I've been coloring my hair various shades of the rainbow for 20 years now, and Jenny is the first colorist that has actually listened to me, and asked all the right questions to really understand what I was looking for. She's talented, kind, and a really good colorist. I'm super glad I found this place because I've been striking out with multiple salons over the years all over Chicago (since I originally would get my hair colored in New York). Yelena was the most reasonably priced so I went to her for a consult. I was pleased to discover that she is quite experienced in working with Cezanne, and was able to give me a great deal of insights so that I can better plan how to manage my hair with this treatment. For anyone interested in this treatment, I do recommend reading the FAQ's on the products website - I was surprised to learn that the product may change the color of your hair, and may leave an unpleasant scent on hair as well. Luckily my hair color was unchanged and I do not really smell the product - my hair is dark brown and very fine. I al pleased with the treatment. As for my review for Yelena - I am very glad to have stumbled upon her for my first Cezanne treatment; she was masterful with the product, gave me great insights and recommendations, and a great cut. I didn't know that I had found my hair stylist for years to come. She is very talented and has a nice eye for color. She has a lot of experience (used to be at Ulta) and keeps up with current trends. She takes as much time with you as needed. Yelena uses Wella products and is concerned about not only how products are for your color and style, but also because she doesn't want to expose her clients to harsh chemicals. The salon she uses is nice and there is plenty of parking. It's under the Tryst label. There is usually serve yourself coffee, tea, or water. Her prices are very fair for the quality work. She never pushes you to buy product or some product you don't need. She makes great recommendations and will do research to find the best solution for your needs. She included a blowout and style with my service. I have loved my color every time and feel confident in her. There have been times where I've just wanted to chat and others where I wanted to read my book, she is adaptable to your mood and chat level. I think that if you didn't like something, she would happily fix it... But I've never run into that situation. Bonus- she speaks Russian and English. She has experience with undos, keritan treatment, and weddings.

Curls, curls & more curls! Everyone in the family seems to have them. I choose to straighten my own…read morecurly locks, but love my daughter's crazy curls except when it's impossible to get a brush thru them. That is after the shower because the first rule of curly hair is to never brush it when dry or frizz-o-mania. I can barely tame her curls, which means her trying to do her own hair is nearly impossible. I did a lot of research on treatments that would tame the frizz to help her manage her own curls. Magic Sleek seemed to be the best option to defrizz curls, which keeping the curl pattern and also very few chemicals. A few friends had recommended Chantal so we gave it a try and liked the results. In fact, I liked the results so much that I even switched from a keratin treatment (lasio) to magic sleek for myself. I can't really tell the difference between the 2, but both work great and I like that magic sleek doesn't have a lot of chemicals. When the owner of Chantal's previous salon recently close their doors she opened Tria right around the corner with a few other stylists. I had the pleasure of working there (working anywhere seems to be the pandemic way) while my daughter sat for 2.5 hours getting a magic sleek last week. It's a comfortable salon, everyone is very friendly and they follow covid protocols. Chantal herself is lovely and a fabulous stylist. She was incredibly patient with my 10 year old and the 2nd magic sleek was even better than the first since we left it on a bit longer. She also gave us some great styling tips to help us manage her hair post magic sleek. i'm also always impressed with her memory when it comes to both my hair and my daughter's, but then again our crazy hair is probably pretty memorable. Booking an appointment is as easy as texting the salon and you can pay via Venmo. Our first experience here was 5 stars and look forward to many more visits for the Magic Sleek and other hair services.
