I feel like the local Chinese restaurant is a personal preference in taste and this one is not mine. The crab Rangoon is not creamy and almost has a tuna flavor. Most of the dishes are loaded with giant pieces of broccoli and water chestnuts and the sauces all taste similar to me. Service has always been good and the place has been around a while. read more

We have been eating at Chopsticks ever since they opened their doors over 34 years ago. Karen always stops to welcome us and ask how we are doing. She is so gracious. The food is always served quickly, hot and delicious. We have never left hungry. One of my favorites is the Kung po shrimp. It's pretty spicy and I love the peanuts on top. It has lots of shrimp too. Their Sweet n sour pork is the best around,as is their egg drop soup. Wonderful combination fried rice. Delicious egg rolls and crab Rangoon. Seating is roomy. Family Favorite! The food is always fresh and delicious. The owners and staff are very friendly and remember us when we come in. Tonight we started with delicious Wonton Soup. Followed by an egg roll with homemade sweet and sour sauce or hot mustard. Sauce. I had the Broccoli Chicken and my husband had the General Tso Chicken. Ordered General Tso Chicken and steamed rice with crab ragoons. The ragoons were really bland..like really bland and don't eat the orange sauce with it, it doesn't make it better. The chicken was extremely spicy, could have been just my personal preference on spice. This dish is very different from others..that's all I can say. It makes a good picture though. This is our favorite Chinese food place to eat at. Are usually get the Kung pow chicken and hot and sour soup with crab Rangoon and it is consistently delicious. Most of the wait staff have been here for years and know what we want so we don't even have to use the menu. They are always so friendly and the atmosphere is very nice. It seems the wait staff seems to know most of the clientele and treat them like friends. The owners Eddie and Karen are always friendly with everyone and very gracious. We've come here for years and travel an hour to eat here. To us, they're totally worth the drive. FYI: menu only, no buffet. read more

For me, the entire meal was ruined by the taste of the Crab Rangoon. They use tuna and it's not bland, it's terrible. Crab Rangoon is an important accompaniment to any Chinese meal. I'll never go back unless I just want their soup. They did have delicious Sweet & Sour Soup. read more

Worst Chinese food ever! Will not go back! "Crab" Rangoo was awful! I'm not convinced it was even crab. Tasted like tuna! Sauce on the beef and broccoli tasted like dog food gravy. Hubs got Mongolian "beef" had hardly any meat at all was all onions. And the "fried rice" I'm pretty sure it's steamed rice soaked in soy sauce. No egg or pea and carrots. Just super dark brown rice. The food is far from typical. I tried the wonton soup, which was fantastic. It was thick loaded with exotic vegetables and the wonton. I next tried the curry chicken, also very good. Arrived in Evansville for work. Had an early dinner before checking into hotel. I ordered the Shrimp Lo Main with egg drop soup, fried rice, and eggroll. First came the egg drop soup. A non-aromatic dish, but still the smooth, tasty egg in chicken broth delicacy. Enjoyable. The rest came on the next dish. Fried rice, delectible. Egg roll, golden brown, crispy with a cinnamon hint, and a bit of horseradish. Shrimp Lo Main had broccoli, carrots, and celery. Noodles were cooked aldente; perfect. If you were to judge a restaurant by where it is located or what it looks like on the outside, you would probably skip over this one and miss out on a hidden gem. In fact, I chose it one day because of where it was and what it looked like from the outside, mostly because having returned from China, I discovered that I could find more authentic food at places like these. The decor inside is nothing like... say... Yen Ching, but again it is the food that I was after. When I asked for certain things by their Chinese names, I could see the eyes of my waitress go wide and a small, cheeky grin appeared. I had changed the game. She said that while they didn't have some of the items on the menu, they could probably make them. I saw her go back and talk with what looked like the owner. Eventually the owner came over to chat with me and she asked how I knew these things and we got to talking about the semester I spent in China. After that, this restaurant has been my preferred Chinese restaurant and when I came in to ask about a large order for a group, she threw in the appetizers for free. The food is good... I don't think I have ever had anything that I didn't like and I am always willing to try a new dish here because I trust that it will be good. One of my favourite dishes... pre-China has always been Lemon Chicken and of the places that I have tried they are the closest to my favourite restaurant in California. The sauce is a good balance between tart and sweet and instead of a batter (that usually isn't cooked through), they bread their chicken and I prefer that. The Hot and Sour Soup is fantastic as well... although... it is hot, so just remember that ;). And the noodle dishes (Lo Mein) are really good as well. They are also good value for the quality and quantity of food. They also have a lunch deal, which is great if you want Chinese food, you don't want massive portions, but you also want to get your money's worth. Love this place, the staff are great, food is great, it is unassuming and very laid back... and for people who are skeptical of Chinese food, this is a nice place to go as well. read more

Tucked away in a little strip mall behind a car dealership, this little treasure can easily be overlooked. The decor is minimal, the service is friendly, and the seating is comfy-I'm glad we gave this place a try! We came in on a Friday for a late lunch and were the only ones there. Our waitress was prompt and friendly. We had to wait a few minutes on our food, which I actually enjoy since I like to think it was prepared fresh and not scooped out of a large container and warmed up. And if you like large portion sizes, you will not be disappointed. I ate until I was too full to function and I still have half of it left over for lunch tomorrow! I almost gave it 4 stars as I wish they had a few more vegetarian options. But the service saved it! Our waitress was extremely knowledgable about which dishes may have been cooked with beef or chicken stock, and offered plenty of alternatives. We ended up getting the Curry Bean Curd, Vegetable Lo Mein, a (giant) bowl of Vegetable Soup, and an order of Fried Wonton for just under $25. Everything I tried had a stand out flavor and we'll definitely be eating here again.
