I want to add the caveat that this happened during Thanksgiving weekend, so a grain of salt is due. I booked a cab the night before so I could be sure a swift, easy to trip to the airport. I was concerned that, given the early hour and holiday weekend, a ride share wouldn't be as reliable as a licensed cab. The 6 AM cab was booked, I received a confirmation number, and I went to bed. The next morning, however, things took a turn. At 6 AM, with no cab in sight, I called the support number. The automated voice read my address (somewhat incorrectly) and then hung up after asking if I wanted to talk to an operator. I called backed, only to have the same thing happen. Then window from "press 0 to speak with a human" to hanging up was about 1.3 seconds. On round three, I got through to a young man who sounded a little harried. I asked about an eta for my cab and he said he didn't know. A driver would "pick up the ride" in any minute, since they were all just starting their day. I asked what he meant by "just starting their day," since I had booked and confirmed a pickup for 6AM. If the drivers only started at 6 and needed to be dispatched first, why was that even an option? I would have pressed further, but at this point the operator decided to hang up. It's now 6:10, and my flight is still leaving at the same time, so I'm getting a little worried. Then I get a new text. My driver has accepted my order and will be there...in 13-15 more minutes. I called the operator again to ask what was happening, but the automated voice seemed to be on the fritz as well (based on the other employees, she was probably just starting her shift). I opted to cancel the service and go with someone a bit more reliable. read more

My fiancé and I called a cab last night to take us ~4 miles home. We decided to use a taxi company since our phones were dying and we thought the Uber and Lyft apps would have killed them completely before we got picked up. Our confirmation said it would be 22 minutes before we were picked up, and we were quoted $10-12 for our fare. After waiting an hour, I called dispatch and was told the driver was dropping someone off and would be at our location in under 10 minutes. We waited and waited. Another 30 minutes went by, so I called dispatch again, and was told that no drivers were anywhere near our area and we couldn't get a ride. Our phones died shortly after. We ended up walking a mile and then having to hitchhike home because the people who offered to take us home were less scary than the dark roads we had to walk down. The good: Dispatch gave me a cab to my beginning location in the stated time... Cab is clean and neutral of smell from my perspective. Door opens and closes without a hitch. The bad. The cab driver's tools. I got a taxi driver who is supposed to be a cognitive human being, but instead insisted on very serialized and robotic instructions to be relayed to a very miniscule and ill-perspective GPS Garmin. What is at fault then, is that I wanted the cab to think which is the quickest way to a major interstate. In doing so, he missed a turn because he was indeed narrowed in driving by GPS due to the way a particular interchange worked. Specifically, the Green Oaks SE and Lancaster interchange of the Fort Worth-ish area. Another fault, is that his GPS insisted a miss-direction earlier that does not lead to the then GIVEN numerical address. This also relies on the non-thinking behavior that the driver had. It makes me wonder why industry is now going towards Lyft, Uber, and eventfully autonomous cars.... it is because Yellow Cab has been gradually and as witnessed hiring non-thinking and non-aware drivers tunneled into narrow perspective of GPS driving. If he had zoomed out on the map, he would have been much more aware what I was talking about, and if the map is not on a POV perspective! His driving was calm and not rushed, which in one perspective means the passenger would be impatient, but in another would result in a more "comfortable" and "slow" ride... slow being able to rack up the meter... I should not have to micro-manage his next instruction. It is why you guys pay these cabbies good money, and perhaps give them the needed awareness with these "taxi" licenses. He already has a good POV way of driving - his EYES, LOCAL MIND, and WINDSHIELD. The GPS, he seems intent on only navigating off of that instead... Which resulted in the above "misses" adding to the fare. If this is the behavior of ALL cabbies (*and yes I gave Yellow Taxi a chance amidst the talks about these ride share services) then it is a wonder why Yellow Cab.... is not considerate. The burden: The fare is over $32 for 13 miles. It would stop any casual semi-frequent use of the service. And because of this decreased demand in flow, it is also no surprise that others with drivers that are more perceptive in non-POV tools and driving and adaptive to instruction (i.e, recognizing named cross streets and places) is had over Yellow Cab. This is 2018, the new year. This is a perspective and use of a service that by all stars, has made their bed... can they clean up their sheets and once more provide a considerate place to rest while traveling? read more

TL;DR: It would have been cheaper, Quicker and safer to do Uber and I didn't even pay for the service; my employer did. If you hear Cab number E226 is picking you up, Run! I had finished my 3-week orientation at a location just north of the Fort Worth area. My employer, Schneider Transportation, gave me the number of this company so i can get a taxi ride to the airport to fly back home. First issue to come was that the taxi arrived a full hour after i placed the phone call with Yellow Cab. Not really something that rings any alarm bells, things happen all the time and i was in an area with lots of distribution centers. Once the vehicle arrived and got settled in the condition of the inside made it obvious the driver made no time to clean the inside of the van. No garbage but upholstery and plastic paneling was either stained or had be neglected. Handles were broken, glass needed to be wiped down and miscellaneous items got left in the various cup holders. The we started driving. This driver rolled through every stop sign we hit on the way. Not even a California stop either, as soon as they saw it was clear they gassed it and kept going. Third stop sign that puts us on the service road towards the interchange of 1-35w and 114 the driver rolls through a stop sign and almost drives into the side of a large truck because they didn't give the truck enough space to finish their left turn. Right on reds...same deal, berely below 10 mph before they take off through the turn. The real bit that started making me feel unsafe was how they were either scratching themself or fidgeting with the sun visor the whole ride. The whole ride without both hands on the steering wheel and driving like they'd rather be doing anything else. The service tablet that was tracking the ride charge by the time we got there totaled to about ~50$, and the driver gave a "wow" when i refused to tip them. The whole ordeal took almost 1 1/2hrs when uber would have had a car pick me up in 12mins. This ride costed almost 7-8 dollars more then what Uber estimated. And i dont know about you but i'd rather take my chances with an uber driver that sinks or swims by their service. read more

Drivers speed, roll through signals and stop-signs, text and talk on the phone, keep the a/c off, don't say a single word and are extremely rude. Not to mention, why do these cabs always smell? If you must, you must but if you can avoid it, please do so. read more

Very poor service meat ruined while waiting for 3hours at grocery store for cab that never came

Never in my life have I seen a cab in shittier condition than this. The whole entire van rattles non stop throughout the ride, the driver should NOT be allowed to have a license as he has no clue how to drive, and he was fully incompetent. I truly have never had an experience like this in any cab or rideshare. DO NOT give these fuckers your money. Additionally, I had to call twice for our second cab to come and he was 30 minutes late. You should not have to remind a taxi driver to keep his eyes on the road multiple times after he veers off time and time again. Not to mention he almost rear ended two people at a stoplight had we not told him to stop. read more

I called for a cab for a 70 year old woman with dementia to go to her new home in a senior community. The sullen driver picked her up and took her to her destination. Then he robbed her demanding all her cash. She was so scare and gave him $25.00 and her credit card. He gave her no receipt! She called Yellow Cab who stone walled her and refused to give his name for the police! She was robbed!! Do not use Yellow Cab! Run! Run fast! Run far away!! read more

Ahh yes, yellow cab. My car broke. We are down to one income. My son and I went to a food bank looking for help with food and possibly bus tickets so I can get to work. The gave us meats and milk and eggs - PARISHABLES. So I told my son let's sacrifice money and pay a cab. I had to go to a CPR training class. So it was on him to bring our food home. He called, dispatcher told him it will be 15 - 20 minutes. And to call back after that time to see you if they could reach the driver. No show yet. Then they said it would be about 3-4 minutes. No site of the cab. To them it's probably no big deal because the fare would only be as they quoted us: $15 - $20. To us this food meant 2 weeks worth of help that we desperately needed. My son decided to bring the groceries home via DART BUS. Mind you it was a lot of heavy bags. Thanks for the fuck over yellow cab. The milk spoiled. Other dairy went warm. That's dangerous. As I said they are not having difficulty in their lives like we are presently experiencing. AGAIN THANK YOU YELLOW CAB For opening our eyes as we will NOT be using you again. I NEVER go back to a place that doesn't give a damn about their customers. There is always an alternate route. I sure hope this review helps others to not be in this predicament. Never settle for crap people! It's your money. Customer service is not what it used to be. So I will hit hit them hard by not going back and putting up reviews which will impact them in a small way. I personally walked a handicapped individual to the waiting cab (driver was on the phone.. not a single move was made by the driver to help get the door open for the gentleman). In fact the door was even locked when we tried to open it. He did not greet him and said nothing. To bad for my friend that has to rely on this guy to get him to his destination. Yellow Cab started out so well but quickly went down hill. The initial "booking" process was smooth and prompt, but the cab driver who was dispatched to our location was a clueless trainee who kept blaming her "broken" GPS instead of her serious inability to read signs and follow directions. After an hour of no one coming for us, I called them back and was told no one wanted to take our ride because we weren't worth the 10.00 fare to come all that way. I called to request a cab to meet me at the corner near my parking garage at work. The dispatcher said, "What's the street address? We have to have an address." I explained that this was a parking garage, and it's not labeled with an address. How many parking garages do you know of with a big street number out front? She said, "Well, call us when you get the address" -- and hung up! Since when is the intersection of two streets not sufficient location information?! Had this woman been reasonable, I could have given her the exact corner of the intersection. I realize that the company's response would probably be something like, "We use state-of-the-art computer dispatching software, and it depends on having a numerical address." But, in my opinion, that is no excuse for inadequate service and rude treatment of potential customers. In the future, I will avoid Yellow Cab at all costs. If I had the means, I would start my own taxi company because they obviously need more competition! read more

I used your cab service to take my clients out for dinner. My credit card was declined. I was very embarrassed . I paid the driver cash. I did not use that card for the rest of the night (Sunday). It has been busy at work. Today, I called the credit card company. My credit is fine. My credit card was charged to using Yellow Cab that night. Now, I must wait weeks to dispute this charge. What crooks Yellow Cab! I paid $18.50 TWICE for ONE trip.The cab driver could "run" my card, but did could NOT provide a receipt for using cash. SCAM. read more

She doesnt deserve 1 star but they have yet to put a negative star on here....This was the absolute worst experience I have ever had with yellow cab....Cab Y543 a asian female picked me up from my job minded you 45 mins after I scheduled a trip first off. Then I get 20 mins away from work and she yells pay me $20 for me to keep going or im dropping you off at a gas station. Im like woman what do you think Im going to jump out a moving vehicle shes like yes. I call the dispatcher and she explains to this BAD cab driver that you cant pick a customer up and then say u have a deposit and if they dont pay you are just gonna drop them off somewhere that is 1 a saefty hazard and against policy if their payment is declined then you have to take them back to where you got them. I had no probkem paying the deposit but that should have been stated before the trip started. Then when she got the deposit she wants to be all nice. But by that point I am enraged and well beyond being nice. I just want to get home Ive worked 11 hours and sat 45 mins waiting on her and then I have to argue with SOMEONE. Im paying to get me where I need to go.... Y543 is the absolute worst and she does not need to be driving a cab or anything else in the customer service field. I called a cab for a hotel guest for a timed pickup and after the dispatcher hung up on me twice I finally got through to be told that they couldn't confirm wether the cab came or not and to call the police if I don't see her. Um...Seriously? I just asked if you dispatched the cab. I want to make sure that my guest arrived to her destination in time because I got hung up on twice while trying to confirm it's departure. I'm just doing my job. The dispatcher was so unpleasant that I hung up so her nasty attitude wouldn't rub off one me. I will NEVER EVER EVER send business to them again. They may be cheaper than the other cab companies, but they are THE ABSOLUTE BOTTOM of the barrel. read more

Most Yellow Cab drivers are awesome. My car broke down and for almost two months I was taking Yellow Cab's and Walking to and from the train station to get to work. After numerous missed cab's (IE I ordered a cab and no one came); and numerous cabs that never showed up (IE They accepted my order, but then decided to do something else.); I had the worst experience ever. First he drove 15 miles an hour and when I told him "Downtown Fort Worth" he proceeded to go down Beltnap instead of the Highway. --(more money this way). After I told him to please turn left to get onto the freeway, he FLIPPED OUT on me. He yelled at me, told me "I should be happy someone came and got me"; tried to tell me he did NOT work for Yellow Cab - when his car was a Yellow Cab; and then told me to get out of the car. All because i told him to turn left. After I told him, no I was not getting out of the car - he took me to work but only after giving me dirty looks and talking about terrorism. Good luck trying to get someone from the main office to care, I called and spoke to supervisor, demanded the driver be reprimanded or my money refunded - both never happened. I told the supervisor to call me with what was found - but I never received a call back. I used to use Yellow Cab - then I found out about UBER! CHEAPER! NICER DRIVERS! SPEAKA ENGLISH FOR YOU! THEY DONT TALK ABOUT TERRORISM! THEY DONT YELL AT A SINGLE WOMAN. Use Uber now - a - days, fuck Yellow Cab. Overpriced, and hey, like the guy said, "I should be happy he came to get me" since, that, was you know, his job and all. If you dont know where you are going - be prepared for them to drive around and just charge up that money. Short distances they "don't like to come and get you" - driver told me that. I also work at a swanky hotel in a popular downtown metroplex - and don't worry. We don't use Shitty ass Yellow Cab. We use a real cab service, with clean cars and drivers that speak english and know where they are going.
