Second time here, and yes, it's still as amazing as the first time! We got the biscuit breakfast sandwich and WOW. We can't wait to try other things from their menu!

Delicious! A wonderfully welcoming cafe with very very tasty homemade treats. We had a potpie and a lox biscuit. Both were delicious! A good meal really helps shape the day, and I heartily suggest you give them a try.

Hot Hands is one of those places that lives up to the hype. I've been for both breakfast and lunch now, and everything I've tried has been delicious. The food is comforting, fresh, and clearly made with care. And don't leave without checking out the pie case--the pies and baked treats are just as good as the meals. Definitely a spot I'll keep coming back to.

Delicious breakfast biscuits here! Huge fan of the breakfast sandwich and the biscuit cinnamon roll French toast. Super yummy and a very cute restaurant. They have many take out options too, like whole pies and smaller pastries as well. Yum!

This was not a menu item, but something they posted on their Instagram and I showed up the next day to order it. It was very Friday energy of me! And it was everything that I expected and wanted it to be. The pound cake was moist (yea I said moist). The addition of the bacon for a bit of saltiness was perfect. The cream cheese was great, a little too sweet for me, but that's a personal preference. This was really good :D

My favorite chicken pot pie for takeout or dine-in! We went for brunch and had a delicious time. The smashed potatoes are crispy and great for sharing. The biscuits are perfect, and go so well with all of their breakfast menu items. My order was the perfect amount of food- savory and filling and I didn't need a bite more. There is a big free parking lot in back (that I didn't realize was there). This is also the place we often get pie for holidays because it's so good, and they sell it by the slice, as well as mini-pies and hand pies. You bus your own tables, and no alcoholic drinks, so just be prepared for that.

What a cute spot! A biscuit was just what we wanted and it was delicious! We ordered the traditional with honey butter & apple on the side and added scrambled egg & bacon. The coffee is from Folly, a solid brand. My daughter had an iced chai latte that was one of the best we have tried. It had a kick of clove that we enjoyed. As we were getting ready to pay a server passed by with the party potatoes... do not pass these up . On our way out we grabbed a juice that was outstanding. Now we need to find out where they can be purchased. It was watermelon & mint with I think spinach ? Pre bottled deliciousness!! I will be back for sweets next time

I've really enjoyed my experience at Hot Hands! Great staff and service and the vibe makes me feel so happy. I got the matcha latte with a mint syrup shot and it was delicious! What a combo! The syrup wasn't overly sweet and it tasted almost like the real mint plant. My partner got the peppermint mocha and he loves it - pretty sweet. The cranberry apple pie - my partner said 'is like a party in his tongue' because it's sweet, tart, a little salty, and almost a little peppery from cinnamon in the crust and crumble. I totally agree with the assessment. For mains, we got the honey fried chicken and it was delicious! The biscuit was perfect! We also got the hash, which was good overall, but not mind blowing. I will definitely be coming back.

Hot Hands is a casual place for brunch in St. Paul. My family and I are from out of town and just found out about in on Yelp. We stopped by to grab breakfast on a Saturday. The place was pretty busy but had plenty of seating. You order at the front counter and they bring your food to your table. I ordered the Ham Biscuit and Party Potatoes. The biscuit was fluffy and buttery. The biscuit sandwich was very flavorful, although kinda hard to eat (only because it's huge!). The potatoes were super yummy and were crispy on the edges but fluffy inside. You can definitely share this with 2-3 people. I thought the prices were reasonable. I was so full after. I will definitely come back if I'm ever in St. Paul again...and will not skip on the pies next time!

I love getting a weekend breakfast at Hot Hands. Their biscuits and gravy is vegetarian (which is hard to find) and reminds me of the biscuits and gravy I used to eat while living in Nashville. The party potatoes are always so crispy and well seasoned. Food usually comes out quickly sfter ordering at the clinic, and I love all the fun plants growing throughout the restaurant.

A bright good vibe place that we can't call a coffee bar, but more like a restaurant coffee bar style. The coffees are cold brew and drip blend which is somewhere between a medium and dark roast, leaning dark. Unfortunately the coffee this day was served below the proper temperature, hence not a five star rating. Who's a snob? Me? Well hell ya, been drinking the brew since I was 10. The shop is friendly, helpful and has a creative selection of baked items and small meals. Biscuits pies in small and large servings. A quick coffee snack for me was the Cheddar Biscuit with a crunchy crust and soft insides. Many types of dipping items and I would return to try again. Looks like a great place to just hang as there is plenty of seating.

This little place has a great vibe--all the detailed wood makes the modern style feel warm and welcoming. That vibe matches the food perfectly because it is wholesome and classic, yet presented with modern flair. I mean, just look at that square biscuit! And, of course, it was very tasty.

From the hostess who graciously held the doors open for us in the 95° heat to our incredible server, David, everything was outstanding. We started with cocktails. I had what may have been the best bourbon Old Fashioned I've ever tasted, and my wife enjoyed a wonderfully refreshing cocktail (whose name I, unfortunately, can't remember). We began our meal with the roasted Brussels sprouts. Normally, I'm not much of a Brussels sprouts fan, but I happily cleaned the plate. My wife and I shared the 12-ounce filet mignon, cooked medium rare, and it was absolute perfection. Chef's kiss. David recommended a bottle of wine to pair with our steak. It wasn't inexpensive, but it was worth every penny. But wait... there's more. As incredible as that wine was with the filet, it somehow paired even better (yes, I know that sounds impossible) with the slice of heaven they call chocolate cake. I'm sure it has a much fancier name on the menu, but "slice of heaven" seems more accurate. If you've read my other reviews, you know I have a tendency toward hyperbole. If there were ever a time to lean into it, this is it. THIS MEAL WAS FANTASTIC. THE AMBIANCE WAS PERFECT. THE FOOD WAS EXCEPTIONAL. AND THE COMPANY WAS DIVINE. We will absolutely be back--and when we do, we'll be asking for a table in David's section. (He works Tuesday through Friday.)

I started with the tequila and mezcal Old Fashioned, and it was fantastic. It was well-balanced, beautifully presented, and garnished perfectly. The food was equally impressive. The wings were delicious--crispy, well-seasoned, and cooked perfectly. My only small note would be that the celery was a little limp. The Caesar salad has officially been added to my regular rotation. The jammy egg was cooked perfectly with a rich, yolky center that was still easy to slice. The Parmesan crisps were thoughtfully sized, adding great texture without being so large they scraped the roof of your mouth. The salad was evenly dressed, making every bite flavorful. Overall, excellent food, outstanding cocktails, and warm, attentive service. I'll definitely be back.

I was seated at the end of the table and was bumped into constantly by the servers working the crowded nearby tables. Our server was a bit annoying, taking selfies with a friend's camera and trying to be witty. We ordered cocktails and wine and they took awhile to come to the table. Once our food was brought to the table (by other servers) he never checked to see if we liked our dishes or wanted more cocktails. The food was no better than the waitstaff. I ordered the walleye pike, which was accompanied by wild rice pilaf. The walleye came lukewarm with a strange lemony sauce on it. The rice pilaf was dry and tasteless. And I paid $39 for this plate of blandness. Another in my party ordered scallops at $56, there were 5 in a tasteless sauce with a few soggy greens in the middle. I believe the friends that ordered steak fared better. I was really looking forward to finally having dinner here, unfortunately my mediocre experience left me with no desire to ever come back, especially at the prices Jax charges.

Our meal closed with an ice cream sundae for our anniversary treat and we also shared the grasshopper pie. We loved the pie! There were still some things we really enjoyed, though, and I'm glad we gave it a try. We started with the French Onion Soup, which was one of my favorite parts of the meal. I loved that they used croutons instead of one giant piece of bread. Much easier to eat--no fighting with a giant bread raft to get to my soup! The flavor was really nice too. I had the Bolognese Pappardelle, which was good, and my partner really enjoyed his Hanger Steak. He also tried the Garlic Herb Mushrooms, but those weren't really his thing. I ordered the N.A. Lela Punch, and that one surprised me. I wasn't sure about it at first, but it grew on me as I drank it. Apparently we just needed a little time to get acquainted. Dessert was an adventure. I decided to try the White Chocolate Panna Cotta because I'd never had panna cotta before. It was beautifully plated, but this is also how I learned panna cotta has a Jell-O-like texture... and I do not like Jell-O. That's definitely a me problem rather than a criticism of how it was prepared. At least I can officially say I've tried panna cotta! I ended up trying the Crème Brûlée as well. Unfortunately, that wasn't my favorite either. I usually love crème brûlée, but I prefer the custard very smooth and creamy, and this one was thicker than I personally like. My partner had the Chocolate Molten Cake and thought it was okay, but it wasn't a favorite for him either. Overall, Lela had some definite highlights--the French Onion Soup, Bolognese Pappardelle, and Hanger Steak especially--but we also had a few misses. I can understand why other people really enjoy it; it just wasn't quite the restaurant for us. And hey, every restaurant adventure can't end with a new favorite.
