I called around to a few companies the night before my early morning flight and was told by them all I had to call 1.5 hours before I wanted to leave at 6:30am for the airport. That meant calling at 5am, and I sure as hell would not be up that early! When I called Atlanta Taxi Cab Service, I was happy to find out I could make a reservation and then not have to think at all the next morning to make a phone call when my brain surely would not be functional. The driver arrived exactly on time in the morning and was professional and courteous. Carried my very heavy suitcases for me. He didn't talk on the phone nor slam on the breaks at any part of the ride. It was such a cozy, peaceful ride in the Town Car that I didn't want to get out and deal with the airport rush! He said upon return if I need a ride I could text (no need to call!) and say my flight # and door # that I would be at. They would track my flight for me to make sure they are there to pick up at the curbside at the right time. Now that's service! It is about $10 more than you would pay for a yellow cab but you're paying for peace of mind AND the rate includes the tip! No need to worry about calculating the tip and taxes and service charges and all that. I paid a flat rate of $55 from Edgewood. Makes flying a tad more enjoyable.

The service was described as full service with help with luggage and I made a note also about my elderly mother. Not only did I not get full service, the driver must not have closed the hatch on the SUV after I brought all my luggage to him, so as we are driving away from the airport at a high speed, luggage fell off, he almost did not even stop. We were lucky that a driver behind us stopped and moved the luggage to the side before it was runover. The driver did not even acknowledge or apologize. When I informed Uber they said not only would they not consider refunding any of the fare (I paid extra for full service that I did not get) but also that they are not responsible for the damage caused to personal items from the luggage that flew out of the back of the SUV. I will pay more to use other options, but won't select Uber again.

When I called to ask about it, I was TWICE hung up on when I mentioned I have a question about the charge. I also specifically asked for a van for a wheelchair and got a regular car. My ride was at 4:50 am and I can't imagine every van was busy with wheelchair passengers at that same time. Edit: checked my credit card statement. They've actually changed the 10.50 charge to 61 and change and there's a SEPARATE charge for 12 and some change. Keep in mind that I've already paid them 50. Disputing this with my bank and this company can kiss my ass and sue me.
