Absolutely some of the most delectable morsels I've ever tasted! Every dish was almost better than the next but my favorite by far was the flatiron steak! Also, the Centennial Cake at the end was exceptional (and I'm not even a sweets person). Apart from the food, the service, presentation and ambiance were all equally stellar!

What a very amazing evening we had at The Palace Arms! This historic hotel restaurant met every single need we had with bells on. Impeccable service, superb menu, and exceptional combinations of wine teed up a spectacular evening! The Director of Hospitality/F&B greeted us with wonderful tales about the history of the hotel and the bygone era of stagecoaches unloading by the first door to the restaurant in the late 1800's. He also shared the very special Napoleon paraphernalia encased in glass. Outside of France, this restaurant boast the largest collection of Napoleon's artifacts and guns outside of Paris! Now that is impressive!!! We dined on a fabulously fresh oysters on the half shell, oysters Rockefeller, homemade bread, pillowy and hot, with rich butter! The Caesar stood strong and market green salad was fresh and crispy with the perfect amount of toppings, including my favorite, figs. Man, enteren the incredible lobster Thermidor and steak, I couldn't choose my favorite. The chicken was juicy and tender also in a wonderful sauce moutarde. Squishing the roasted garlic from it on the crusty bread is the ticked! The black truffle macaroni was an obligation to try, and OMG, I almost died and went to heaven. Hands down, I would eat that as a last meal, maybe even better than the bananas foster, which is clearly the belle of the ball. You HAVE to run there and order it NOW!! Who cares about anything else when you have cheesy, noodly, crunchy goodness with TRUFFLE oil in a dish that is broiled a little to create this wonderful crispiness you long for? I can taste it now.... But I can't really, so I am sad. I will be back for sure! The 9 layer cake was the only thing that wasn't up my alley because of immense sweetness, but wow - it wins the beauty pageant for sure! Wonderful experience for fine dining with fabulous attention to detail and impeccable service. Thank you, Yelp, for bringing me closer to my God in the truffled macaroni dish.

Attended my first Yelp Elite event last night at Palace Arms inside the iconic Brown Palace. From start to finish, it was such a memorable dining experience. We kicked off the meal with a classic Caesar salad and a half dozen broiled oysters Rockefeller before moving into our entrées which were the Creekstone flatiron steak, broiled Maine lobster thermidor, and roasted portobello mushrooms. And of course, the star of the night, bottomless duck fat fries The sides were just as indulgent with green beans almondine and a rich black truffle macaroni gratin. For dessert we enjoyed bananas foster (loved watching it being made tableside) and the decadent 9-layer Brown Palace Centennial Cake. Grateful for such a wonderful evening with amazing food, great company, and a beautiful setting. Can't wait for the next one!

Bravooooo! First off, the staff was just awesome , everyone was so kind and attentive!!! Everyone made sure we were taken care of. The food, WOW! So delicious and amazing. Loves everything. First off, a huge thank you to Matt for inviting me to this event, and to the Brown Palace for closing the restaurant just for us to enjoy for a few hours. It truly felt like a lifetime of wonderment! Where do I even begin? Fair warning--I have nothing negative to say about the event or the Palace Arms restaurant. Walking into the Brown Palace itself is an experience of pure extravagance. Once inside the restaurant, you're instantly transported to another era, a reminder that Denver has always been more than a one-horse town. The staff were outstanding--friendly, attentive, and precise. My water and wine glasses were never empty, and they anticipated my needs without ever needing to ask. The food? Absolutely exceptional. I normally don't go for seafood, but I sampled the lobster and Broiled Oysters Rockefeller. Both were so good they nearly converted me into a seafood lover. My Creekstone Flatiron steak arrived a bit rarer than I usually prefer, but the tenderness and the rich cognac sauce more than made up for it. The sides paired beautifully with the dishes. And while I don't usually have much of a sweet tooth, the nine-layer Brown Palace Centennial Cake was truly unforgettable. All in all, Palace Arms is the kind of place you look forward to returning to again and again.

This event was so much fun! I am so glad I had the opportunity to come along! The food was impeccable and the staff was top notch! They moved around us seamlessly and had super interesting things to say/insight about the hotel and restaurant. Some of them have been there for over 15 years! The Palace arms is such a unique dining privilege/experience. With the largest collection of napoleon era items, the room itself is worth visiting. My favorite dishes were the steak and the Mac gratin, and the bananas foster was to die for. The chicken was incredibly moist and the oysters Rockefeller were scrumptious. I would recommend Palace Arms to everyone looking for an elevated dining experience with stand out historic atmosphere as well.

This was a spectacular event. An intimate dinner with new foodie loving friends. The staff was kind, accommodating and all around wonderful making it a standout experience. First Course: - Bread - nice and fluffy with a salty, herbaceous butter - Oysters Two Ways - They served oysters on the half shell and oysters Rockefeller. I have never experienced either before last night. Both were good, but I enjoyed the Oysters Rockefeller a bit more. - 2 Salads - Caesar and Market. The Caesar salad was your typical Caesar salad with a heavy anchovy flavor. I loved the market salad with the large butter lettuce leafs with shaved vegetables, honey dijon and candy tasting pecans. 2nd Course - Steak - with cognac au poivre. I don't really know what the sauce was but it was delicious. it had a heady pepper taste and the steak was perfection. - 1/2 Chicken with roasted garlic cloves and sauce moutarde. The chicken was so moist and flavorful and just the perfect amount of garlic. - Lobster - The whole tables eyes got big when they brought out the lobster that had Tarragon, Gruyere, and Dijon. I have never had Lobster like that. It was a thing of beauty. - Black Truffle Macaroni Gratin - A delightful change to macaroni and I love anything with Truffle. Cooked perfectly, lovely flavor with a touch of crisp. - Fries Cooked In Duck Fat - We had so many amazing items but this was one of my favorites. I love fries and these cooked in Duck Fat gave them an elevated flavor that I went home dreaming about. One bowl was just not enough for our table. Dessert: I don't know how we even had room left for this course. And we were privileged with a table side show of how they make Bananas Foster. - Bananas Foster - Not a lover of Bananas but they certainly changed my mind with this dish. It was so decadent served over vanilla ice cream. I loved the hints of the rum as all the flavors mixed together into a perfect bite. - Centennial cake - layered cake worthy of a royal dinner. It was everything you could possible need a dessert. - Macaroons - Just when you thought you were done. They surprise you will one final farewell. Tiny chocolate Macaroons that were spongy and chewy. Really a lovely night with amazing food and people!

Culinary Elegance at Palace Arms: A Beautifully Curated Yelp Event! A huge thank you to Matt and Yelp Team for organizing such a beautiful evening. I'm grateful for the invitation and could see how much thought and coordination went into making this dinner such a success. Palace Arms & Atmosphere Palace Arms, inside the historic Brown Palace Hotel, is truly a gem. The space is elegant yet cozy, decorated with a fascinating Napoleon collection that adds to the charm. It feels private and timeless, the perfect backdrop for a special dinner. And thank you to Edward, Director of Food & Beverage at Brown Palace Hotel, for closing the restaurant for this event. The way the story of the evening unfolded - both in the atmosphere and the dishes - made the whole experience flow seamlessly. Service The service was outstanding. The staff was attentive, gracious, and seemed to anticipate every need before anyone had to ask. That level of care really stood out and made the dinner feel effortless and elevated. Company One of the best parts of the night was the company. It was such a pleasure to share the table with John, Angela, and Austin. The conversations, laughs, and stories added so much to the evening - I'm glad we got to connect! Food & Wine We began with warm bread and butter, a simple but meaningful French tradition that set the tone for the meal. Favorite Starters - Gotham Greens Market Salad - crisp, fresh, and full of flavor. - Oysters Rockefeller - my favorite from the first course, perfectly seasoned and beautifully balanced. Favorite Mains & Sides - Roasted Portobello Mushrooms - earthy and delicious. - Broiled Maine Lobster Thermidor - a standout, with the greens inside adding depth to the dish. - Flatiron Steak - cooked well, though a little pepper-heavy for my taste. - Duck-Fat Fries - crispy, indulgent and very addictive! - Black Truffle Macaroni Gratin - the biggest surprise of the night for me - creamy, flavorful, and the perfect pairing with lobster. - Green Beans Almondine - bright, tasty, and a lighter counterbalance to the richer dishes. Favorite Dessert - Centennial Cake - the signature 9-layer Brown Palace cake was unforgettable, layered with flavor and the perfect sweet ending. The wine pairings throughout the evening were thoughtful and elevated each course beautifully. Overall This was a memorable evening in every way - wonderful food, excellent service, a stunning setting, and great company. Thank you again to Matt, Edward, the Palace Arms team, and my tablemates for creating such a special night!

Dinner was held in The Palace of Arms which holds the largest collecting of Napoleon era memorabilia in the world! FIRST: Market salad was delicious very light, perfect amount of dressing and excellent flavor. The butter lettuce worked well. Cesar was good a bit over dressed but authentic dressing. Oysters were delicious light and crispy! NEXT: Flatiron Steak was good but a bit over peppered on the ends. The middle pieces were better and perfectly cooked Mac n cheese was amazing. Very heavy but in small portions it's good. The portobello mushrooms were a hit all around. They were lightly cooked to perfection and the sauce complimented perfectly. If I'm honest, the lobster was a tad disappointing. I still don't know where the actual lobster was. I did get the top/head half so maybe it was all in the tail? The broth in the half chicken with 40 cloves of garlic was incredible.. so flavorful. I actually liked the broth better than the chicken. LAST: Dessert was delicious the 9 layer cake presentation was a 10/10 I loved the chocolate crest and gold foil. Bananas foster was good but a little too rich for me personally. However it was a good banana foster, I liked the cinnamon and crunchy bits. And they even finished it off with fries for the bananas foster ice cream! Nice touch Palace Arms, nice touch!! One of the best parts of the evening was the meeting of random strangers all with an affinity for good food! Thank you Yelp!!

Loved this event!!! One of the best Yelp events I have had the pleasure of attending. Thank you to Matt and all the staff at Brown Palace for putting on such a decadent event. The evening started off fantastically with hefty pours of delicious wines, which continued throughout the evening ;). I selected the Duckhorn Merlot - a true treat. Mouthwatering bread and two kinds of salads came out next. The favorite salad of the evening for me was the Gotham Greens Market. I will absolutely order this the next time I go to the Palace Arms. Two kinds of oysters were served, raw and Rockefeller. Oyster Rockefeller was to die for. For the main course, we got to try a little bit of everything - portobello mushrooms, duck fat french fries, flatiron steak, lobster thermidor, and chicken. All were so very, very good, but those fries with the sauce paired with the steak - amazing!!!! Bananas Foster and a slice of the Centennial Cake was served for dessert. Bananas Foster was one of the best I've had (paired very well with the duck fat fries too). Amazing event! Amazing people! Amazing food! Thank you!!!

This was my first yelp event as an Elite and also first time I've been to this hotel. I've always wondered what that building was and glad to have been apart of the Dinner Party. The food was amazing. Enjoyed the platted family style dinner. The wait staff were too notch and very professional but also friendly. Talked about Ghosts, each dish, met some new people and got to experience such an amazing and historical restaurant and building. 100% coming back here for a date night or even wine and dine myself.

This restaurant is so amazing...it has the most memorabilia of Napoleon in the world...crazy! The staff was THE BEST! They changed my plate and silverware like 3 times and kept my water filled. I don't drink alcohol but I saw they were constantly refilling the other Yelpers wine glasses. The food was delicious. My favorite was...well everything! I left so full that my stomach kinda hurt...but in the best way possible! Thanks again Matt for organizing this and the last minute invite'

They offer free tours, which involves watching a short clip about the history of Hammond and then watching the employees work through a looking glass. It was neat learning about this candy business; I've never heard about it. I love learning origin stories because it gives me an idea of the company's values. I think it's amazing that they HAND MAKE all their candies. They have cute paper hats that you can wear. In addition, there are some areas for good photo opportunities. After the tour, you are gifted with a candy cane! You are then led into their candy store. You obviously don't have to purchase anything, but to complete the experience, it doesn't hurt to walk away with some chocolate. (: I'm not from Colorado, so I'm not sure if the prices were cheaper or more expensive than the grocery store (I'm going to assume more expensive). Regardless, we did buy some things. I got a Hammond chocolate bar, some discounted chocolate from their clearance section, and their popular Mitchell Sweets. The Mitchell sweet is $2 for a small packet! My husband liked it, but I thought it was extremely sweet and I only took the tiniest bite. I feel like that little packet can go a long way because of the sweetness. They charge $0.10 for a bag. I didn't want to pay for a bag, so I just used my paper hat as a tray. lol Overall, I did enjoy the visit. I like that it was free and candy cane gift at the end was the sweet cherry on top of the tour.

Well the first leg of the hot wing tour is complete and I thought it was a success! It took place…read morein the Southeast area of town and included Wingin' It, Grillin' Wings and Things (Park Meadows), Wing Hut (Hampden and Chambers), and Woody's (Buckley Road). We started with 50 wings and 5 sauces at Wingin' It for 9 people (thanks for joining us Dan N) . All the sauces we tried were pretty good (Honey Mustard 5/10) and I thought the good sized wings were cooked nicely with a good crisp. Next up was Grillin' Wings and Things. Since Dan N continued on his journey to Home Depot we were at 8 people. We ordered 2 dozen wings with three different sauces. (Asian Bite unanimous). Wings here are fried, then sauced, and then grilled to caramelize the sauce. These are the wings pictured in the first photo. Grilling these good sized wings is definitely a great idea. A little bit of char, a nice crunch and the added flavor of the flame. We did notice that the sugar in the sweeter sauces lended itself better to grilling because of the caramelization while the savory ones lose some of their flavor? We were served small cups of the sauce with the wings though so more sauce could be added. We were also comped a 6-piece order of their pork shank "Pig Wings" which everyone loved! Thanks GW&T! Wing Hut was our third stop. This was Dale Z's rec and Wing Hut was the only spot out of the 4 that I had had before and i did enjoy them previously. They have a decent selection of craft beers and they also have Jones brand soda on their dispenser. We ordered three pounds of wings (6-8 pieces per) with three sauces. (Inferno Ranch 6-8) The smallish wings were cooked well but rather heavily sauced. With such a large and interesting selection of sauces (not nearly the 50 that Wingin' it boasts though), there are other sauces we would probably try on any subsequent visits. (They are caddy-corner from Dry Dock Brewing which is def. an advantage for them). Last stop Woody's Wings Aurora. Now down to 6 people we ordered 3 of their 6-piece wing orders with three sauces. A much shorter list of sauces AND a 99 cent upcharge for their Honey Sriracha sauce? Is the HS sauce that good? Is it the only sauce they put name brand ingredients in? Was the 5-gallon bucket the cock sauce came in blessed by David Tran? WTH, we'll bite. (Honey Sriracha 6-6 I'm gonna have to come up with a recipe at home!) I think there was a consensus that the good sized wings were slightly underdone and hence not very crispy and the meat closest to the bone had that slightly slimy mouth feel like a frog leg. A big thanks to the crew that came out to join us on this inception tour and to Cyn C for hauling us around. Always great to see you all! Yeah, I'm slightly winged out so it might be a bit before the next one and I think we'll take Cyn C's suggestion and maybe only do three spots next time so we can sample more sauces at each place. But, stay tuned because it is going to happen!

We toured four wing places, and via a democratic process, decided on how many wings and how many flavors/sauces to try at each spot. We all worked well together, taking turns paying the bill and dividing up the cost per person (at some point, it felt like we just kept passing money around to each other, but hey! I ended up with a bunch of cash in my pocket, so no complaints here). If you like wings, you should join us for the next tour (which hopefully isn't super soon, b/c my cholesterol level needs to recover).

UPDATE! Having been…read moreto the Denver Brew Fest (both summer and winter sessions) MANY times over the years; I can def say, "Woohoo! As good as it gets!" + SPACE: Mile High Station is a great venue for this Fest! It def embodies Colorado. It's a turn of the century steel and ironworks building that has been repurposed into and event space! Love the character. The only drawback here is the parking! The lot is super small. If you have a light-rail station near you I'd say take that to Mile High Stadium and walk over from there. It's not even a ten minute walk. + BREWERS: The line up is always fantastic! Obvs Colorado breweries dominate the show, but there's plenty of others in attendance too! Over the years I have even seen brewers from my hometown in Northern California in attendance. Colorado breweries often include names such as: Denver Beer Co, Stem Ciders, Crooked Stave, Grist, Wild Cider, Ratio Beerworks, Verboten, Weldworks, Strange Craft, Little Machine, Pikes Peak, Oscar Blues, and sooo many more. + FOOD TRUCKS: My personal favorite has been on-site for each Fest to date. Basic Kneads. It's pizza done awesome. Plus The Goods is usually on hand serving up some excellent smoked and grilled meats. Turkey leg anyone? + ENTERTAINMENT: There's a live band for each evening. This year featured Nevermind the 90's and Super Doppler. Usually the band is set up on a stage outside or in a tent area outside (depending on weather). They have speakers set up all around to ensure you can hear the tune regardless of where you are in the venue. + PRICE: At only $35 for general admission and $45 for VIP, I can safely say this is one of the cheapest Fests out there. But don't let the cheap cost fool you. They really deliver! A suggestion I would have for the future would be a two day pass offering. For those who want to check out both days of festivities. The proceeds from Denver Brew Fest support Swallow Hill Music. I know that I will continue to be a patron of the Denver Brew Fest in the years to come! Most def can't wait for the next Fest! Cheers! **Pro Tip: I HIGHLY recommend buying the VIP tickets. Why? 1) You get an extra hour to enjoy even more brews. 2) Less people during the VIP hour. 3) Special tappings are often offered by the brewers. Go ahead. Treat yo' self, you VIP you!

So we just went to the 1940's Ball at the Boulder Airport June 15th after getting our hopes up for…read moreover a year after my fiancé's friend went and told him about it. He's a huge history buff so we went all out on buying a suit and accessories for him, a dress and accessories for me, plus the time and effort putting it all together. I don't know if this is how it is every year and I'm aware it was sold out, but for what we paid we felt pretty let down. First, I'm disabled and nobody knew where to tell us to park for ADA parking, we had to ask 5 people and make 2 circles before someone directed us somewhat correctly. And a guy in a hi-vis vest basically told us to park where we were at which wasn't super accessible but we made it work. I'm not wheelchair bound yet but it was a good walk from where we parked. There seemed like there was no planning for ADA parking. I couldn't imagine having to navigate that area in a wheelchair or even with a cane. Upon entry, we noticed the crowds and how tight it was trying to walk around there. You were bumping into people everywhere you turned. There were booths to sell things in a portion of the area and even that was crowded. And it didn't seem like there were very many of them. And you pretty much had to wait in line to get to the booth and actually go in or see their offerings. Every single thing from the atm, to drinks, to photos with planes or scenes, had a line of at least 50-75 people, or more in some instances, often times having multiple long lines for things like each side of the planes or alcoholic drinks. Or lines for drink tickets to go stand in another line for drinks. We opted out of drinking after seeing the process. Even if you bought drink tickets in advance, you'd have had a really long line. And then lines were running into other lines, and in the middle of the line about every 15 minutes they had to split the crowds to get their little trash carts around. We tried to walk around to things but everything was so full there was no room to enjoy it, couldn't even find room on the dance floor or anywhere near that stage. The other dance area in the hangar was packed full and you couldn't get in. We were able to find a spot to stand and hear a few Hawaiian songs, the group was really good. Afterwards we got a few pictures and decided maybe the lines would die down if we grabbed dinner. When we found the dining area the tables and chairs were basically squished together so badly that you couldn't get to the only available seating. I don't know who set this thing up but the tables were set up where there was maybe 2 ft of room between each of them, add some folding chairs on each side of this narrow isle and people and you're practically on top of one another. After standing around and looking for 15 minutes we finally found 2 spots, having to climb over 3 people to get there. It took about 10 minutes at the atm, another 30 for 2 lemonades, and another 30 for 2 burgers. By this time we were less than impressed but we were keeping our seats and waiting for the advertised flyover at 735ish. By 830 it still had never happened. We never even knew why it didn't happen, if there was an announcement, it was not audible. It was still on the website as a scheduled activity at 730. It was a big disappointment especially since it was one of the reasons why my fiancé wanted to go. It was getting dark and they started the "drive in movie" which was just short clips, like trailers, for everything Bob Hope had ever been in. No actual movie at least while we were there before we gave up and left. We got one single picture of us with one plane. That line only had like 10 people. We Didn't get to dance, didn't get to do any of the other activities, and I feel cheated after spending a total of almost $700 between the tickets, food, clothes, and accessories. I'm really glad I didn't spend money to get my hair or makeup done. It's like somebody thought "how many people can we cram in here for at least $100 each?" Like did vendors or certain activities bail out? Like is this how this event is? Looking around we weren't the only people who looked miserable. It wasn't a "Ball", it was like a crammed flea market with 20 booths a few classic cars and armed forces equipment and a few planes and long lines everywhere to see it more than in passing. It felt thrown together and seemed like we paid $200 to stand in line for dinner and to watch some movie trailers from the 1940s.

It was overall cleaner than I expected, although the foot of the bed where you can put some of your stuff was really dusty. They have lockers under the beds, which were pretty dusty as your stuff just goes directly on the floor. They charge $4 to rent a lock. I appreciated how there were curtains on the bunk beds. Each room is themed, and I stayed in the Maps room, which was all female. This was the cutest, best decorated dorm I've stayed in. I loved the theme. The communal restrooms were clean, although one of the showers wasn't working. The bar was lively in the evening, and the work areas were nice.

The sheets were pilling and whatever was inside the blanket was uneven so it felt weird. The bathroom and shower were clean but do bring your own slippers and supplies. Needless to say, these are shared to go in early if you want to avoid wait or prior usage. There's a bar inside the building and it will get loud at night so if your are a light sleeper, think twice or come prepared. The location is very conveniently located in downtown with many nearby places to explored.

It was so desperate that people were peeing in the random showers that were also in the restrooms. Even the portolets for GA had massive lines. VIP desserts were wiped out well before midnight and not restocked. The music was so, so bad. The "partnership" with taxis was nonexistent--we only got home thanks to the generosity of a stranger. Additionally, hired security was discriminating against attendees at the VIP bathrooms. I was in line for the men's bathroom but security would not let me in because I didn't appear to be dressed as a traditional "man". My partner later reported to me there were no urinals in the men's bathroom, so I can't understand why security would deny entry to anyone. Security blocked the door and wouldn't let me by, and forced me to go stand in the women's line and use that bathroom. Was so excited for this party but left extremely disappointed. Boy were we wrong. We were forced to wait outside in line in 9 degree weather for about 50 min. I felt so bad for all the females in line as most were not prepared for this reckless journey inside this frat party. My girlfriend was almost in tears when we arrived to the coat racks. I wish i could say we got inside and everything turned around, but it didn't. Lines to get drinks were about 15+ mins and we just never could snap out of being frozen for 50 min. Really wish we had a back up plan for the night. Wouldn't recommend this event.
