The old location was a little small and tucked away in a relatively crowded strip mall on the bustling intersection of Hall Rd and Hayes. The drive there was frustrating enough to limit my appearances there. They have since moved to a new location...terrifyingly close by. Now it's super convenient to visit the new store. The strip mall they moved to is much less busy and the location is way easier to spot from Van Dyke. The interior of the store is jam packed with lots of collectibles. They have a variety of wrestling, GI Joe, Star Wars and Funko Pops to name a few things. There's so much more there too (like superhero themed comic books). With as much stuff as Funky Town Toys has, the inside of the store is quite clean and spacious. It's always a pleasure to walk around and look at all of the potential money I can spend on stuff! If you're into old and new action figures and collectibles, you should take a stroll into Funky Town Toys. The store is small, but it is PACKED with games, cards and some old toys from the 80's on. It becomes a journey looking through the treasure trove of old and new items. For the newer items they are sold at or near major retail price. I have been in other smaller stores and they have to increase the prices heavily to make up for the obscene property taxes. I was happy to see the older things weren't ridiculously priced either. I left with two boxes of Pokemon cards, a set of original Spider-Man movie cards, a board game, a dragon pin, and a random Dungeons and Dragons themed bag that when I opened it, it contained a yellow and red bag, rainbow dice and a coin for Inspiration. We had a birthday party here for my son and his friend. The kids had a blast! You walk in and there…read moreis a table full of lego pieces for the kids to come in and start building. For the birthday party package you pick two projects for the kids to do during the party. Our kids picked the hex bug maze and the robot alligator. The kids had a blast being creative and seeing the awesome results. They ended with a robot battle. The staff was so good with the kids (mix of 6&7 year olds). All the parents have to do is bring the food/cake and party favors and the staff will take care of the rest. They served the food and cupcakes to the kids. They gave each birthday boy a special Robot Garage Lego mini fig. They helped pack up the food and presents and transport them to our cars after. It was a really great experience. We hope to go back to the Robot Garage again in the near future.

During Covid I began painting miniatures and building models again. So when I came to town this time I made a point of visiting MTSF. I was not disappointed. This is no doubt one of the best hobby shops I've ever visited. A vast selection of paints, diorama materials, tools and kits. I was impressed by the displays. Worth a visit just to take a look. I will be back again once I decide what I want to build next.
