aquarium. They made me dizzy and actually nauseous. I returned to the office and told them about it. They seemed sympathetic and took the glasses back to see what they could do. About 6 weeks later they notified me my glasses were in. I was relieved but when I went in to pick them up they were exactly the same. Now the optician was in a rush for me to leave saying maybe they will be better at home. What??? Well I left with glasses I am unable to see through, $300. out of pocket and insurance wasted. Never to return! read more

Just got back from my daughter's annual visit and not happy. Seems like they are turning to shady business practices. They charged us $10 copay for eye exam and $40 copay for a "contact fitting". I asked what this was and it was basically the 10 seconds where they tested her eyesight with the contacts in. How is this not part of the eye test? I feel ripped off and they lost our future business. Too bad because we like Dr. Chen. Also, suddenly they are pushing us to switch to daily contacts and there was a new form with the registration asking to pay $39 out of pocket for some unnecessary eye test. read more

I was giving up on wearing contacts until Dr Jeff Chen helped me. I have keratoconus and dry eyes. I have been seeing Dr Dougal for years and don't get me wrong he took care of my eyes very well. Unfortunately, this last year Dr Dougal retired and my eyes have just had enough of that unbearable bad comfort of my standard rigid gas permeable contacts, needed for keratoconus. Luckily for me, my next appointment was with Dr Chen and he saw me with a new set of eyes and suggested the Scleral contact lens for me. The Sclera lens is a rigid lens that is at least twice the size of the standard lens, but it rests only on the sclera part of the eye (the white part of the eye) and maintains a tear cushion over the cornea. It does take a little work learning how to use a plunger to insert the Scleral lenses and a suction cup tool to take them out, but Jessica did a great job teaching me. And oh... the COMFORT of these Scleral lenses is AMAZING! Once I could not live without my eye drops, now I barely need to use them. Thank you Dr Chen for giving me my excellent vision back, with comfort! And the entire staff are amazingly nice and eager to help in every way from greeting you by your name, with your glasses and your insurance issues. read more

Do not waste your time or money at this place! The optometrist is great. However, the sales team and customer service is the worst. They are quick to nickel and dime you, process your insurance and give you false information. As a customer, I know when I'm getting the run around from a company. Almost 8 weeks waiting for my glasses, when they estimated 2-3 weeks. I call and they blame it on the lab, they tell me the manager will call me because apparently they are NEVER there. I used to recommend people to this place because it was close to our corporate office and convenient. Never again!! read more

I read the good reviews and since this is right around the corner from where I live, I decided to give it a try. Veronica helped book me for a last minute appointment and Jacqueline had me fill out the health questionnaire and I was good to go with Dr. Chen. I technically have 20/20 vision, but with dry eyes my vision seem hazy, especially working 10-12 hours a day staring at a computer screen. Dr. Chen was very kind and helpful in explaining other ways in addition to artificial tears to alleviate my dry eyes (warm compresses and gels at bedtime + f.lux). Dr. Chen is an amazing optometrist, friendly, informative, and accommodating. I haven't worn glasses in 4 years because my prescription gives me a headache and so I usually throw away my glasses after a week. Dr. Chen scaled back the prescription (contacts) and it made all the difference. I think this is one of the most professional dr offices I have ever gone to. They are excellent on the phone making the appointment and also reminding you of it a day or two before you need to be there. When you arrive they greet you by name and you are quickly taken to do the usual tests...plus no dialiating your eyes they have equipment that takes a photo instead. Dr Swearingen was thorough in explaining everything he saw and was very cheerful and friendly. ..like an old friend. ..very easy to communicate with. I had to change my review! Lindsey made my 4 star review turn to a 5! I came back because my contaxts that were given to try were not working for me. I am so happy woth all the staff. I called and got an appt the next day, received reminder texts and was immediately taken in when i arrived. I was not planning on getting glasses because last time i came i looked and wasnt impressed. However a big HOWEVER today i was sent to Lindsey. She gave me the 1:1 attention that was needed. She is an expert on glasses and tells you what looks good and what doesnt. Actually the first glasses she chose for me based on a picture of glasses i used to have and wanted but are discontinued were the winners. She pulled more for me just so i can be 100%sure and also allowed me to look. She also cleaned every lense i grabbed for covid reasons which says a lot about them.
