Stopped by Yellowbird to meet up with some friends and had a decent experience. The prices felt really high, around $10 for a small latte with one flavor, and it didn't quite live up to that. It didn't have much espresso, so it ended up tasting more like flavored milk. They do offer a nice variety of milk options at no extra charge, which is a plus. but still the drinks are very expensive for what you get. There's some seating inside and parking behind the building, which makes it convenient. The shop was cute but on the smaller side also the tables weren't very clean when we were there. The staff wasn't overly friendly and didn't make it feel especially welcoming. read more

Cute and quaint vibes in this local coffee spot. I love birds and yellow so being that the name is Yellowbird I was super intrigued. Enjoyed my cortado outside as there were lots of seating. There were lots of seating inside and they have the WiFi password available nearby most table for easy viewing. Some cute merch was available as were yummy baked goods. Seasonal homemade syrups are always a plus in my book. Service was friendly and quick. Will be back for sure! read more

Delicious latte's and plenty of seating. This place is popular too, but they do have some seating out as well. I just got a Chai Tea latte, and it did hit the spot. From what I remember the breakfast items are premade, so ingredients are what they come with, because of that I did not get anything to eat that day. read more

The customer service was great everyone is super nice but the food and drinks are just subpar. The latte tasted like straight milk and no flavor even though I got toasted coconut. The latte left a weird taste in my mouth too after every sip. And the food was just alright. I think for the price you pay you should get more. Paid $30 for 2 coffees and a burrito. I would have rather gone to a sit down restaurant for that price. Disappointing and kinda upset I spent my money here. read more

Yellowbird is an adorable small coffee shop in St Paul which has one of my favorite drinks off all time, The Selby. It's a chai latte with ginger chai, vanilla syrup and burnt sugar. So so so good!! Stopped by on Saturday morning to try their fall flavors, got the Nutty Bird and very much enjoyed it! As much as I loved my drink, I was a little shocked when it rang up around $8.50 but I did appreciate that there's no extra charge for alternative milk. Loved my early gray matcha!!! Also a cute interior and friendly service. We came here for a pop up and really enjoyed it.

I only order hot chocolate and they offer whole milk right off. It doesn't come automatically with whipped cream which is great for me. It's foamy enough on its own. Perfect little urban neighborhood coffee shop! Lots of tasty coffee options, very friendly staff, and a pleasant mess of evidence along all the walls that they care about the neighborhood and the larger community. It's a small enough space, with a contented enough customer base, that it can be a bit crowded during peak hours. They have parking spaces in the back (NOTE: it's not the parking lot next to them, you have to enter from Dunlap Street and park behind them), but those are also claimed quickly when it's busy. So just park on the street like we all do for so many businesses in this charming part of town. I like the Hamline, a sweet coffee treat with a modest mix of unique flavors; it's good enough to get every time, but I want to try more of what they have. I've also had a "morning bun" which I really liked (heated up is best). read more

What a nice little neighborhood coffee spot. It's got an interesting selection of coffee drinks and just a really nice homie vibe. I spent a couple hours and ending with a friend there one day. I was headed back to Chicago and I saw this place on yelp so wanted to try it out because it looked cute. I get there, I order, the guy was super nice but it seemed like he didn't know what he was doing drink making wise, the young lady seemed to be making most the drinks. I payed 7.89 for an iced dirty chai latte. I waited about 18 minutes before I politely asked about my drink, then they both looked at me like what do you mean and then the girl was looking at her coworker expecting an answer. It was just painfully confusing and I waited an additional 8 minutes then I just asked for a refund because I was trying to get on the road and figured I could stop at Caribou. When I asked for a refund she just made my drink very fast with a massive amount of oatmilk and handed it to me without saying anything. I didn't drink it :( read more

I went to Yellowbird Coffee Bar on a Sunday morning. It was a beautiful day so my friend and I were able to bike to the coffee shop which was so lovely. There is plenty of parking in a lot on the side of the coffee shop. Upon entering you walk right into the counter to order coffee and look at the treats they have to offer. They had a lot of coffee options to choose from and a list of signature drinks as well. I chose to get the Chai tea latte with skim milk and my friend got the latte with whole milk. The drinks were ready quickly and were served in the cute yellow mugs shown in the photos. There were a handful of seating options in the coffee shop and the coffee shop had a quiet, relaxing vibe, however, we chose to sit outside. I did not love my chai latte as it was much more milk than it was chai tea but my friend enjoyed his coffee. I would also like to note that I thought everything was priced really well, as coffee shops seem to hike up their prices. I really enjoy trying new coffee shops and this one was lovely. I especially enjoy getting coffee in a big mug and enjoying it over outstanding conversation. Check and check. Really nice place to stop in and have a coffee. A friend lives just down the block and we stopped in for a quick coffee. The atmosphere is very warm and inviting. Lots of light and nice places to sit. They promote local business and are super friendly. They offer different milk options for drinks including locally sourced small farm Minnesota milk in glass jugs. It really is a charming place to check out. I was on a cross-country solo trip and dropped in the Yellowbird Coffee Bar based on another Yelp review. So glad I did. I don't drink coffee (I know, I know), but found that when traveling solo, coffee houses are a great place to get a good feel for a city. This coffee bar was bustling, but the staff were really great-filled up my drink three times in the midst of their busy morning, had a great selection of pastry and lots of room to sit, work, eat and read. This coffee shop just opened in the Lex-Ham community. It's nestled between a yoga and hair studio and right of the 21 bus stop. There's plenty of street parking available and even an outdoor patio. I've been twice, once with my momma and once to work remote for the day. The internet is solid and I love the hardwood chairs. Since COVID hit, they have outdoor seating available but I've limited my time and done grab and go instead. They're still open and serving delicious coffee drinks. read more

An adorable coffee shop in St Paul! My friend and I decided to meet up for coffee. The whole shop smells like delicious coffee and that's how you know you've found a gem. We are both sensitive to dairy but they offer almond and oat milk (not listed on their menu). I went with the Selby (the chai latte) and really enjoyed it. Great blend of spices and stayed warm. Service was great and we got our drinks quickly. There is some seating inside but the place itself is small. Yellowbird also partners with local vendors and posts this on their website. I absolutely love seeing local businesses helping each other and working collaboratively. I am excited to see how this business continues to grow! What a bright sunny find in St. Paul. I ordered a dark roast, drip coffee. It hit the spot on this snowy afternoon. The space has tables and chairs as well as a seating area with 4 oversized chairs grouped together. The guy at the counter was really friendly and explained the different flavors of the coffee roasts which I appreciated. Only downside is what I think is the espresso machine loudness. I have never noticed this much noise at other places. It definitely puts a pause on conversation. But hey it won't stop me from going back. read more

I found another neighborhood coffee bar in St. Paul I wasn't expecting to find as I was detouring around construction heading West on Selby. A cool accidental find as I saw the banner hanging in the front signaling it's obviously a new set up. Casual as neighbors sit and work or noshing chatting. The usual concoctions are posted on a chalk board in traditional urban bar style. Daily specials and pastries, sandwiches made from Nelson's Cheese and Deli. I only had a brewed in the smaller size which was $3.25..oofta kind of steep for what I think was 12oz., as the barista didn't know what the actual size was. The brew was good enough for me to make a return if in the area but it wasn't highly to my liking. The place is new so we'll give plenty of license and try later. read more
