This is a fantastic chinese style bakery hidden down in West Jordan. Tucked away in the corner, they have a ton of offerings with various baked goods, and square bread. I was surprised to see how good the variety was, but what really surprised me was the snow skin mochi with a bunch of different flavorings. I know that I'll definitelty be back to try those. The employees were super nice and helped me quickly. The store interior was clean and had a lot of great design elements. Next time I come in, I'll have to take more pictures of the interior, and close ups of the baked goods. Either way, it's something that you should check out! I would definitely rank this one up there with some of the bigger chains in town.

Uh, say Uh, uh, say their name Say, Yao wow wow Uh, uh, Yao wow (Yeah) Uh, uh, Yao wow (Yao wow) Yeah, uh, their name is Tummy chubby but I'm bubbly, pocket full of dough From the W-J, representing WeJo Them foodies recognize and these yelpers do too They slingin' the freshest bread, aroma makin' you drool So better make room for desserts after dinner 'Cause Yao will wow you over here! ya heard? They have this, they have that, they have all of the above Pork floss, taro buns, egg custard tarts, and everything that you love I've seen them make that mango durian slush, seriously the best They've got their sugar ratio down from 100 to 25 percent Look at my pics, ya know they ain't playin' That why all through the reviews All you hear them Yelpers sayin' is Yao wow wow, yippie yo, yippee yay Where my boba lovers at? Sip with me now Yao wow wow, yippie yo, yippee yay And all my yelpers around the valley that love How's it's going down, say Yao wow wow, yippie yo, yippee yay Where my durian lovers at? Smell with me now Yao wow wow, yippie yo, yippee yayyyy Ain't a true Sailorfoodie review without a song parody. But seriously, Yao Bakery and Boba thank you so much for existing on the west side of the valley. Truly a gift from Heaven with your excellent boba options and baked goods! My current obsession includes mango pomelo slush 1/2 sugar, mango durian slush 1/2 sugar, taro coconut jelly, and mango sago coconut jelly. I also recently ordered the mango durian cake and taro coconut cream cake. Both were excellent and received the best compliments from my mom and sister: "it's good, not too sweet." -Sailor out

Mango pomelo sago - be sure to stir!

I've been here twice now and gotten the mango pomelo sago both times, and I can honestly say it's likely the best in all of Utah. Given, I haven't had very many mango pomelo sagos here, but I've had elsewhere and Yao's is the perfect amount of icy, creamy, with just the right of mango flavor. Mango bits tastes fresh not frozen, pomelo is perfect, and the sago is *chef's kiss*. 10/10! My boyfriend got the brown sugar boba milk and really liked it as well. I kept stealing some of his, and ended up eating all the leftover boba he didn't finish . The boba is perfectly sweet and chewy, and I'd be tempted to order that myself if the mango pomelo sago didn't have such a grasp on my soul haha. Honestly it's probably a good thing I don't live closer, because I'm sure I would spend all my money here and end up gaining 10 pounds. If you can control yourself, definitely come and try it! Ambiance is cute, both times I went it was pretty quiet, only a few customers in store, mostly in and out. The mango pomelo sago is definitely their most popular item; pretty sure everyone who came in after us ordered it as well. I also tried a red bean pastry; it was mostly bread and very little red bean. Probably wouldn't order again, but I'll definitely drive out of my way for those drinks!!!

I'll start off by saying that this place is absolutely adorable. Very brightly lit with lots of clean gold and white shelving, plenty of booths and room to navigate the shop, and pleasant calm music playing... this is a great local spot to visit with friends without feeling overwhelmed by stimulus or different sensory problems. And with my family and I being the only token white people in the shop at the time, I took that as a great sign that their offerings were legitimate and trusted. Their baked goods are freshly made, large in size and diverse in recipes. They offer more unique and frankly refreshing flavors for their teas and boba beverages! We tried their strawberry peach green tea as well as the peach oolong milk tea and they were fantastic. The woman who helped us was so kind and friendly and she was up front about their pricing for items that didn't have their prices visible, which I appreciated. If you're looking for a local Hong Kong specific business to spend your money at instead of a large dime-a-dozen corporation, this is a great choice!

Mango Pomelo coconut jelly

Such a great Asian bakery! The owner is from GZ China and makes amazing desserts/drinks/pastry that fits the taste of a southern Chinese like myself. I had missed that living in Utah and it's great to be able to come here and remind me of home a little bit. The best has to be the mango pomelo drink and mango coconut jelly. Big big fan of their cake as well. Everything is made with genuine high quality ingredients. They do not cut corners and you can taste the difference!

So glad I found this place! I usually like to go to 85C for my asian pastries, but this is a lot closer to me. I was so surprised they had green thai tea!!! It's one of my favorite drinks and a lot of places either don't have it or butcher the drink. Although it didn't quite taste like how I expected it to taste, the drink itself still tasted like a green thai tea and was pretty good, just a bit on the sweeter side though. The pastries all looked so good and I was tempted to buy them all but just chose to get a chocolate pastry. It was light and not overly sweet! This was the perfect study snack! I did come pretty late in the evening so a lot of the pastries were already gone or sold out. Definitely plan to try their other drinks and pastries!

Coconut bread

Cute little bakery with a lot of yummy options! The coconut bread was a bit dry but had great coconut flavor. The coconut drink with mango mochi is my favorite! It's so refreshing! Service is always good and there is plenty of seating inside, along with parking.

Peach oolong milk tea w/ boba

This place is a cute family owned bakery! My family and I were craving some light desserts after dinner and wouldn't make it in time if we were to drive towards some of the common places we'd go. The owner makes everything fresh daily and does preorder cakes. They opened about 8 months ago! We got the mango sago, peach oolong milk tea, & taro swirl cake and pineapple cake. They ALL hit the spot! We were so happy with everything we purchased.

Taro Coconut Jelly
Sandy T.

Went again yesterday and tried more flavors of the coconut jelly - taro and classic. Both were phenomenal as well! The taro flavor has a thicker consistency and texture than the other ones. In addition to the coconut jelly, we had the egg tart. Super yummy - flaky and crispy on the outside while having a soft custard on the inside. This place will definitely be our go to dessert place whenever we're in the area :) Such a cute little shop for quick service desserts!

Great find! Ambiance: Clean and sophisticated with plenty of tables. The pastries are set out on display and they all looked so good! Service: Quick and fast. You pick what you want, get it wrapped at the counter, and they deliver your drink to you. Food: We got the pineapple bun which was nice, flaky and light. The egg tarts were also delicious with the right texture and crust. The Hong Kong milk tea was a strong tea flavor. Overall, what a great find for some classic good Asian pastries without the crowds. Would definitely come back to try out their other stuff!

This place is so cute. I wish I saw the crepe cakes before I paid for my order because they look absolutely delicious. I will definitely be coming back to try some other flavors of boba tea because their menu was huge and had some very unique options, and their pastry and desserts look amazing. The chocolate croissant was huge and perfect for me and my son to split.

Yao Bakery is an amazing, cute little spot with a very cozy vibe and ambiance. Me and my best friend walked over here (she lives nearby) and we got the new mango thing.. i forgot the name but i think it was like mango sago pamalo?? something like that. The drinks are amazing and im dying to try their crossaints since they look sooo good! I recommend their Yakults. It's a super yummy and cute place, my only complaint is that they're pretty pricey and usually take a bit for the food (10-20 minutes for a single drink..) the staff are very polite. I didn't know how to pronounce our mango drink and the guy taking my order helped us and it was very nice. Overall? Great! A good boba stop, I definitely will be coming back for those crossaints and a yakult :)
