My experience with HiiT fitness has costed me $200…read more I'm saddened to share my unfortunate experience with HiiT Fitness... I began my journey with HiiT in October. After extensive conversations with the owner, Nate, I signed a Non renewing contract for one month. Nate and I discussed membership options for about an hour. I felt confident in purchasing a membership, as I had the choice to renew it every month. I decided my goals did not align with HiiT fitness, so I chose not to renew. That was in October. Friday, December 1st I was charged $200. I was immediately shocked by my transaction considering the conversations I've had with Nate. I immediately reached out to Nate, to no response. After the weekend was over I stopped into the Lansing mall location. Nate did not even come out of his office to speak to me. He had his trainer Justin, present me with the contract I signed. Justin said there were building discrepancies in November and that is why I was charged in December for both months. This is not true as a friend of mine was charged for November in November. I was not able to get a refund from Hiit, and Nate has still not contacted me. I have heard from other members of this gym that billing issues are prevalent. I am an 18 year old student, and it is quite unfortunate that $200 was stolen from me, days away from my birthday. I do not recommend this gym for anyone looking for good work out classes. Beyond $200 being ripped away from me, trainers are rarely at classes. When they choose not to come, they do not send notice. This is an establishment I would run from and I am hearing the same from others. I wish Nate and I could have had a resolution for this situation. Truly unprofessional.

I actually love that it's semi personal because watching the more experienced people is super helpful. I have faithfully come and have been able to remove my knee braces that I have worn for years because my surrounding muscles have been strengthened. I truly cannot say enough about how life changing this can be, strengthening your body and your mind in this caring and supportive community!

Laurie: The Friendly Facilitator From the moment I came into the building for the first time, Laurie was very helpful and continues to be as she provides monthly receipts for my Health Savings Account. Her proactive assistance ensures that administrative tasks are smooth and efficient, allowing me to focus on my fitness journey without any added stress. She's a good instructor as well! The one that keeps me coming back is Jessica Stemen; she is the magnet. Jessica is keenly aware of my limitations and adapts the exercises to accommodate me, and others in the class as well. The appropriately sized classes make it possible for instructors like her to provide personalized attention. Because of her partnership in fitness, I have experienced positive measurable outcomes in my health. I am so grateful for her dedication and expertise. Of course, I have taken classes from Steve Flintoff and Amy Feldpausch. They both have great attitudes and provide excellent instruction. Their enthusiasm and professionalism truly represent SOF well, and I always look forward to participating in their sessions. In fact, your staff are your secret sauce! The collective efforts of the entire team create an environment that fosters growth, well-being, and a sense of community. Each member brings their unique strengths to the table, contributing to the overall success and reputation of SOF. In recognizing these exceptional individuals, I hope to highlight the extraordinary impact they have on the lives of those they serve. Their commitment to excellence and genuine care for their clients' well-being make SOF a remarkable place for fitness and health. Thank you for all that you do. Sincerely, Kelly Arndt

I've been at MMCF for over a year now, which is incredible when you consider that I've never been…read moreable to maintain a period of continuous exercise for more than a few months. If you're nervous about starting crossfit, this is a great gym to start off in. A majority of the coaches are women, classes are diverse across age, gender, and race, and they are queer friendly, all of which are very important to me! Every month they have a 101 class that's meant to be an on-ramp course to ease you into "normal" crossfit workouts. They often run deals on these classes that bring the price to around $50 for two weeks of 6 classes, with a deal of ~$50 for unlimited classes in the first month after 101. Membership prices vary depending on how often you want to come in during a week: 2x, 3x, or unlimited. The schedule offers a lot of flexibility--there are a few early morning workouts during the week, noon workouts on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays, and 5 pm workouts (and later) every weekday (5:30 on Fridays). The noon and 5 pm workouts mean that it's very easy to pop into the gym if you work in downtown Lansing and live elsewhere, as I do. On Saturdays they have morning workouts (usually partner workouts which are beginner-friendly) and Sundays they have open gym from 2-4 pm.

This is the first CrossFit gym (box) that I have been to. I have gone to other boxes and I really…read morelike the style at Mid Mitten CrossFit. They focus on form and everyone is required to go through the basic 101 class to learn the movements. The community is very welcoming and very encouraging no matter what your athletic abilities are or where your skill level is on movements.
