Yelp Dinner Party: Tacomasa, Brea Adobada and Lengua Vampiro Tacos, Watermelon Aqua Fresca, & Chocolate Abuelita Soft Serve
    Mojo S.

This was some amazing food and amazing atmosphere. The lengua tacos especially I found delectable. Lengua has always been a crave-able meat to me, appealing to the part of me that loves stuff off the beaten path when it comes to my meats. Lengua hits with just that right experience of bold and unexpected. And the lengua vampiro taco here was superb--managing to mingle flavors and spices that accentuated the flavor of the lengua. The abodoba too was great. I thought it would make a great counter-point to the lengua and it did its job. I also enjoyed the watermelon aqua fresca. They had so many options that it was hard to narrow it down to this one. It was refreshing and not overly sweet. I really could have swigged this all night but that would've just left me a bloated mess. So too was the abuelita chocolate soft serve. It came at just the right time. I'm not really a huge fan of soft serve when it comes to dairy desserts. But I found this version of chocolate sauce--homemade I think--a deft touch and a step up from what you think of when someone mentions soft serve. The staff was great and welcoming. I had good interactions with everyone I came into contact with. If this is how they are everyday this whole place will be a success. All in all, it was a rousing success and one I found myself glad I decided to come to.

Had to check out the buzz for the new Tacomasa in Brea and I'm happy I got to do so through the Yelp dinner party series. While we waited in line to order, Diana, a Tacomasa staff, was so kind to go around and present the menu and answer any questions. She was so friendly and made excellent recommendations. Ordering was simple and the staff were so attentive. Hayley was so kind as to walk us over to the drink station and then to our tables. A huge thank you to her and the whole team. I didn't order tacos but some other table mates did, and they were HUGE. The mulitas and vampiros were also sizable and very filling. I had one mulita de asada and one vampiro de nopal (cactus). The vampiro de nopal was my favorite. I love the crunch of the vampiro and the salsa, cheese, guac added such good flavor. I tried the cucumber and pineapple agua fresca and the Jamaica. Both were refreshing, but if you prefer a less sweet drink, like me, I recommend going with the Jamaica. The abuelita ice cream was divine and the perfect ending to a lovely dinner. We all unboxed a surprise gift from the Yelp team, so it was fun to see what all the table mates received. I got some super cute Yelp socks, which I can't wait to use. PS: If you see this review, table mates, please add me: the struggle to find each other on the app was REAL.

Thank you Tacomasa Brea for having us! Hope you guys have a great grand opening! Was delighted to see they had a large assortment of agua fresca flavors to choose from, my favorite was the guayana con limon but the sandia mixed with pepino con limon can in a close second. Also love that they have pebbled ice. Selected 2 tacos (lengua and adobada) and a mulita (asada). Meat portion sizes are large for the taco, which is A++. My favorite meat was the adobada, which was moist and flavorful and packed a punch. Close second was the asada. Finished the meal off with chocolate abuelita side serve, which was delightful in flavor, and not too sweet and overwhelming. Staff were extremely friendly and helpful, giving recommendations and checking on our table throughout the meal Will definitely be back to try everything else on the menu!

Big thanks to Hayley from the Yelp OC team for squeezing me into this Tacomasa Yelp Elite event, so glad I got to be part of it! I've lived nearby Downtown Brea/Birch and I can tell this spot is going to be a game changer, because it finally has the casual authentic taco spot it's been missing!! Got to try 4 tacos (carne asada + adobada) on freshly made in house tortillas, loaded with tender and flavorful meats, and generous creamy sauces that were soo good and filling. The plátano agua fresca tasted like a banana horchata and was so rich and refreshing. Ended with Abuelita chocolate soft serve which was also rich and cinnamony! Definitely bringing family and friends here soon!

Everything was above and beyond expectations! Great job Hayley and Tacomasa Team! The Tacomasa Team was so kind, helpful and seamless on the execution. Marco gave FANTASTIC recommendations and I am so glad he gave me new things to try! The food: amazing. Definitely hearty and worth the price point. The lengua was so tender and the adobada was the perfect amount of crispy. The Asada Mulita was a new style for me and so excited to say it was my favorite of the night! The real MVPs were the salsas! Each unique in flavor profile and the perfect amount of heat. Not only was the food amazing but so were the aqua frescas-- I'm going to be having withdrawals from the perfect amount of sweet these were and all of the different options! The abuelita hot chocolate soft serve was the perfect end to the meal. The hint of cinnamon was the winner, making it unique and different. Thanks for an incredible night and can't wait to bring friends back when you're open for another yummy experience!

Absolutely beautiful and chill place to enjoy your food inside or outdoor patio. Plenty of free parking in the structure. Upon entering u notice their big blue and white building with signage. Then as you walk in,you hear a voice "Welcome". As your greeted by hostess handing you a menu outside she's explaining the menu. Great customer service and super delicious food. I must say, their tripe(tripas) was extra crunchy, and didn't even have to ask! I enjoyed their asada, lengua and adobada. All came with a guacamole sauce and fixings. I did request the salsa on the side and GOOD thing I did. There was a Green one that was fire. Each meat had a suggested sauce which hostess explained as she brought the food to my table. Yikes, homemade tortillas was perfect! My hubby had 2 mulletas: adobada(marinated pork) and asada(flank steak). Delicious taste, super soft tortillas, and the perfect size. I was excited to try las agua frescas. Host came and asked if we wanted smaller cups to taste them all. Why sure,we will try. I went for the banana and that was like having a milk shake. In was good, very unique. I kept to the hibiscus Overall, the ambiance, cleanliness, taste and quality was superb. I must mention, this place is dog friendly,as they offer your furbaby dog treats upon arrival. I will definitely bring my family here, and try some of their other menu items. I left with a full belly, almost missed out on the abuelitas chocolate ice-cream BUT I made room for it. I'm so glad I did because that was so delicious. Kind of a mocha flavored. Again, I recommend this place for quick bite large or small parties. Thank the staff for their hospitality!

I was SO grateful to be able to attend this Yelp dinner party--it was such a fun experience, and I would absolutely go to another event in the future. These gatherings are such a great way to meet new people, try different spots, and enjoy a lively atmosphere. This was my first time at this restaurant (though I later learned it's a smaller SoCal chain), and I was excited because I had been craving tacos. I was in the 7:30 group, so by the time we started it was sundown, which worked out perfectly since the space is so open--I imagine it gets pretty hot earlier in the day. Seating was prompt, and I was paired with five other people I had never met before. Everyone was lovely, and the vibe of the whole event was infectious. To start, we were able to sample all of the agua frescas, and my favorite by far was the guava lemon. I was so happy to be able to take a cup home to share with my girlfriend, who also loved it. When it came time to order, the staff was incredibly helpful in giving suggestions, and I ended up with the asada mulitas, pollo asado taco, and an adobada taco. Now, separating my food review from the event itself (because the event was 10/10), the food itself was unfortunately a miss for me. The chicken taco looked under-seasoned, and sure enough, it tasted plain--just regular chicken without much flavor. The adobada was also lacking, which was disappointing since I normally love adobada. The asada had the same issue: bland overall, and the sauces didn't do much to elevate it. At $5 a taco, I wouldn't come back for the food alone. That said, the chocolate ice cream was fantastic--rich, creamy, and a very generous portion size, which I really appreciated. I would come back just for that dessert. Another fun touch was the blind boxes Yelp provided. I'm a sucker for blind boxes, so this was such a cute surprise. I originally got socks, but I ended up trading with someone at my table for the jade roller (which my cat now loves). It was such a fun memento of the night and made the experience even more memorable. Overall, while the food wasn't for me, the event itself was a blast. Great atmosphere, great people, and thoughtful little touches that made the night feel special. I can't wait to go to another Yelp event and try more places in the future.

Hands down the best Yelp event I have ever been to! We were able to order either 4 tacos, 2 mulitas or 2 vampiros + a drink + abuelita ice cream AND they had Yelp blind boxes for everyone. The food was amazing, I got the pork and steak mulita and wow I'm blown away by the meat. The pork was flavorful and juicy and the steak had a nice char flavor to it. The portion was also so generous too. The abuelita ice cream was the best dessert to end the meal. It had a hint of cinnamon mixed with a vanilla soft serve. I will definitely be back!

What an absolutely wonderful event! Huge thanks to Hayley and crew for the invite and for making it such a memorable experience. The Yelp team truly thought of everything--from the perfectly set tables and custom menus to the cute napkins and even a surprise goody box. Every little detail felt intentional. Service was seamless from start to finish--smooth check-in, attentive staff, and a sweet ending with dessert. The food? Delicious. I went for two Carne Asada tacos and an adobada mulita. Whoever decided to tuck guacamole inside that mulita deserves a medal--it gave it that extra flavor boost I've never had in other versions. And then there were the aguas frescas... I might have accidentally turned it into an all-you-can-drink tasting session. Jamaica, horchata, sandía, guava, plátano, pepino y limón--each one was better than the last. To top it all off, the chocolate Abuelita soft serve was dreamy. I usually sip Abuelita hot in the winter, so having it as creamy, cold soft serve was such a treat. All in all, I had an amazing time. Thank you, Yelp team--I'm already looking forward to the next one!

Wow! This was my first yelp event and it has definitely inspired me to go to more! Thank you to the Yelp team and of course the team at Tacomasa for hosting and working so hard on such a great event! Delicious and fun! First of all, the food was great! I got a combination of 2 tacos and 1 vampiro because I have never tried a vampiro and wanted to still play it safe. The tacos I got were pollo asada (chicken) and adobada (pork). The vampiro was asada (steak). The meat in everything was a good portion. I really enjoyed the meats and the flavors! I'm not a big steak girl and I actually really enjoyed the vampiro! Additionally, since it was my first vampiro, I did enjoy the texture of the crunchy corn tortillas and the cheese! Would definitely get again. Also enjoyed both the tacos and the meats. I tried the Sandia (watermelon) agua fresca and the green one (I think it was pepino con limon - cucumber and pineapple or lemon?) and both were refreshing and tasty! Dessert was the chocolate abuelita and vanilla soft serve swirl which was yummy! I feel like it wasn't too sweet! Service was amazing! The lady passing out the menu to us was so nice and shared her recommendations for me. She was also very knowledgeable and explained the difference between vampiros and mulitas! The lady who took my order was also very kind and allowed me to do a mix and match of 2 tacos and 1 vampiro. I don't know how long the food took because we were able to get agua fresca and chit chatted with new yelpers. They were very thorough when explaining which items were supposed to be eaten with which salsas (unfortunately I forgot which went with which). After serving us the food, the server (same as the one passing out the menus) was also very mindful and always asked each of us if we needed anything else before leaving. They also were quick to clear plates. I was so full so I asked for a bag and foil and they were very quick to accommodate. Excellent service and hospitality. Finally, ambience was great! I love the beautiful outdoor seating and the vibes of the table top where I sat. It's a perfect spot for a casual date night or just a hangout with some friends in downtown Brea! Definitely a spot I would visit again!

Had such a great time at this Yelp dinner party event! I got to try four tacos combo, which were steak, pork, chicken, and lengua (beef tongue) and the lengua was my favorite. Super tender, easy to eat, and the creamy guac + 3 sauces that were given to us on the side made everything pop even more. The chocolate abuelita soft serve was such a fun twist too, like it was a mix of horchata and Mexican chocolate, really creative and yummyy. I grabbed the cucumber lime agua fresca, which was refreshing and sweet without being over the top. What really made it extra special was sitting down and mingling with long term yelp eliters at the table. We all got a cute blind box with Yelp merch at the end made the night fun. I scored an engraved Yelp bottle opener! Definitely would come back here with friends and thank you for hosting such an amazing event!!

This has got to be one of the greatest nights I've ever had this year. I have been eating tacos for the past couple weeks but this place takes the cake. The tacos were HUGE. My favorites were the lengua and pork. After two tacos and a mulita, I was full. There was no need to eat anymore. However, I was swayed by the smell of good food, so I had to get more! I finished the night with a corn on the cob. I made two friends, Grace and Kristal. I met another friend named Clinton as well. I am so glad I met such awesome people over very good food. Hope I can do it again!

OVERALL : Thank you so much to Hayley and the Yelp team for putting this event together! This was my first actual sit-down dinner with Yelp (I normally do the async experiences versus the planned group meals). I had such a fun time meeting new friends and trying out Taco Masa. The restaurant was spacious, clean, and had both indoor and outdoor seating. Service was impeccable as well and everything came out super fast! I really appreciated their housemade agua frescas, fresh tortillas, generous proteins, and yummy salsas. Dessert and the little blind boxes provided by Yelp were a plus too! I'd def come back again to try out some different menu items next time I'm in town! PARKING : located in the Downtown Brea are along a row of shops / restaurants. Free parking structure just a few mins walk away FOOD/DRINKS : Tacos - generous portion of meat and a soft freshly made corn tortilla. I got asada (steak), pollo asado (chicken), adobada (pork), as well another asada with cheese! These came with 2 salsas, one which was a bit more spicy/roasted and another that was a bit sweeter. Both went so well with the tacos! They loaded up on the guac as well. Chocolate Abuelita Soft Serve - creamy and sweet, perfect dessert after my meal! It was like a spiced chocolate and vanilla swirl Agua Fresca - I tried almost every flavor! They are house made everyday from scratch. My favs were the guayaba con limon (guava and lemon) and pepino con limon (cucumer and pineapple)

It's perfectly fried and delicious without the sauce. Entrée: Parmesan Crusted Sea Bass, obviously! My favorite and finished it all including the buttermilk mashed potatoes. Dessert was a bit hard between Meyer Lemon Cheesecake or Chocolate Cake. At the end, chocolate always win for me. FOBO (fear of better options) moment for real! Luckily toward the end, another Yelper was so full, he offered me his lemon cheesecake. Ha-ha! As the yummy meal was served, the live band kicked into celebrate with the crowd, including tribute to D'Angelo (RIP). They sang hits from Stevie Wonder and Michael Jackson! The music was fantastic, the band delivered a great performance, and the vocals were truly outstanding. The night nicely topped off with a menu book memorabilia from the co-owner (so unexpected).

Starting off with drinks, I mentioned that I wasn't much of a drinker and they graciously whipped up an off-menu mocktail. For courses, I went with the Wedge Salad, Parmesan Crusted Sea Bass, and the Chocolate Cake. Everything was too good and with great portion sizes too! We all went home with leftovers. This dinner party was also accompanied by a show of live music! If you're a fan of R&B and oldies, you'll loveeee it. Be sure to check their schedule to see who's up next. It was definitely a night to remember!

Lol kids running wildly, I'm thinking their parents dropped them off and left. Also if you should know it was, Shoulder to shoulder rubbing with strangers. Long long long lines around and hour in. Curious if the crowd died down later in the night ? Since it was 4-10pm The free music was fun, and set the mood. I love that healthy junk promotes wellness for all. What a fun market faire type of event! A lot of vendors from previous years and photos were NOT here. Since this was my first year attending I was specifically looking for a few that looks delicious with hopes let down. Supposedly some of them come from Nor Cal and other places. I do really appreciate all of the vendors being pretty friendly, and most of all vegan. Prices were okay, the dip dots soy icecream was very overpriced. Pizza slices were also up the wazoo. Ended up eating inside of healthy junk per usual. Thought they'd have more than brauts outside, was hoping for some creative dishes... Overall; worth it if you're okay with crowds, little seating a lot of standing. Hot sun, but plenty of options to cool down with drinks or indoor places to eat at instead on the downtown area. This was a fun way to try new places though, and just a very cool event !

I can't eat coconut stuff but that banana bread pudding was to died for, don't really taste the caramel. $8.49 for the Banana Caramel Bread Puddiing and remember you can mobile order this item. Now getting back to the Food and Wine, got my 8 item pass and you can order all at once at one of the main booth and pick up the items along the way, no need to get in line for every item you need. I purchased my pass at the first shop you see when you enter in the DCA to your left or there are other places you can purchased these passes at participation locations on which you can find on the little food and wine booklet. As you can tell by the pictures, i have label a grading systems out of ten and the most desires items are the mickey snickers and the sirloin gruyere mac & cheese, everything else were mid or decent, other than the three items that is not part of the SSP. Can't wait to go next year but I'm hoping to go to the EPCOT International Festival of the Arts at DisneyWorld in January of 2027 (dates not confirm yet, maybe TimTracker vlogs will tell me later on this year)

This festival was a great way to try different foods but my partner and I were surprised at the portion size since it was our first time experiencing this. Since it is Disneyland, expect the portions to be extremely small. I think if you have the chance to, it's nice to part take in the festival but definitely not a must. Some foods were just a little gimmicky and not worth the price. Items that stood out and would get again! - Pickle Sour: 5/5 - Ramen Mac N' Cheese: 5/5 (goes great w/ the chili oil they included) - Sirloin Mac N' Cheese: 5/5 - Toffe Banana: 4/5

Didn't realize when I rsvp'd to this event, it was the restaurant that replaced Ramenos. Came here during lunch time around noon. It was really busy and a full house on a Thursday. There is a Yelp wait list that you sign in on a tablet. What I ordered ~ Beef Bibambap for myself. I love bibimbap. The bowl is filled w lots of Korean fresh veggies. ~ Soft Tofu Soup for my father. He got the beef non spicy one. Filled with a lot of tofu and was given an egg for us to crack it into the soup. Both dishes came with a bowl of steam/white rice. The Banchan especially the kimchi is delicious. All which is made in house per the owner Megan. She helped assist with my order and came and checked in on us, sweet gal. Really Authentic Korean Food. Love the vibe, decor and simplicity of modern Korean vibe. Tysm to our CM Hayley & ONDO Korean restaurant for hosting this awesome Elite experience. I'll definitely be back to try their other scrumptious Korean entrees. Located in same plaza as Hobby Lobby, Krak Boba & enchanted coffee shop. Lots of parking available.

The Asian American Expo is a fantastic way to discover new products; especially food products!…read more This was my second time attending the AAE and as amazing as it was, it wasn't as fun as last year's, which had way more brands and samples (as well as deals). Think, buying products at wholesale prices, without having to buy them in bulk. There were a lot of the usual sponsors, like Toyota that had a wonderful set up; selling merch, giving swag, and having a few display vehicles to wow the patrons. There were also a lot of cultural dances to watch if you wanted to just relax in one place, sit down and watch some drummers drumming or dancers dancing. They were all so beautiful with their make up and outfits! Another note, both years I attended, there was also a simultaneous expo next door called anime impulse. You could walk around on that side too which showcased some neat cars, artisans selling crafts and merchandise, and a whole room full of kpop(Kfest), as well as cosplayers walking around. There was definitely a lot going on and it's definitely worth the 30$ entry ticket and 20$ parking. There were also shuttles (like the ones at Disneyland) taking people to and from their vehicles from the giant parking lot to the venue which was very nice and convenient. A lot of people bring suitcases or wagons to shop without having to keep going to and from their vehicles in the parking lot too often, dropping off goods (it gets heavy and hard to walk around!)

The expo this year was held at the Pomona Fairflex. We arrived around 11:30 am and the entrance already had quite a long line. I took a bit of time to get our parking ticket. Parking is $21 but there's definitely plenty of parking. We chose to park towards the back so it was a bit of a walk but we noticed there's also a mini tram to take for folks who prefer a ride versus walking. Getting through the actual main entrance to the expo was quick and easy. Once in, it's off to a lot of different booths, shows and photo ops! The Asian American Expo was in Hall 4 and it housed a ton of different booths offering Asian food and drinks. One could basically almost find any Asian food or drink that exists. It was that extensive! I saw hot pot broths, lots of noodles, Chinese onion pancakes, pineapple cake, cookies, rolls and so much more. Many of the booths offered free samples. Aside from food and drinks, there were also giveaway booths from different casinos (seemed to be popular thing with a lot of visitors as I saw long lines). There were also some beauty and massage booths. There were also various shows throughout the day. From kung fu dancing to karaoke, the entertainment was a lot of fun! Outside of the hall, there were lots of food booths. They are the booths you typically would see at fairs and night markets. We enjoyed some bbq sticks, Peking duck rolls and boba. On average expect to pay about $15 or more per booth. This year Asian American Expo was at the same time as K-Play K-POP convention and Anime Impulse (more on those events in a future Yelp review). A ticket to the Asian American Expo included entrance to those events too! A day pass ticket was $29.42 or you could purchase a 1 day pass 4 pack for $97.77. The expo ran from 10am to 7pm- plenty of time to get in your share of samples, shows and shopping! Overall I had a fun time at the Asian American Expo and would go again.
