I recently learned about Cezanne, a formaldehyde free alternative to Brazilian blowouts, and went on a search to find a stylist who was experienced in using it. Yelena was the most reasonably priced so I went to her for a consult. I was pleased to discover that she is quite experienced in working with Cezanne, and was able to give me a great deal of insights so that I can better plan how to manage my hair with this treatment. For anyone interested in this treatment, I do recommend reading the FAQ's on the products website - I was surprised to learn that the product may change the color of your hair, and may leave an unpleasant scent on hair as well. Luckily my hair color was unchanged and I do not really smell the product - my hair is dark brown and very fine. I al pleased with the treatment. Yelena is a jem. She is a sweet and is excellent at hair color. I originally found her from groupon and appreciated her location. I didn't know that I had found my hair stylist for years to come. She is very talented and has a nice eye for color. She has a lot of experience (used to be at Ulta) and keeps up with current trends. She takes as much time with you as needed. Yelena uses Wella products and is concerned about not only how products are for your color and style, but also because she doesn't want to expose her clients to harsh chemicals. The salon she uses is nice and there is plenty of parking. It's under the Tryst label. There is usually serve yourself coffee, tea, or water. Her prices are very fair for the quality work. She never pushes you to buy product or some product you don't need. She makes great recommendations and will do research to find the best solution for your needs. She included a blowout and style with my service. I have loved my color every time and feel confident in her. There have been times where I've just wanted to chat and others where I wanted to read my book, she is adaptable to your mood and chat level. I think that if you didn't like something, she would happily fix it... But I've never run into that situation. Bonus- she speaks Russian and English. I have been going to Yelena for a very long time and for good reason. First and foremost, she does a great job on my hair, especially my color, she is very professional, passionate about her work, makes sure you are happy before you leave, and she is very accommodating. I am not comfortable during COVID to go into a salon, so I see her outside of the salon right now. For my sons wedding ( out of town) Yelena did my hair color before I left,,,and while I loved it after the first time, she had me come back a second time as she wanted it to look perfect!... and it did. She also had contacts in L.A., where I was going, and referred me to a great stylist for the wedding. I got a Groupon for Yelena and I must say, her coloring job was pretty good. I didn't hate it and it was pretty close to what I asked for. However, she was 15 minutes late to our first appointment. OK, I get it. A lot of places run late. I didn't like that the woman working at the salon said that it's normal for Yelena to be late and that that's good for her. She didn't apologize or offer me a drink or anything. Just rude and poor business in my opinion. Once we got going she seemed rushed and was a little rough on my head. Not enough that would make me say anything but I definitely noticed. When I got the chance to style my hair at home the next day I saw that the highlight framing my face was blotchy and she missed pieces so I asked her to fix it. That was no problem. However, on our 2nd appointment she was 30 MINUTES LATE. To me that is unacceptable and unprofessional. Again she was rushing through the process. I had communicated to her what I wanted but she was so rushed that she couldn't hear me correctly and so she was frustrated when I told her again because she wasn't seeming to understand what I wanted. Finally we got on the same page and then she hit my head twice on the dryer than comes down from the ceiling. I mean it literally hit me in the face. Then when she was shampooing my hair, she was constantly getting water all over my face and pulling my hair to show me she needed me to sit back again. That's not OK. And of course her next client came in then making her even more rushed and now pushing back the next client inconveniencing her as well. I told her that I had to be at work by a certain time and because she was late I barely made it to work on time. When you book appointments you shouldn't book them right on top of each other so it causes your clients to be late. There needs to be more consideration there on her part. Her color job I do think looks nice but I believe that your overall experience and the rapport you build is a huge part of customer service and to me that was greatly lacking.
