We caught The Prince Less Bride at Yellowstone Playhouse and thoroughly enjoyed both dinner and the show. This spoof of an all-time classic was very entertaining with several pop-culture jabs at both ends of several spectrums. If you can't laugh at yourself, learn to. If you can, then Yellowstone Playhouse is always a must see stop for dinner and entertainment when in the Island Park or West Yellowstone area. Family Night Live 2026 is a great blend of comedy, that's light & sophisticated, with musical numbers, that are nostalgic & inspiring. The actresses and actors are also the servers, chefs, and wait staff; which is a great opportunity to connect with them and add to the level of entertainment. Dinner is delicious and well proportioned. The prime rib is cooked perfectly with a tasty seasoning that compliments the meat without being overbearing. The chicken is tender and complimented with a flavorful light gravy that makes the dish work. Be sure to get the cinnamon rolls and one of the floats during intermission. read more

We just got home from seeing the Home School of Rock at the Yellowstone playhouse. What an absolutely hilarious show and an outstanding night of entertainment. The food was great and very plentiful, and the show kept us laughing from front to back. We had grandkids that were 4 and 5 and 8 years old ... and they were laughing right along with us. The food was amazing. I was surprised that they could feed so many people so quickly *and* have it taste absolutely excellent. They have a remarkable system for getting a huge number of people fed efficiently in a short time. If you are looking for high-end sophisticated theater-- you are in the wrong place. If you want a good laugh (with some jabs at local culture) and good improv and singing talent you'll enjoy your evening. The building is very nice as are the facilities and the way the seating is arranged. Much more comfortable and new than some local/tourist-oriented theaters I've been to. Good family fun. read more

Amazing gigantic tasty prime rib with rolls, corn, beans, salad! My prime rib was the largest prime rib I've ever had on my plate in my life and super tasty!! The show was hilarious and so much fun. The songs and singers were excellent, heartfelt and melodious harmonies. Loved the tribute to the military, veterans, and active duty! The finale celebrating the 250th Anniversary of Freedom was a wonderful ending. Kudos to the staff, chefs and the entire ensemble. We saw zoomanji here and none of us really liked it. It honestly wasn't a good story and not funny at all. The mc was funny and that was the best part of the show, a little stand up. My husband and I actually disliked it and wished it would end so we could leave. and my kids (7, 10, 13) who are easily entertained didn't really enjoy it either. I will say that the food was pretty good and more than plenty of it. We got the prime rib. Which was good for prime rib. Problem is we don't really like prime rib. The sides were really good. And we ordered a chocolate moose and it was amazing. Our kids got Mac and it was good, although they would prefer Kraft (ha). The staff was also really great. Very friendly and helpful. We had heard that this place was really entertaining so we were disappointed. We are possibly willing to try it again with a different show since we visit our cabin every year. If you're going to be in or near Island Park, this is a MUST!! Y'all...my husband and I booked tickets last minute after a colleague told us we had to...and YES!! He wasn't wrong! It was a great way to end a long day at Yellowstone. First, let's talk about the dinner...hubby and I got the prime rib and it was delish!! Also on that plate was a baked potato, beans, corn, roll, and salad. Everything was good (and I'm a super picky eater). Definitely isn't run of the mill buffet food and is deserving of praise all its own. The whole dinner was worth writing home about - next time I'm going for the homemade Mac and cheese! Plenty of food!! Well worth the money! The show was delightfully funny and very family friendly (no vulgarity, cussing, or anything sexual whatsoever) How refreshing! We had the opportunity to sit next to a family with some younger ones and they enjoyed the show a lot. So much laughter from those two. But for me, the best, was the whole family vibe. The cast and crew - fantastic job! Not just acting but the service (yes, they serve dinner and bring out concessions during intermissions). Everyone was so nice from entrance to exit. And that verse of Happy Trails will leave even the grumpiest of humans smiling from ear to ear. Beautiful family, awesome operation! Low expectations going in having attended similar places. The show we saw was Butter Knives out and had the prime rib dinner. Dinner was great! Huge slices of prime rib, good sides. Not a huge fan of plays or musicals so to say these guys entertained and impressed is a big understatement. I loved the MC wasn't PC!!! I loved the way he conducted, we all laughed so I think everyone did too. They are actually prepared for noisy kids and active in keeping your experience the best it can be. Their cry room is actually sound proofed with huge windows. Lots of cool references that kept everyone laughing, sit coms, movies, LDS. Very family friendly. This show was great, we saw Butter Knives Out. It was kitchey and funny. The choreography and singing far exceeded my expectations. There were plenty of jokes built in. Some were Mormon jokes, I even got few as a non Mormon. I'm a very liberal person and felt very welcomed. Moving on to the food - it was better than expected as well. The prime rib serving was easily double the average serving size and super tender. The desert was a quaint surprise. Overall, it was super fun. Short version: Highly recommended for a fun night out. The show: I love small community theatre & have acted & been involved in much of it, so I'm prejudiced towards it. Still, in all honesty, the acting, direction & production value were outstanding. The MC, who also acted & directed, was hilarious, blending local & national events effortlessly & humorously into the show & his stand up ad lib. If you've never been, you'll be pleasantly surprised at the high caliber entertainment up on the little stage. The food: We did the theatre only & skipped the meal so I'll leave that to someone who indulged. From the looks of it (school cafeteria style seating & tables, styrofoam vs. plates, pitchers of something to drink), we may have made the right call. Think "Sunday afternoon social" at a small, rural church. Because we didn't eat, we were seated right up front but extreme stage right, pretty much the front corner. Luckily, one of the very funny actors was seated there for much of the show so it was actually a perk for us. If your in Island Park this is a must see. People come from all over several times a year to see the different plays. The dinner theater has choice of chicken or prime rib. You would not really expect much from the food for a dinner theater. I was blown away by the Prime Rib. It was the best I have ever eaten. 6 others in our party said the same thing. They have a special rub they use and inject it into the meat as well. This makes the inside of the Prime Rib as good as the flavors in the outside. They use high quality meat and make it add tender as you will ever taste. The beans, corn bashed potato and rolls are the perfect side dish. They also serve a salad and cute little dessert. I watched a guy buy 8 cinnamon rolls, then come back to buy 4 more. They are amazing. As for as the food is the entertainment is even better. I was surprised to see the guy that served the Prime Rib be the star of the show. I am not sure I have ever laughed as hard as I did during the show. I have been to comedy clubs and comedians in many ships and this was funnier than any of them. The staff understands that your their guest and they are very accommodating and friendly. They go above and beyond any normal service for sure. You can just buy the show to enjoy on its own. I highly suggest doing the dinner theater for just a little more. Your not gonna get prime Rib if that quality and flavor anywhere for about 15 bucks more. I had read positive reviews but was blown away by the quality of the food and entertainment. We opted for the prime rib dinner and a show and we were not disappointed!! Our original reservation was cancelled due to unavoidable events, they gave us many options including a refund or seeing a different show. Since we are in the area all summer we opted for another show, however, they put us on a waiting list should an opening come up. They fit us in to the show we originally booked and we couldn't have been happier. The food was delicious, they were extremely well organized and the play was hilarious!! If you're in town for Yellowstone, this is a must see, especially with kids. Ok so the food isn't great but it is good enough and you are subsidizing the awesome show put on by the actors. We saw the third run of the Princeless Bride, and it was hilarious. Probably even better if you are Mormon or from Utah or Idaho, as there are lots of BYU and LDS jokes in the show. We went to this Dinner show on their opening weekend. Of course they was called Mack's Inn playhouse for years. This is just a new location and waaaay bigger & better. It's great for families or groups. I just went with my wife this trip and it was fun. The cast is seasoned and did a great job we went to see Pirates of the Caribbean and it was a great time. We wished we had brought more of our family but maybe next time we will we love supporting the arts & enjoy this kind of venue. The food is served buffet style and we had the Prime Rib is was excellent, I recommend that one with a lil horseradish it's awesome. When you first get there your salad is already on the table and their homemade ranch dressing is delicious! Then you also get a roll, Corn, baked beans & a baked potato, really a fine meal. THIS PLAYHOUSE is in ISLAND PARK and OH MY GOSH!!! This place is hilarious and the FOOD is delicious! We have lived in Idaho for 3 years and have seen 5 shows already! We typically camp nearby and go to a show one of the nights. Anyways, Prime Rib is the way to go, but the chicken looks good too. Intermission snacks are yummy - don't forget the cinnamon rolls. We buy them and eat them for breakfast the next day. These SPOOF shows are amazing - so funny with current references. During the Three Amigos at Del Taco Ranch, the lead was trying to get the other actors to break character by bringing in new jokes throughout the night. "My daughter Chalupa, she is so ugly" (how ugly is she?) Then he'd have a surprise punch line. It was hilarious! WE LOVE this place and hope they'll be around forever and ever! the food was mediocre at best. we were packed into our seats like sardines and had to turn our chairs around to watch the show. the "show" was horribly written, unfunny, offensive, and just plain bad. it was racist, dragphobic, and transphobic and packed full of Mormon inside jokes and conservative viewpoints. do not go here if you like good food, good theater, or good people because you will find none of those things. read more
