They will offer to hear up your pastry for you, say yes every time. Eva's Bakery is just très charmante. I did get a sticker to take home (ask if you want one!) and apparently they are sister restaurants with "Eva" that is pretty close by. One of the baristas that works here in the morning also works at the Eva's bar at night. Apparently, I was told Eva's Bakery and Eva's is kind of a hidden secret even from the locals. Either you know it or you don't. I love that this spot is in downtown SLC so that I could visit while I was here. It's definitely a place to come back to as much as you can. They're essentially little hand pies, like the size of a pop tart. So getting three seems good for two people if you like pie a lot, like we do. We also added two cups of ice cream to go. The girl helping us was nice and engaged conversation when we asked about the thrift shop. Solid service. Once we go home, we heated up the strawberry rhubarb and apple cobbler for one minute. That wasn't long enough so I'd do 1:35 next time. That would ensure the ice cream would melt a bit more. We started with the key lime pie; oh my ... it was epically delicious. This was as good as key lime pie we had in Captiva and The Keys in Florida. Then we dove into the other two. The strawberry rhubarb was 75% crust and 25% filling. I'd love to see more filling there. Compared to a grandma's strawberry rhubarb; it wasn't on par. It was a 3.75/5. Next up was the apple cobbler. A classic. It was pretty much what we expected and so was more on the 2/5 scale. We started so strong with the key lime pie that the bar was set high. Overall a good experience and the night ended on 3 empty cardboard containers filled with crust, melted vanilla ice cream and happy tears of our daughter's new journey.
