Two other reputable ride services were also not available - Lyft won't carry teens without parents and HopSkipDrive does not allow for late reservations. She could have driven herself, but I was not ready for her to do this yet. LOL! I looked on Yelp and found Dave. Not only did he drive her from Huntington Beach to LA with less than two hours notice, he was so nice about it. He kept me informed and my daughter said he was very friendly and professional. It cost more than rideshare options, but it was so worth it! I highly recommend Dave and would trust him with my kiddo again! We will definitely be back.

I have a flight traveling out of states for work so I called this Greater Yellow Cab company for a taxi ride early in the morning a little past 4 AM today. After getting past the automation, a female foreigner receptionist answered my call and assured me that my ride would be arriving in 15 to 20 minutes. Upon waiting for more than 30 minutes, I called back inquiring about the status on the driver. I was then informed that the driver had supposedly 'called' me but I did not answer, which was a blatant lie, when I did not receive any calls whatsoever (keep in mind this is at 4 in the morning, volume set to max so cannot miss calls / notifications). Then I was informed that the IVR had automatically cancelled my request without notice and that I would have to wait another 20 plus minutes, on top of the 40 already, for a ride. I asked several times who the individual was assigned to my location, attempting to fix the problem but kept receiving the usual go around, which eventually forwarded me to their 'main office's in where after voicing my frustration promptly hung up on me evidencing their utter lack of professionalism. *DO NOT, DO NOT, DO NOT contact this company for any assistance.

I'm traveling out of town and didn't want the expense of leaving my car parked at the airport for a week. I called in the morning to schedule a cab at 4:30 that afternoon. The guy on the phone sounded like he was familiar with where to send my cab, almost to the point of making me feel like a dumbass for over explaining where I was so there would be no problems. At 4:35 no cab. I called to see what was going on and the dispatcher told me the guy was probably waiting for me on the opposite side of my building. Then the driver calls me and we determine he's about a mile or so down the road. At 4:41 he pulls up and tells me he's cash only. No prior warning of this during any prior discussion with these guys, not enough cash on hand and no time to get more. Driver says he'll call someone that can take a card and drives away. At 4:47 I call dispatch to find out how long until the next guy shows up and the dispatcher doesn't know anything about it and is surprised by the cash only demand of the original cab driver. I told him to forget it and got in my car and drove while I could still make my flight. Cab companies are going the way of the VHS player, brick phone and fax machine and this is why cab companies will cease to exist in 5 years.

There's a helpful automated screen, too, where you pay at the end. Receipts are sent to your e-mail or by text. Truth: I was quite concerned about how I'd get home tonight. The driver veered erratically between lanes and went very fast above the speed limit (80 in a 65 accelerating dramatically in the left-most lane). I had to repeatedly request that he slow down. He had his phone on the stand but repeatedly looked at it intently and made multiple swipes to the point that that was also unsafe and unquestionably illegal. He plugged my Costa Mesa address into his phone as a Santa Ana address, and so we went the wrong way on the 55, and when I told him that he just got irritated and told me to "relax, relax, relax." It wasn't until we got to the wrong address in Santa Ana that he understood my point and turned us around towards Costa Mesa. I was literally shaking because we were driving down industrial streets I didn't recognize with no witnesses and my phone was weirdly not getting signal, so basically your worst nightmare. I even asked to be let out of the cab, which he didn't acknowledge right away, but then he pulled up the correct Costa Mesa address and I chose that over unloading with all my bags on an unknown street. What should've been a simple 5 to 10 minute ride from the airport became a $50 tab on the meter, but he let me pay him just 25. I was so shaken I actually didn't understand in the moment (totally frozen) whether to give him the $25 change or the $50 bill, and he laughed at me like I was an idiot. I tried to share this directly with Yellow Cab Company, but haven't been able to speak to a person for almost 2 days so here you go. I have debriefed this with the sheriff, so just so you know if something weird happens in their cabs just call 911 because there's absolutely no clear readily accessible safety contacts in the company itself. This was my one big forray into what I thought was a real professional cab (usually do Lyft but was too tired to walk up to level three at airport) and I can say with absolute certainty it was my last.
