I have a flight traveling out of states for work so I called this Greater Yellow Cab company for a taxi ride early in the morning a little past 4 AM today. After getting past the automation, a female foreigner receptionist answered my call and assured me that my ride would be arriving in 15 to 20 minutes. Upon waiting for more than 30 minutes, I called back inquiring about the status on the driver. I was then informed that the driver had supposedly 'called' me but I did not answer, which was a blatant lie, when I did not receive any calls whatsoever (keep in mind this is at 4 in the morning, volume set to max so cannot miss calls / notifications). Then I was informed that the IVR had automatically cancelled my request without notice and that I would have to wait another 20 plus minutes, on top of the 40 already, for a ride. I asked several times who the individual was assigned to my location, attempting to fix the problem but kept receiving the usual go around, which eventually forwarded me to their 'main office's in where after voicing my frustration promptly hung up on me evidencing their utter lack of professionalism. *DO NOT, DO NOT, DO NOT contact this company for any assistance. read more

Used this company for all my local taxi needs while staying in Anaheim for a week. The cab ride from the hotel to Angels Stadium was $10.10 plus tip (metered rate). The only attempt at a scam was one night leaving Angels Stadium and I jumped into this companies cab on the taxi line outside the stadium. As I had already travelled to and fro from my hotel the night before, I knew the fare would be $10.10. On this ride the operator conveniently forgot to turn on the meter. When we got to my hotel he said "oppsies". I told him the fare was $10.10 plus a tip. He looked chagrined. read more

After having an anxiety attack about flying home only about 15 minutes till boarding our shuttle to the airport, the boy conceded to taking a train home. So we ran inside to ask the guest services where the train station was. It was close but we still needed to take a taxi. We grabbed one of the Yellow Cabs waiting outside our hotel. Initally he had been nice enough to wait for us when there were other people looking for cabs. The ride was quick and fine until we pulled into the lot at the station. I was looking out the window on the other side of the cab when CRASH CRUNCH CRUNCH GRIND!!!!!!! My seatbelt pulled across my face and jammed my jaw fairly hard (it was still sore the next couple of days) . Our driver proceed to drive and the make a U-Turn and park. At first I thought he had hit a car, but when we got out we could see he had slammed into a sign pole and ripped off his front bumper, front light and right side mirror. I don't know if he was in shock or didn't care, cause he didn't even ask us if we were ok. Actually he didn't say anything at all. Not even an apology! A security guard ran over and asked us all if we were ok. He told the driver he needed to go inside and tell the people at the desk about the accident, but I never saw him do so. At this point we just paid him $20, even though in my opinion the ride should've been free because of that. We just grabbed our luggage and left. Now my jaw is still sore and I have a interesting memory, but I don't think I'll trust Anaheim taxi drivers again. read more

Reservation FAIL! I called them on Friday in that I would need to be picked up from the Fullerton Amtrak station on Monday. The gentleman on the phone was pleasant and informed me that my total would be around $11.50 to my destination in Placentia. So, I am sitting on the Amtrak train waiting to depart, and I call to confirm my scheduled pick up. The woman I speak with tells me that they do not schedule reservations to pick up from that station and that I will have to call her when I arrive...and that it will take the driver 20 minutes to get to me. Um...ok. So, thinking I'm a total ninja, I call when I am about 15 minutes to the station. I give my cell phone number to the woman on the phone and ask to be called once the driver arrives. I hang up the phone and get a call right away from the driver saying he is waiting for me. I tell him I am about 10 minutes away. He seemed a little annoyed. I get to the parking area to find about 5 taxis waiting. I jokingly say "Which one of you is here for Allison." Once guy jumps out of the car, without saying a word, grabs my luggage and tosses it in his trunk...Hey, man, my Mac Book is in there! The car was a busted up black lincoln town car with rips in the seat and stuffing coming out. The driving was pleasant after I gave him a 3 dollar tip. YELLOW CAB COMPANY.... YOU FAIL AT CUSTOMER SERVICE! My daughter lost her wallet on Wednesday evening, 4/8 in one of the cabs that they use for ACCESS riders (for disabled people in Orange County who get ride service through County services). We called on Thursday 4/9 and were told the wallet was found, the driver had it and it would be returned to Lost and Found by noon on Friday, 4/10. I took half a day off at 2 pm from work to go get her at her job and drive from Rancho Santa Margarita to Anaheim to go get it. Thought I should call before making the trip just to be sure, and then they tell me he hasn't been there and won't be there till after 5pm Friday. So ok, we stop on the way and run a couple of errands, now I am in rush hour traffic. I get there at 5:15 Friday and still no driver and no wallet! I find it totally unacceptable that I'm got this runaround and the wallet was still not returned to their main facility until 6:30 Friday evening! What the hell has that driver been doing for 2 straight days that he couldn't take a trip to his dispatch to turn that in? If you have a person's wallet, keys, phone, etc... these are things that they NEED, and can't necessarily wait 2 days to get back. When the driver finally showed up, he said he didn't come earlier because he had a schedule. Well guess what? I have a schedule too, and I just took 4 hours off work to drive to Anaheim in rush hour traffic and then sit there waiting for him for over an hour, when it should have been there waiting for me. 2 days is not acceptable. Your customer service is terrible! I got nothing but attitude from the guy in the office, complained to the director who was randomly walking out to go home (who did nothing), and was told multiple times that he would be there "in 5 more minutes". I understand they have a schedule to keep, but 2 days is too long to hold onto a person's valuables. If she were traveling on business or vacations she would certainly not have been able to go sit there and wait for the guys to finally decided to show up! You need to make a policy that lost items get turned in to the office within 24 hours! You can't tell me that those drivers are going to be unable to make that trip within a 24 hour timeframe, when they have to go in to the office and get their schedules for the day anyway! I just took a taxi from these guys from home to SNA... a very short distance. They arrived on-time to pick me up. Driver was patient and professional. I've used them on several occasions over the years when I needed a ride to the airport and have never had a problem. I also take taxis back from the airport--same thing--no problem. read more

The other reviews are correct about the customer service. The employees who answer the phones think they have some entitlement to how they are "right" and can hang up on their customers. Unless they gave me fake names, the first employee I spoke to was lisa, who for some reason cancelled my cab because I was "a no-show" at the location, even though I was waiting for over thirty minutes and even called back to find out what the hold up was. Then I spoke to the so-called manager, who claimed her name was Terise, got hugely defensive by responding, "I AM GIVING YOU CUSTOMER SERVICE" and when I asked to speak to someone above her and a corporate number, she snaps again by saying "you can look that up yourself". We had a fairly good experience with yellow cab during our week long stay in OC, but today has left a pretty bad taste in our mouths. We took a cab from our accommodation in Buena Park to our new motel in Fullerton. The driver was polite, drove safely, all good. He then asked if we'd organised a ride to the airport for when we were leaving 2 days later. We said no and he offered an $85 flat rate. Sounds good! He gave us a card with his number and the rate on it, said he'd be there at 11am for pick up and to call if we changed our minds. Well it's now 11.41am...we got our hotel to ring his number and he's not answering. Yellow Cab are saying there's no cab reserved for this area at 11am. Luckily the lovely receptionist at our motel called a different company who are on the way with an even cheaper flat rate. We're very lucky we've got ages til our flight and aren't in a rush, and even though we had no issues using YC from malls and theme parks etc, I would never use this company if I needed to be somewhere on time. read more

Took a cab twice. First ride, the guy could barely speak English and drove like he was driving Miss Daisy. He was beyond slow. Second ride, the guy was better. Drove fast and got us to our destination in a reasonable amount of time. But seriously both trips were 3 miles and it was $17 each way? NEGATIVE 5 STARS! There are certain experiences that require attention & criticism for the sake of improvement. But there are other situations that are downright horrible, unacceptable, and simply should never happen. Driver was 15 min late. This cannot happen when you're trying to catch a flight. Driver apologized and took $5 off the price. I requested a non-Prius taxi so that there would be no problem with space for 3 passengers and extra luggage. An appropriately sized sedan arrived but when I looked in the passenger seat, it was piled with trash, papers, and what looked like the driver's last fast food meal. I was intending on sitting in the passenger seat but the driver made no indication he was going to clear the seat for anyone to sit in. And so, it was 3 adults smashed into the back seat. Driver also arrived unkempt, poorly dressed, as if he had just woken up or didn't get any sleep. Trunk space also had trash scattered everywhere and he had to push it aside to get our luggage in. Does he live out of his car? This was a complete strikeout in light of what the company website states: "...attired in white shirts and black slacks, arrive at your door on-time and ready to serve. Yellow Cab of Greater Orange County's vehicles are clean, pleasant..." The vehicle was bumpy during the ride and the engine sounded like a lawn mower. It didn't seem fit to be on the road and I actually considered stopping the ride to be dropped off and continue with another ride service. I felt lucky to make it to the airport. The driver drove with one hand on the wheel most of the way, the other hand around the passenger seat. Between switching hands and paying attention to his phone, there were brief moments when NO HANDS were on the steering wheel and the car would veer as the driver would quickly catch the wheel again. This was beyond an unacceptable experience. This ride should have been FREE. I gave him the quoted rate with ZERO TIP and he seemed to show disappointment. This experience was so bad that I wondered if it was some kind of joke. He was the taxi driver you see in the movies. I couldn't believe this level of poor service even exists. When it happened once, I ignored it and told myself the driver may have had a bad day, but now that it's happened twice, I am lead to believe that the company either does not train its drivers properly or the company does not make an effort to closely interview its drivers. I often take a taxi to and from my office, which is across the street from John Wayne Airport. The fare is typically no more than $6.00-7.00 since the trip is short with only one red light in between. I typically leave a $2.00 tip, which is about 30% of the metered fare. Mind you, the driver does not typically help me with luggage, does not speak to me the entire 2 minute ride, and drives recklessly and rushedly to get rid of me as soon as possible. I've had drivers take my $8.00 and $9.00 and be thankful that he received a tip for doing nothing, and then I've had drivers react similarly to what I encountered this morning, which angered me enough to file a complaint with the BBB and write a review here, on Yelp. I took my usual trip from the airport to my office as I always do. This time, a van was dispatched but the airport taxi cab coordinator said prices for the van were the same as the regular vehicle. After telling the driver my destination, he scoffed at me as if the short trip was not worth his while. He proceeded to drive as fast as possible, rolling into the intersection during a red light, and taking turns at unsafe turning speeds for vans of that size. When he stops the vehicle, the meter is stopped at $6.15. My boyfriend gets out to get the luggage as I hand the driver $8.00. He counts the money and tells me it should be $10.00. We both look at the meter and he tries to hide it, but it is apparent that it says $6.15. He begins to raise his voice at me and saying that the meter should say $8.00 and that he usually gets $10.00 for this same trip. I told him that $8.00 was what he was getting and that I was tipping him for nothing since I got the baggage in and out of the cab myself. The second I stepped out of the vehicle and closed the door, he sped away, but recircled around to drive by me and yelled "cheapass" and spat at me as he drove by. I could NOT make an excuse for that behavior. The meter said $6.15 and I paid $8.00. I was trying to be nice by tipping the additional $1.85 even though he didn't help me with my 2 pieces of luggage (a carryon roller and a laptop bag), drove like a madman, and scoffed at me initially for the short trip. I tried to contact the company via phone, but the customer service representatives kept forwarding me to reservations and when I uttered the word "complaint", I would magically be disconnected. I ordered a cab online and received e-confirmation. The cab was supposed to pick me up at 8:30am for a trip to the airport. Obviously a trip to the airport means it is a time-sensitive journey. When the car was 10 minutes late I phoned and again 5 minutes later to check on the status, and both times I was told, rudely, that it would be there soon. I finally had to drive myself to the airport. I got a call from both the driver and dispatch just as I got to the airport - and they acted like I was the one who messed up and didn't show! Having to park my car at the airport cost me $160. Obviously it was a stressful start to an entire day of travel and meetings. If you want to have careless drivers, this is the place for you. A taxicab driver was driving recklessly, and managed to swipe my side view mirror. If I had not honked my horn he probably would have done serious damage. We both were headed to the same destination so we both pulled in, and I asked him for his information in a calm and civil manner. All I got back was a bunch of cussing and anger. When I contacted the dispatcher, a supervisor asked me to email photos and "upper management" would contact me in a couple days. Even though the damage is very small, I was not looking for monetary relief, I was more concerned about the safety of us other drivers on the road. They told me that there will be a wait of approximately 30 minutes as they have less of these. Ok Waited 45 minutes. Nothing. Called to check on status. I would NEVER recommend this company just from the way one of the driver drove. He stopped at a red light then when no cars were coming made an illegal u-turn (on a red light). Then cut off 2 different car to pull over and pick up some people walking on the side of the road, cut back into traffic and cut another 3 cars off to go through 2 sets of yellow road dividers on a wrong way street and pull into the main road and drive off. read more

Wasn't sure what to expect from this service reading some of the other reviews, but I had no problems. The operator said it might be 20 mins, but the wait was only about 5. Our driver was nice and chatted with us about different things the whole ride and we all shared a laugh or two. The fair was a little more than we were quoted, but that was because there was a detour that was unavoidable. It took him over one Hour to get close to the park. He would not pull over to let them out when they first started asking him to. When he finally did it,55 dollar is what he charged then and they walked the last 5 block . Then he had the nerve to give them his card so they could call him for the return ride. Absolutely the worst ride ever. I rode with 5 girls in a cab that was supposed to be 4 miles which should cost around $15. The driver, however, took advantage of the fact that he was driving five girls and took the longer way possible through thick traffic. (We knew there was a faster way with no traffic since part of the group we were with was there within 5 minutes and paid $14) After 45 minutes of being in the cab, we watched as the meter went up by the minute instead of by the mile. He kept turning on wrong roads and we were trying to negotiate a price with him. Finally we called the company and complained while in the car, so he agreed to the price since we were kn the phone with his manager. We got out of the car and walked the rest of the way. In a nutshell, girls be careful these drivers take advantage of you. Be aware of the rate you should be paying and don't let them make you pay what you shouldn't. read more

I'm a Concierge at a hotel in Orange County, CA and I was assisting a guest to reserve for a "wheel chair accessible" van taxi. We know it's very limited for these specific types of taxi, so we made a reservation a WEEK in advance. We had to jump through couple hoops making this reservation with a Yellow Cab. I got hold of a Supervisor to make the reservation. They even gave us a conformation number for the transportation. 4 days prior to the taxi run, the guest had to change the pick up time. When I called back, a different Yellow Cab Supervisor, told me they can't change the time nor, there wasn't any taxi available for the original pick up time. So basically, if the guest didn't change the pick up time, no "wheel chair accessible" taxi would not of shown up. Even though, the guest was given a confirmation number for the transportation. The fact Yellow Cab was just gonna leave our guest high & dry, especially, physically handicap guest is absolutely terrible taxi company. And to the last Supervisor I spoke with just didn't care at all and didn't even try to fix the problem. Very Poor Attitude. read more

NEVER EVER call this cab company if you actually hope to get where you want to go. I called for a cab to take me and my family to the airport at noon. 12:05 comes and no one is there. So I called the company and the person answering the phone without asking for my information, told me my cab was on the way and abruptly hung up. When 12:15 came, I called again, and they then told me that no one was on there way and they apologized. What kind of cab company does that?!?!
