The aids are really bad at solving problems and the bathrooms are never clean. Also they serve a very little amount of food for lunc.

Her response is forever imprinted in my memory. She told me I was overreacting. What kind of adult has that type of reaction to a CHILD telling them that they were getting mistreated. On top of that, they are quick to point fingers, accuse students for being "bad", and not look into the students' situation at home. I was going through the roughest period of my life and they made it a thousand times worse. I hope no child has to go through that. Miramontes, Villa, Canales, and Schreiber. I hope you guys do the world a favor and retire.

This school can get pretty scary and unsafe. Dropping off in the morning is a nightmare. Leave early and be prepared to wait. Major traffic and unsafe driving. Daily fights occur between both boys and girls. Smoking, vaping, alcohol and drugs are a common place at Alvarado Intermediate School. Not much justice for the victims. No substantial consequences for the criminals. Bullying is a part of the culture. Rarely do the offenders receive more than a, "talking to" for their offences. Pay the money and go to a private school or opt to Ybarra or Oswalt. You won't regret it.

Unfortunately, our overall impression of the school and several other staff members was disappointing. One experience that really stood out involved a teacher named Esther, who teaches the 4-5-year-old class. While she may appear friendly at first, our experience with her was very different. One morning, my wife was holding the security gate open for an elderly grandfather who was walking into the preschool. Instead of appreciating the situation, Esther immediately yelled at my wife to close the gate and began lecturing her. Even after my wife explained that she was simply helping an elderly person enter safely, Esther continued to scold her and insisted that the grandfather could open the gate himself. We found her response unnecessarily harsh and lacking basic compassion and professionalism. Another concern was the school's annual Jogathon fundraiser. Families are encouraged to donate money, and children who participate receive a special T-shirt. Staff members then visit the classrooms to celebrate with those children by handing out small toys and snacks. We chose not to participate because we already pay significant tuition and did not feel obligated to make an additional donation. Later, the school sent parents a video of the celebration. Watching it was heartbreaking. My daughter was one of the children without the fundraiser shirt, and she was left standing in the back while the other children celebrated together. She was essentially separated from the group because we didn't donate. Regardless of the purpose of the fundraiser, I don't believe young children should ever be singled out or excluded based on whether their parents contribute financially. The children have no control over those decisions, and schools should make every effort to ensure all students feel included. I'm glad we ultimately decided to move our daughter to another school. While we appreciated her classroom teacher, our overall experience left us disappointed, and I would not recommend this preschool based on what our family experienced.

Great school. Amazing staff. They have afterschool tutoring. And the kids are good.read more

Class of 2025 student here (Junior as of writing this review)…read more Academics are rigorous but fair. The teacher quality is varied, but most teachers (I took mostly AP and Honors) are fair and motivated. Student organizations (clubs, teams, ASB) vary, some being well organized, and some being poorly organized (it's just what happens when you put students in charge of something). School events are nice too, HOCO and Prom are overly expensive though (Rowland has their homecoming for ONLY $20, ours was ~$80) The staff are helpful, I went to the office 15+ times in Sophomore year because my mom sent me to school with the flu, and the cold. The office administration were understanding and dealt with all situations well. Counselors are helpful. Fights rarely break out. School is a mix between two majority races - Hispanic and Asian. Security does their job well, and the school has procedures in case of emergency. In the 2022-23 school year, a false shooter call forced the school to lockdown procedures. This situation was rapidly taken care of. Not gonna lie, our sports teams aren't the best (except Badminton, they're really good). The STEM pathways in the school are great. School lunch improved drastically in the last few years (it's also free). Would give a 5 star but our campus isn't in optimal shape. Restrooms smell terrible. The bottom floor boys restroom had its stall door stolen as a result of the "devious lick" trend in 2021. The boys restroom up stairs always smells like weed and raspberries (vapes).
