We needed a cab ride from Mountain View to SFO. On their website they have clearly priced the ride as being $70-$80. We were picked up on time, and the driver was very nice and friendly, no issues at all there. What I do have an issue with is being ripped off. Due to my own complete stupidity I realized I forget our passports at home while we were in the cab. I did not remember this till we were almost at the airport, and I told the driver, "oh no! I need to go back home." I explained my error. He was very nice, and said, no problem, turned around and I got the passport and we went back on our way. I figured, maybe instead of $70-80 dollars, I would be paying something like double. Strange thing is, there was NO METER. So it was not exactly obvious, what I would pay. But what I did NOT expect was to be charged $267.00!!!! I asked him why so high? And he said it was triple the fare. Now, correct me if I'm wrong but $267 divided by 3 is $90. So not only does this company not use a legal meter, but he charged me more than their quoted rates on their website! That is pure highway robbery!! $267 for a freaking cab ride to the airport? Zero heart. I did not want to argue, as I had a plane to catch, but, I would never use a company that takes complete advantage of someone like this. I was happy to see him arrive on time and he called prior to arrival which I appreciated a lot. My location was out of the way and it was still dark out, but there he was, on time! First of all, the cars and drivers, were 5 STARS ***** it was due to lack of communication, that I was forced to take off a star. Ordered a pickup online, for 1645 hrs (4:45 PM) at 1200 hrs (noon), the website made it appear, that all went well, and that I would receive a confirmation by email, or phone. , . . well, I waited and waited and no email or phone call. I finally called them at a few minutes past 3 PM. Someone answered, I stated that I had ordered a taxi for a pickup at 445 PM, but had heard nothing, the fellow on the other end responded with a rude raised voice, HOLD ON, HOLD ON, HOLD ON . . . followed by dead silence . . . this went on until, I was sure he had hung up on me. Finally, he came back on line, but he was clearly talking with someone else, so I couldn't make heads or tails of what was up? Then he starts taking my info while a woman was clearly raising a ruckus in the background. He clearly had no info about our order, but assured me a car would be here. It was really weird, and I would not want my business run in this manner. Even after our conversation, I was on edge until the car arrived. Okay, I'm not usually a "worry wart," but it was Her Ladyship's birthday, which I had stated on the website. We were headed for a high end steak house which, if we would have been late, would have resulted in a 3 hour wait. Of course, this would have not sit well with "she who MUST BE obeyed." Another words, my life would've been toast . . . In the end, all went well, Her grace, partied like a drunken sailor (me too), and buy the time we'd paid the bill, our server informed us, our car, awaited us . . . I have used Harry's service for about 2 years after an injury left me unable to drive for several months. Harry and his drivers are, without exception, courteous, timely, helpful and efficient. In other words, very professional! They delivered me safely and on time to numerous dr appointments, taking care to get me in and out of the car and building safely. I wanted a safe ride and figured that a professional taxi company would be more reliable and safe than uber. I was willing to pay more. I made a reservation via email and it was confirmed by Harry. My driver was named Harry. He was kind, considerate, and thoughtful. Throughout my drive he received several calls from customers and took them with a hands-free device. I overheard his professional interactions with clients and was very impressed. He even told me the background on some of those clients and I learned that he had accepted last minute calls, short drives, and even given free rides. You can't go wrong riding in a taxi driven by Harry. I had the pleasure of first sitting in Harry's cab two years ago. Since that ride, he's been the first (and only) person I call for transportation to/from SJC and SFO. Oftentimes I do not even get a chance to give him extra notice but he will be at my place exactly on time. Even the times where I've made him wait due to late baggage or a delayed flight arrival, he always greeted me with a big smile and a handshake at the airport.
