Flowers welcome you to the village

Wow! We lived in Springfield thirty years ago and came up here to buy candles at the factory outlet, so of course we had to stop by on our road trip through Massachusetts. Things have changed!!! The village is HUGE and the shops have taken over the old factory. It's fun and easy to get lost in here, and they sell EVERYTHING here, not just candles. You will get very few "deals" here ( I paid $8-10 per candle back then) but it was buy one for $35 get one 50% off which is not a great deal. But the experience here is worth the stop! If you're a shopper, plan to stay a while. The employees are quite helpful when you need to find something! We popped into an outlet on the other side of the parking lot and there were overstock items at really good prices there- take a look! Enjoyed this shop and wish we lived closer!

Yankee candle village in Deerfield, Massachusetts is the largest Yankee candle store. It's over 2 acres of shopping experience and it all started with a young kid wanting to get his mom a gift and melted down some crayons and made a candle....this location has over 3 million visitors a year! Yankee candle Village has multiple themed rooms such as a room full of candles that are separated by desserts and food, a room that is themed by countries, themed by medieval, toy room, food court, kitchen area, man cave room, etc. They have more than just candles such as beauty section, dishes, clothes, toys, food, spices, ect. There is a candle experience to which you make your own candle with your own scent. You can also dip your hand in warm wax and get a mold of your hand. The other experience is making your very own candle stick. Although, the candles were pricey, they did have specials, buy 2 candles, get 2 candles free and several other deals as well as a reduced price area. There is a Yankee Candle outlet next to the main store with discontinued scents and marked down items. So, be prepared to spend hours exploring this giant candle store and do a memorable experience. If you're looking to save some money but still want a good quality candle then check out the outlet next door, but I can guarantee you will not leave empty handed. Cheers

During the holiday season, this place can be pretty crowded. Long line to pay. This place is fun though. If you are a fan of Yankee Candle products, you'll love this place. Big parking lot but during the holiday season, the parking lot can be full. You have to circle around a couple times to find a parking space.

We came here on Monday September 29th, 2024 around opening at 10AM. There were a few cars but generally the place was pretty dead. The outside is beautiful, I know there is a nice garden especially during fall time, it is ideal for photos however we did not tour the whole exterior. I'm a candle fan and was sad to see many Yankee stores close in my area, they are increasingly hard to find. I've seen tours of this facility online so had a good idea of what to expect. There are many videos on Youtube if you want to check it out beforehand. This village is essentially a huge store, similar to the gift shop you'd find at the Cracker Barrel country store/restaurant. Lots of knick knacks when you first walk in. Jams, fudge, candy, kitchen decor, soaps, small toys and all kinds of decorations, not always related to Yankee or candles. They are heavy on the fall/halloween stuff during this time of year, but they do offer a Christmas room year round. This is the ideal place to pick up a souvenir if you're from out of town. There are of course TONS of candles - pretty much every scent, every type currently sold by Yankee is available here along with some fragrances exclusive to this location. When we went, the only special going on was buy 1 get 1 at 50% off. This is quite expensive as the regular large jars are about $30 each. I am Canadian so converting this in my currency is just outlandish. There is a small Sales room with some discounted goods however nothing seemed to be under 50%. This was very disappointing, as in the past, I've often shopped during semi-annual sales and was able to find large candles close to $10 a pop, and they usually have things discounted up to $75, either smaller candles, or accessories. If you are looking for a deal, you won't really find any here. Your local store would actually be better. I understand this is a large tourist attraction so the prices are high. Even if you aren't buying anything though, the shop is very nice to browse through. The christmas village as others pointed has lots of trees, ornaments, little train, villages and even fake snow coming from a star lit ceiling. There is a "food court" type area with a Ben & Jerry's and other small food stand, lots of places to sit throughout and many bathrooms as well. There is a toy store, lots of plushies, games and things for children. If you are looking to make your own candle, a wax hand or get a customized candle label with a photo, these are all available here. Make sure to check the times as when we went at opening everything seemed closed, or there was a lack of staff. I think if you come as a group and really take the time to browse through, sniff all the candles and try some of the experiences you can spend upwards of an hour or two for sure, however my boyfriend and I just had a quick walk through and this took about half an hour. I think if you were hoping to score some deals and leave with tons of candles at a fraction of the cost, this won't be the place but if you want to enjoy the selection, atmosphere both inside and out, the Yankee village is a nice attraction.

A little chaotic, but a lot of fun. I have been wanting to visit here for quite a while. Perhaps days leading up to Christmas was not the best timing on my part but it was still fun. There's so much to do and see and plenty of hands-on opportunities. My 5 and 3 year old had a lot of fun making their own candle and filling a bag of candy. Powder Hollow brewery right next door was a bonus. Would I go back? Maybe. But worth the visit!

Yankee Candle Village is a large retail store that opened in South Deerfield, Massachusetts in April 1986. It is the flagship store of the Yankee Candle Company, which was founded by Michael Kittredge in 1969. Kittredge made his first scented candle as a Christmas gift for his mother by using melted crayons. The first Yankee Candle Shop opened in South Hadley in 1975. The company slowly expanded and established their headquarters in South Deerfield in 1983. Since 2015, the company has been owned by Newell Brands. As of 2024, there are over 300 Yankee Candle retail stores nationwide. The South Deerfield flagship store features much more than just candles. It also features home décor accessories, kitchen accessories, crafts, gifts & collectibles, toys, a food court & candy shop, a general store, a candle-making museum & waxworks, and rooms dedicated to Christmas. A second flagship store opened in Williamsburg (VA) in 2005, but it closed down in 2021. My family and I visited Yankee Candle Village this past weekend. I've visited there several times since I was a young boy and now I'm happy to take my own children. Of course you can pick out scented candles from the flagship store's enormous selection, but the main reason most people go is because it's always Christmas there. Since our visit was actually near Christmas, there was no shortage of decorations both inside and outside. The first Christmas-themed room is the "Black Forest". It snows every 4 minutes, and my sons loved seeing the animatronic reindeer. Next is the "Bavarian Christmas Village". Designed to resemble an authentic German village during Christmastime, highlights include a large decorated tree and a glockenspiel clock tower with bell ringer figures that emerge at the top of each hour. We next walked into the "Nutcracker Castle", where you can find every nutcracker imaginable from around the world. Finally we entered "Santa's Workshop" where we saw plenty of toys as well as a trio of animatronic elves singing Christmas songs. Children can also have photos with Santa Claus himself; just be sure to make reservations well in advance. There's so much to see and do at Yankee Candle Village and we hope to keep visiting for years to come!

This place became a family tradition. We visit this place every year during the holidays. We love the decorations, the scent and spirit of Christmas. No matter where you turn there is always someone willing to help and answer questions. The variety of item is impressive from home decor to candy heaven . Some items might be a little overpriced but we still go home with something for the house. Overall is a very expected occasion visiting Yankee Candle Village every year.

"Light a candle for where were going There's something ahead, worth looking for" (Neil Young) If you think Yankee Candles just sells candles, you couldn't be more wrong about anything. I really enjoyed browsing around this massive store, visiting all of the departments and sections represented. We spent $42 there and not one penny was on candles. Toys, games, ice cream, home goods, housewares, candy, and pretty much everything else are sold along with the candles. They have a Build-A-Bear station in the toy department and of course they have candle making activities for children and adults. You'll also see a corny animatronic singing group (shades of Chucky Cheese) and a toy room with a snowfall very 8 minutes. We bought two craft projects for the grandkids, pumpkin themed salt and pepper shakers for Thanksgiving (just $3 in a markdown section), a cinnamom swirl bread mix, and soup and chili mixes. Yankee Candle reminded me of the touristy stores you see in Myrtle Beach or in the Pennsylvania Dutch towns. I loved every minute of my visit,

Saw the sign off the highway and said ok let's stop by......OMGGGG best decision that I have made in a long time. Ok so this place is so amazing you need to cut out a chunk of time to see everything. This isn't "let me run in to find my favorite candle" it's more like visual stimuli overdrive where do I start kind of experience. The village is endless with rooms and rooms everywhere. Christmas ornaments, candles, candy store, ice cream, food court, build a bear?! They have tables for family members to sit and relax while the family shoppers go nuts. I can't even begin to express my excitement. They have make your own candle scents to as well as you picking a candle and wax dipping. Sale was buy 2 large get 2 free so it was basically $15 for a large candle with that sale. Then we went to a station and for $5 we uploaded a picture of our family member on our phone and they put the label on the candle you can even put text on it!!!!! I know where I am doing all my Christmas shopping. You can even buy a beautiful ornament and they personalize for free. The outside is so beautiful and there also are tables there to sit and relax. This is a must see. Looks like UMass Amherst is near by.

Absolutely Love this place! I'm a window shopper and a Halloween freak! Food/Drink: Full menu eatery, snack shop, candy, cakes, pretzels, coffee, tea, and the like. Dinning Area: Three I believe. Prices: Relatively expensive, some on the high side some on the low. Different sections within the store. Halloween, Christmas, St. Patrick's, Harry Potter, Vikings, waterfalls, and a whole bunch more. Parking: Plenty of space, side and back private lots. Bathrooms: Bathrooms were clean and large size. Stock: Plenty of items, all stocked well. Clearly priced, and placed in correct areas. Atmosphere: Pretty fun, and a nice place to kill some time, walk around, stretch your legs. Or you can go and shop for those memories your looking for. Staff/Attendants: Staff was Great, workers at the front cashier were nice, and respectful. Quick process in and out. Awesome experience, I bring my wife and kids here every time I'm in mass. 10/10

I finally made it to this store! This place is HUGE. There is a wide variety of items: Christmas selection, food, outdoor items, kitchen items, just everything. They had snow coming down, a large animatronic reindeer, photo ops, even an animatronic band. Funny enough out of everything the store... I got some Maple items, no candles. They had a big selection of Maple products so I scored some Maple Popcorn, Maple Drops and a really big Maple Peanut Butter Cup! The only downside for me is I was hoping this place had some discontinued candles, or hard to find ones. They just all of the common scents you'd find at the local Yankee shop at the most major malls... and they were the same types of candles over and over again in each room which was a bit disappointing. Regardless, I could spent HOURS there. I loved it and would gladly go back!

The artificial scents were overpowering. It was definitely a must stop to see the largesse, but we didn't purchase anything.

I love Yankee Candle. I've been coming here since I was young, and so much has remained the same it's comforting. The winter Bavarian village and the castle? It's lovely to shop under the stars. The miniature villages are magical (but sadly very expensive to recreate). And of course, there is almost every candle you could ever want to sniff (some varying by season). You can even make your own! Such a fun place to visit, but remember to bring your coupons!

Ask the Community - Yankee Candle

How have the crowds been during COVID? Is there a better day of the week and time to go when it's not super crowded?

You can go any day. They are excellent in managing foot traffic.

We will be in your area in the next two weeks. Are pets allowed in the village?

I have never seen an animal inside. I'm sure service dogs would be allowed because of the ADA, but it's not the kind of place that is otherwise appropriate for animals.
