Went here for the first time even though I live nearby. The owner, bartender, staff and patrons were all great and very friendly. Everything we ordered was excellent. We had the Yermans burger which was so juicy and flavorful that i didn't even put ketchup or any kind of sauce on it, I have never done that before. Appetizers were also excellent and they definitely didn't skimp on the liquor in my drink. Can't wait to go back and my only disappointment is that I didn't come here sooner. read more

This used to be Cooper's Ale House. I've never been to Cooper's, but I've been to Yer Man's when it was located in Kew Gardens (where the Kew Club now exists), and the crowd was much more interesting (if you like flight personnel) at the old Yer Man's than the crowd at the current Yer Man's -- the current Yer Man's has a crowd of rowdy neighborhood kids, for the most part. However, it's not an awful place. The food is good (I love their shepherds pie!) and the price is very reasonable. The staff is friendly. They have a band on Fridays, a DJ on Saturdays (and special days like New Year's Eve and St. Paddy's Day) and karaoke on Sundays and Tuesdays. Went here on a rainy Saturday night. It was pretty quiet and the environment was ok. It began to pick up the later it got. I didn't have anything to eat but the beer on tap was pretty good. As a kid, Cooper's Ale House was our hangout. It was, Growing Up Glendale.... I kinda forgot about this place during college, but went back a few times to find out that Yer Man's is there now(I remember the Old Yer Mans on Metro & Lefferts). I like the fact they didn't change anything from the Cooper's that I remember. Still a good local hangout, some new faces, but that's to be expected. The prices are good here for beer and drinks. The wings are great, full of flavor, crispy, not soggy, and very spicy. Mild is available, but I like it hot. The lamb burger is too die for. Large and juicy burger, made to perfection. Trust me, you're gonna need some napkins. They out do themselves for St. Patty's Day and Oktober Fest. Great cultural food and imported beer for the special days. The original Cooper's bar, the bar that was shown in the sitcom King of Queens (underrated sitcom). Been here to Yerman few times. As a minority, I don't feel comfortable at this bar as there are bunch of motorcycle dudes, some of the whitest people you'll see in all of Queens (it is Glendale), and a lot of country or just really old white people music. That being said, food looks good (haven't tried) and drink prices are reasonable. Never been to a bar that serves PBR in pitchers. Not a PBR fan unless i'm in the city drinking cheap, but at least it's unique to see a bar serving PBR in pitchers. Big spacey place. If you're a white redneck and looking for that kind of atmosphere, Yerman might fit "y'alllll" criteria...y'alll. read more

I been to Yer Man's twice for NFL sunday. It's a pretty decent pub in Queens. The food here was decent and the service wasn't bad at all. I came here with my friend and his Uncle who's a regular there so we had a pretty great rockin time. Food - They had wing specials when I went. I must of ate at least 30 every time I went. I plan on going back to test out their burgers and have a updated review on this place. Drinks - I didn't pay close attention last time. We were all drinking cheap beers and were too into the game. I'll have a update on that ASAP for you guys. Ambiance - Decent looking wood interior. A few big screens and several LCD screens. I believe there's open mic night and stuff which is cool. Parking isn't too hard around here. I just hate their awning, I think it looks cheap and ugly as hell. Service - Pretty good I would say. The waitress was very friendly while taking and serving our orders. Verdict - When I went, there use to be a older crowd and from what I've been hearing lately is that the crowd is a lot younger now. Amazing food! I was really impressed by how great the burger was. Everything was amazing, however we waited over 45 minutes for the food when the place was empty. That is the only reason Im not giving 5 starts but other than that, it is not your typical bar food. Great quality. I definitely recommend coming here and I will be back. So my groups of friends come here from time to time because some of them live in the Glendale area and this is a bar they have been going to for a while. Also before 9 PM any of our friends that are under 21 can get in (and not drink of course!) because the bouncer does not come until later. This place is unexpectedly big, they have a bar area when you first walk in on the right hand side along with tables and chairs and booths. They have a stage in the corner where there is sometimes live bands performing. They have a huge screen that they play a main sports game on along with other flat screen TVs. There is a dining room in the back. I have had mainly their appetizers there- chicken fingers, wings, mozzarella sticks, all the usually bar food. Tasty but nothing spectacular. I love that they have smiley fries, they are so cute and make me happy! Then on the other side of the main bar they have another smaller bar. There are a few elevated booths over on this side and also while you walk over here you will pass by an area with darts, always fun to play, just steer clear of any drunk dart player, that may not be pretty! There is a random mix of people here, every age you can think of! The workers are friendly. There is an old bartender that is there in the smaller room every time I have come and sometimes he just takes his time but everyone lets him since he's old and has probably been there like 40 years! Definitely a nice place to grab a bite to eat and some drinks with friends all while having a great time. We came across this bar by total accident few years ago and boy, am I glad that we did. Not your typical neighborhood bar due to it's large size but we are definitely treated like neighbors every time we come in. We get out of work very late and it's the only place the kitchen stays open late and we can get descent food at a late hour. I don't normally go out of my way to write a review, let alone a bad review, but here I am. My boyfriend, who is 22 (about to turn 23), and I were here with some family and friends celebrating his sister's birthday. He met up with us after because he had a late shift at work. His ID was checked at the door, and obviously he was let in because it's a valid government issued ID and he is of age. When he got to the bar to order a beer, the bartender asked for his ID again. He complied, handed his ID to the bartender, and acknowledged that he has a "baby face" so he's not offended by the second request for ID. The bartender accused him of being "cocky" and proceeded to wag his finger in my boyfriend's face and explain the consequences of serving to minors. Alright, understandable, but you're dealing with someone of age- there's no need to berate anybody. When the bartender finally handed my boyfriend back his ID, he decided he didn't like the way he took it back (um, what?) and refused to serve him. So he couldn't even drink with his sister on her birthday even though he was of age and completely sober upon entering the bar. When I went for my own drink after this ordeal, the same bartender asked me three times if my beer (which was the same brand I had been drinking all night) was for me. The drink was for me, but even if it was not, would I really face a consequence of getting my of age, sober boyfriend a beer? We both work in service, so we usually have a ton of empathy for people in the service industry, and always try to see their side of things, but this was an incredibly disrespectful power trip. My boyfriend had just gotten off a shift in the service industry, to be slighted by someone in the same industry. We both feel so disrespected by this, that I am honestly surprising myself by taking the time to make a one star yelp review. read more

Originally Coopers Ale House, I freakin love this place. Only come here really on Sundays to my Fav Bartender Yvonna. Pretty simple irish bar. drinks are made with love and the staff is real nice. Food is delicious! Burgers are Huge and juicy, I love their wings during football season, 35 cents a wing with any sauce (chipotle is the best). I went here the other night with my girl and couple that's good friends of ours. The other couple is from the area and recommend we check it out because they heard good things about it plus we had found out that it was the bar that was from the show king of Queens. After going to this bar I must say the food is good bar food and the beers aren't badly priced, it's a good local bar to check out and enjoy a few drinks and some food at. I would suggest the French onion soup,buffalo chicken fingers, Cajun chicken sandwich and the mozzarella sticks. Also they have coors banquet which not so many bars have. read more

Came here for a low key celebration fro my friend's birthday. First thing I noticed was that it's not a packed place and the crowd is older. I'd say we were the youngest there for my friends 24th. I thought it had a nice homey feel and the bartenders were so nice and knew the drinks. Food is decent bar food and prices are not terrible either. Absolutely fantastic!!!! Loved the rest before Coopers. Missed it. Friend told me about Yer Mans. First walking in was like a trip back to my 20's. Beers, wings, great dinners. Really not expecting much. From start. The waitress was perfect. Service was excellent. Food. Unbelievable!!! We had a few appetizers. Delicious. Drinks. Perfect. You could tell they care for the way they serve there alcohol. Beer was crisp. Served in a frosty mug. Heavenly. And when you thought it couldn't get any better. Dinner. I had the boneless ribeye. Cooked perfectly. Seasoned to die for. Creamed spinach that has kept me and my friend yenning for it. Great mashed. I was so happy with e meal. We spoke about it for a few days. Went back. Thought it couldn't be that good again. Guess what. It was just as good or better. Ribs and shepherds pie. I would encourage. And give my most recommendation to try it. Please. I come here a lot with my friends on the weekends. It's a good place to go to hang out and watch the game since there are plenty of tv's throughout the place. The bar wraps around and there is a lot of seating so you don't have to worry about having to stand all night if it gets crowded. The bartenders and wait staff are very friendly and will remember you if you've been there more than once. They sometimes have live bands playing on the one side of the bar. If you aren't interested in the band you can always move to the other side where it's a little more quiet. They also have karaoke nights once a week. I'm not really a fan of the food here. Nothing has really wowed me, but it's the typical bar food. The kitchen is open pretty late though, so you can pretty much order food all night whether you're at a table or at the bar. I recently had dinner at Yermans Irish Pub. As we sat at the table the girl came over and asked us if we would like something to drink. My friend Joe and I ordered Merlot. As the girl went to get the drinks we noticed that all the silverware was unusable due to the crud stuck to it. As waitress brought us our wine we noticed the wine was vinegar at this point probably from sitting around so long. We told her that so far she was striking out because of the issues and she really didn't care nor did she offer to rectify. We had to search other tables for clean silverware and order new drinks. I ordered the stuffed sole and asked her to broil it because I am watching my cholesterol. We ordered seltzer to play it safe and waited for dinner. When dinner came my low cholesterol fish was fried and doused in some sauce which appeared to be hollandaise sauce. I complained to her and she said that's the way it came. I explained the whole reason for broiling and cholesterol and she just shrugged her shoulders. Needless to say, and this has to be the first time I ever did this but I left $0 as a tip. When I received my bank statement on line I noticed the waitress had given herself a generous tip of $5. This place used to be the Cooper Ale House for many years and is featured on King of Queens as the guys hang out. It was always a good place to hang out and now has turned is a hole in the wall to put it mildly. I give this place 0 Stars but the rating won't post unless you give it at least one. Gave the place a second chance because the kitchen is open late and there really aren't a lot of options in the area. Pleasantly surprised - nice selection on the late-night menu, food and drinks arrived quickly. Different wait-staff, and they were attentive, friendly and courteous. Also noticed bouncers paying a lot of attention to what was going on. As I was coming in they turned away a couple of people who couldn't provide ID, and were actively discouraging loitering out front. Originally called Coopers and was the bar for the show The King of Queens. Been coming here for many years now. Part pub in the front with cover bands and the back is the restaurant. The food was a lot better when it was Coopers. Although Yer Man's Irish Pub seems to finally found a cook that is decent. Plus the restaurant part(the back) seems to have had a renovation and is not as dark. Standard bar food fried everything, sandwiches, alcoholic and non alcoholic beverages. Food is reasonably priced and service is fine. Though when they are not very crowded the service still tries to kick out patrons. read more
