Pretty average hotpot spot. The good thing about this place is that you can do all you can eat. I would be careful with ordering a lot because they do bring out big portions of anything you order. You pretty much pick the broth you want and you get your own hotpot. There's a little section for you to go make your own sauce. Compared to a lot of other hotpot places I've had before, the sauce selection here wasn't that big, but we also aren't from here. You let your server know what all you want meat wise, seafood wise, vegetable wise, etc and they bring it out to you. We didn't order that much, and I'm glad we didn't because they brought out a pretty big proportion of each thing we ordered. read more

This place offers the best hot pot in town. I always get the all you can eat hot pot. You pick a broth and then pick as many of the proteins, seafood, and veggies you want, and then you pick your noodle. They literally have dang near any option you would want. Great as a vegetarian option as well. They also have a small sauce bar set up as well that has everything you could want on it. The food has always been fresh and service is pretty good. Not overly friendly by any means, but they get the job done. Also, all the times I've been u have noticed that once you get your food they don't check on you much and if you need something you have to get their attention. They do keep an eye on you though as they always keep your drinks filled. 10/10 would recommend. read more

The other people in my party enjoyed the hot pot (warning, even though it is enough food for two, they will yell at you for sharing food). When I ordered my meal, the waitress continued to take my order down wrong, resulting in my order being wrong. The ambiance was nice, the restaurant is fairly small with only two or three people working in total. Do take in mind they have strict rules, such as no sharing, making sure you leave no more than 250 grams of food (or they will charge you again), and tip being automatically 18%. If you plan on coming here for dinner on a weekend, I would recommend reserving a table as the wait can take a while. read more

So it took a 3 day adventure to finally get to eat at this restaurant but it was worth it! My sister mentioned they had a very good lunch special here so I stopped by in the early afternoon on Day 1 to find I was about 10 minutes past the lunch special time. Day 2 I stopped by to find they were randomly closed in the middle of the week. Supposedly they do this from time to time, so it might be good to call ahead or check their Facebook page for updates. Thankfully I got a pho fix from a restaurant farther down in the plaza. Day 3 I FINALLY made it to Yang's Shabu Shabu to try their lunch special! The lunch special is a great deal, for $9 you get vegetables, your choice of meat, and your choice of broth. They have a sauce station to create a dipping sauce (with Chinese BBQ/Shacha sauce available upon request). My sister recommended the lamb with hot and spicy broth and it did not disappoint. They serve a steaming hot bowl of broth on a heater in the table to control the temperature. You cook the vegetables and meat to your preference. Perfect for a cold or rainy day. Their selection of bubble teas is also pretty good. Yummy and filling comfort food. read more

I usually stick with herb broth. Beef, chicken, lamb, pork, napa cabbage, broccoli, sweet potato, rice noodles, carrots, and rice are our group's staples. I always add fish tofu, taro, and mussels. The last time we had a bigger group & got fish balls (they were the filled with pork kind!), beef balls, bok choy, tofu, and lo mein. The sauce bar is awesome. There's all sorts of goodies like sesame sauce, peanut sauce, yuzu, jalapeno soy sauce, hoisin, chopped cilantro & green onion, etc. Folks are friendly but stay out of your way unless needed. I've ate hot pot all around the world (Ok, maybe just US and China mostly) but I know what hot pot is all about, and this place does it well (especially for Evansville). The restaurant is located in a nondescript strip mall so you may miss it, once you get inside you'll notice a few tables with built in induction burners. It's never busy when I went, but never empty either (always a few customers eating or getting pick-up). Not the prettiest restaurant, but seems clean and definitely not crowded. You have options for both hot-pot (All you can eat) or can order chinese dishes (Americanized Chinese from what it looks like). Never ordered a dish so can't comment on that, but the did hot-pot twice. There is a very good selection of meats, vegetables, and others including (Lamb, Beef, Pork, Chicken, beef balls, fish tofu, soft tofu, frozen tofu, tofu skin, spinach, etc.). The lamb and beef were very tender, and food comes out quickly as well. There are a number decent selection for broths (spicy, traditional, etc.) but I always prefer the spicy broth. The flavor of the broth isn't close to what you'll get at a Hai Di Lao, Little Sheep, or other major hot pot chain but it was decent. The only main downside for the place is that they have a sauce bar to mix your own dipping sauce, but it's not that great - small selection, sesame sauce was very liquidy, and missing other great sauce items (fermented tofu, hot chili oil). Regardless, came here twice in 1 week, so there's that. read more

I tried Yang's Shabu Shabu for a quick dinner after a long day. When I came in I was the only person in the restaurant which scared me. I ordered a seafood combination hot pot and bubble tea. The hot pot was good, but be prepared the seafood is served frozen. Maybe it's presumptuous of me to expect fresh seafood in Indiana...but I did. There was a good variety of vegetables served with the combo and the flavor of the broth and dipping sauces were good. The service was a little slow and inattentive. I didn't need a lot, but refills of water would have been nice. Overall, I will try this place again, maybe with traditional meats for the hot pot. read more

Great food! We've eaten here many times and never been disappointed. This place really deserves to do well. It's unique, the people who run the restaurant work hard and provide a great service. Seriously worth trying the hotpot. For those unfamiliar with the concept, choose a broth/soup, choose a noodle and a meat (or fish or not) then choose Veggies. Create your own dipping sauce and then Cook your own food in your broth. Take about 3 minutes or so to Cook the thinly sliced meats and vegetables. Dip in your sauce and eat. Tips: Use a basket for shrimp or they will be lost forever. Also use a basket to scoop your food out. If you chooses to use a fork don't put it in your mouth. It will burn you!! Watch out for the Ginger slices used to flavor the broths. They disguise themselves as potato but One bite of those and whooo!!!! You know it. Great restaurant and great concept. Try it !! read more

This was my daughter's choice for her birthday. I will be honest, I thought I would stick with one of my "normal" Chinese dishes. My daughter (who is not a very adventurous eater) said she was getting the "build your own". I had no clue what she was talking about. You pretty much choose your broth (hot &spicy for us), and then you can choose meat(s), vegetable(s) and noodles/rice all a la carte. We ordered 2 different dim sum which we all enjoyed.
