Finally had a chance to stop in and try this cute cafe/restaurant. Since it's mainly breakfast the hours are limited to early hours. Very friendly staff and clean inside. My only complaint is that the biscuit was cut diagonally so I couldn't eat it as a sandwich with the bacon and egg. Not sure if it was just a to-go issue or if that's how it's always served but I would appreciate it being left whole The biscuit and the seasonal jam were yummy!

Delicious! A wonderfully welcoming cafe with very very tasty homemade treats. We had a potpie and a lox biscuit. Both were delicious! A good meal really helps shape the day, and I heartily suggest you give them a try.

Hot Hands is one of those places that lives up to the hype. I've been for both breakfast and lunch now, and everything I've tried has been delicious. The food is comforting, fresh, and clearly made with care. And don't leave without checking out the pie case--the pies and baked treats are just as good as the meals. Definitely a spot I'll keep coming back to.

There is parking!!!! (see below) This is a really cute breakfast place. What I got when I came in was a warmed-up ham & cheese turnover along with a slice of pie. But looking around at the busy dining room I saw a lot of very awesome looking breakfast dishes that seemed to be on another level from my modest order. This is partly because when I arrived, a large line formed behind me at the single cashier and I didn't want to waste time perusing that breakfast menu so I pointed at something in the case. I will return and get something cooler; I recommend familiarizing yourself with their menu by the time you get to the register. The slice of pie I got was very tasty; it was the Toasted Vanilla pie. I want to try some of their other sweet options. I also got a straight drip coffee which was unremarkable. The people working here are super nice; it was really busy when I was there on a Sunday afternoon but the crew was unfazed. And again, the dining room is cute and not too small. There are tables outside as well. And yes there is a parking lot! Turn in from Snelling on the South end of the building, next to Coastal Seafoods.

Delicious breakfast biscuits here! Huge fan of the breakfast sandwich and the biscuit cinnamon roll French toast. Super yummy and a very cute restaurant. They have many take out options too, like whole pies and smaller pastries as well. Yum!

This was not a menu item, but something they posted on their Instagram and I showed up the next day to order it. It was very Friday energy of me! And it was everything that I expected and wanted it to be. The pound cake was moist (yea I said moist). The addition of the bacon for a bit of saltiness was perfect. The cream cheese was great, a little too sweet for me, but that's a personal preference. This was really good :D

My favorite chicken pot pie for takeout or dine-in! We went for brunch and had a delicious time. The smashed potatoes are crispy and great for sharing. The biscuits are perfect, and go so well with all of their breakfast menu items. My order was the perfect amount of food- savory and filling and I didn't need a bite more. There is a big free parking lot in back (that I didn't realize was there). This is also the place we often get pie for holidays because it's so good, and they sell it by the slice, as well as mini-pies and hand pies. You bus your own tables, and no alcoholic drinks, so just be prepared for that.

Second time here, and yes, it's still as amazing as the first time! We got the biscuit breakfast sandwich and WOW. We can't wait to try other things from their menu!

What a cute spot! A biscuit was just what we wanted and it was delicious! We ordered the traditional with honey butter & apple on the side and added scrambled egg & bacon. The coffee is from Folly, a solid brand. My daughter had an iced chai latte that was one of the best we have tried. It had a kick of clove that we enjoyed. As we were getting ready to pay a server passed by with the party potatoes... do not pass these up . On our way out we grabbed a juice that was outstanding. Now we need to find out where they can be purchased. It was watermelon & mint with I think spinach ? Pre bottled deliciousness!! I will be back for sweets next time

I've really enjoyed my experience at Hot Hands! Great staff and service and the vibe makes me feel so happy. I got the matcha latte with a mint syrup shot and it was delicious! What a combo! The syrup wasn't overly sweet and it tasted almost like the real mint plant. My partner got the peppermint mocha and he loves it - pretty sweet. The cranberry apple pie - my partner said 'is like a party in his tongue' because it's sweet, tart, a little salty, and almost a little peppery from cinnamon in the crust and crumble. I totally agree with the assessment. For mains, we got the honey fried chicken and it was delicious! The biscuit was perfect! We also got the hash, which was good overall, but not mind blowing. I will definitely be coming back.

Hot Hands is a casual place for brunch in St. Paul. My family and I are from out of town and just found out about in on Yelp. We stopped by to grab breakfast on a Saturday. The place was pretty busy but had plenty of seating. You order at the front counter and they bring your food to your table. I ordered the Ham Biscuit and Party Potatoes. The biscuit was fluffy and buttery. The biscuit sandwich was very flavorful, although kinda hard to eat (only because it's huge!). The potatoes were super yummy and were crispy on the edges but fluffy inside. You can definitely share this with 2-3 people. I thought the prices were reasonable. I was so full after. I will definitely come back if I'm ever in St. Paul again...and will not skip on the pies next time!

I love getting a weekend breakfast at Hot Hands. Their biscuits and gravy is vegetarian (which is hard to find) and reminds me of the biscuits and gravy I used to eat while living in Nashville. The party potatoes are always so crispy and well seasoned. Food usually comes out quickly sfter ordering at the clinic, and I love all the fun plants growing throughout the restaurant.

The young man at the counter offered me an extensive menu of regular coffees, espresso drinks and specialty drinks, all of which could be made hot or cold. They also have a variety of milk selections. Unfortunately, they were out of skim milk today, but he offered to tweak the amount when I told him that the main reason I usually had skim milk was to enhance the coffee flavor(and their coffee really tasted good). Additionally, he offered to make my drink in my personal cup which was great since I hate to use plastic whenever I can. This location is only a half block from United Hospital and all its various buildings and there is no good coffee within that entire complex. It's definitely worth getting a breath of fresh air and taking a block and a half stroll to have a great cup of Joe! By the way, although I tried hard not to look, their pastry case looked scrumptious, filled with homemade pies by the slice and other goodies. Since they are so close to the hospital it's really nice that they also have a lovely display of fresh cut flowers. Next time I'm down here I'm going to stop in for a meal. If the food is as good as the coffee I think I'll become a regular.

My husband and I loved how lightly sweetened both the cream and the dough were. My tween was a little indifferent and would've preferred something non-cream filled with more sugar, but that's a tween for you. It's a smaller space with some seating, but the seating doesn't have windows, so we opted to walk across and enjoy our donuts while wandering the farmers market instead -- honestly a perfect way to eat them. If you're a donut lover, put this place on your list even if you have to park and walk a bit. Worth it.

It seems that they are rightly known for their sweet baked goods, hence the name, but they have some savory offerings as well. I had heard good things about their congee so I made a point to try that. It was good! Filling, plenty of meat. I also have had a unique, savory roll that was buttery and great, I forgot what it's called but it's good. And I had a Lychee Rose brioche donut. Decadent! Delicious. Loved it. I got a Vietnamese coffee one time that was great, and a matcha milk with ube foam that was also great. So, yeah, really everything I've had has been great! The opening hours are painfully limited. They are only open from 9am to 1pm on Friday, Saturday, and Sunday. And both times I came it was close to noon and they were sold out of LOTS of things. I'm convinced that if you go there because you want something specific, you simply can't trust them to have it available. Instead of planning a specific visit, the wiser approach would be to give them a look if you're in the area during one of the 12 hours they are open in a given week, and see if you're interested in what they aren't sold out of. They have an indoor counter which you get to via the main entrance on 4th street, and guessing your way through the halls until you find them past that gallery. There is also a seating section which has the ambience of a break room at a DMV. But there is also an outdoor window on Saturday & Sunday, with some seats set up in the alley; that description sounds dicey but it's perfectly fine. My hope is that they improve on some of this to make for a more predictably positive experience!

There is a self-order kiosk or you can order at the counter. Food was mid in all honesty. The Strawberry Matcha Ice Cream was probably one of the biggest misses I have ever had. It is vanilla ice cream with strawberry jam at the bottom, and whisked matcha (still warm!) on TOP of the ice cream, making it a major spill hazard. This was pretty disappointing since we were expecting actual matcha ice cream (and maybe it was wrong of us to assume so). I wish the kiosk had images of the items for ordering though...didn't seem like there were any and you just had to hope that what you're getting sounds intriguing enough just by the name. Boba Ice Cream (brown sugar syrup) was okay. The brown sugar syrup was what was saving the entire thing. It's aesthetically cute, but it doesn't wow me.
