There's a handful of great teachers at this studio, which is a solid hot vinyasa studio in NOLA but Gabriella isn't one of them so I'm putting a one star review here to bring awareness. In 20 years of practice, I have never seen a teacher anywhere on the globe that teaches with such ego, narcissism and lack of concern for student safety. Literally told her before class that I have hardware in my lumbar and my PT told me not to do backbends anymore because I hardly have a disc left above my 19yo spinal fusion yet she ridicules me in front of the class for not doing the backbends she calls for. Pretty appalling. Going to her classes are sitting through more of a session in her kissing her own ass than they are actually practicing yoga. I did a two week trail while I was staying in the city for work. I tried 3 classes. Each was different. Two were heated in the room with the lights, first Bikram and second was vinyasa flow. I attended one class that was not heated also, much smaller room, fewer people which I enjoyed most. read more

As a registered yoga teacher myself, I have had the opportunity to learn from many instructors over the years, and Gabriella is one of the most exceptional teachers I have ever encountered. I first met Gabriella at NOLA Yoga Fest, where I attended one of her inversion workshops. I was so impressed by her teaching that I began attending her weekly handstand and inversion classes and have continued to do so consistently ever since. What sets Gabriella apart is her remarkable ability to truly see her students. She can watch someone move for only a few moments and identify exactly what is limiting their progress, what adjustments need to be made, and what specific drills or techniques will help them improve. Her understanding of anatomy, body mechanics, and skill development is extraordinary. She seems to have an endless toolkit of exercises, progressions, and creative approaches that allow every student to work at their own level while continuing to advance. As a teacher, I am especially impressed by her effectiveness. Many instructors can create an enjoyable class. Far fewer can consistently help students make meaningful progress in a complex skill like inversions. Gabriella does. She has an incredible ability to break down difficult movements into understandable steps, and she knows exactly how to challenge each student appropriately. One of the things I appreciate most is that Gabriella expects her students to work. Her classes are not passive, and they are not built around making everyone feel comfortable all the time. They are built around helping people improve. She is not a teacher who babies students, but she is a teacher who invests in them. If you come to class ready to learn, listen, and put in the effort, you will be challenged, supported, and given the tools to grow. Beyond her technical expertise, Gabriella is an incredibly effective communicator. Her verbal cues are precise and easy to understand, her demonstrations are both beautiful and instructive, and she creates an environment that feels focused, encouraging, and empowering. Complex skills that once felt intimidating become accessible under her guidance. I have maintained a dedicated yoga practice for years across Hatha, Vinyasa, and Ashtanga traditions, and Gabriella remains my favorite yoga teacher I have ever studied with. Every class deepens my understanding of movement, and every class leaves me with something new to work on. The progress I have made in my inversion practice is a direct result of her instruction. I signed up for an unheated class and arrived at the studio to find it WAS 90 DEGREES! the instructor gave a lame explanation that the heat is off. i cannot do hot yoga bc of a medical condition. Admitedly, I have been dragging my feet when it comes to writing this review. I wanted my review to be as magnificent as this awesome yoga studio, but I do not think I can do it the justice it deserves. I'll try anyway. Though Yes, Yoga is fairly far from my home, there are so many things to love about this place that I happily make the commute. First off, the yoga instructors here are phenomenal. Every single one of them is professional and knowledgeable. I also love that the instructors all have such different personalities, and you can learn a lot just from switching up classes now and then. Secondly, the bathroom, yoga room, and reception area are squeaky clean. This is a must. When you have ten plus people sweating excessively and washing themselves multiple times per day, everything needs to be sanitized regularly. I also love that all of the complimentary liquid soap is natural, which leads me to believe that though the studio is clean, it is not sopping with harmful chemicals that could set off a skin reaction. Third and last, the shops around Yes,Yoga are awesome. There are tacos across the street, art galleries, Zotz, and a decent amount of parking around the corner. read more

Unacceptable. This studio has a zero late policy. If you show up at 5:31 for a 5:30 class they will not let you in. Doors locked and they charge you. I need a more forgiving place. Traffic happens. I regularly do tennis, soccer, running and biking.....and the HOT yoga effectively killed me more than all of these activities. This is the workout your body is missing. You don't realize just how tense your body is until you start doing JUST the warmup. I leave dead, miserable, and drenched in sweat....but eager to come back again. read more

This studio is fantastic! I'd done some hot yoga before but never Bikram and I was definitely nervous. Turns out there was no need! The instructors were awesome and so good at explaining everything. It was hard but a very good workout. After only two weeks I've noticed a difference in my flexibility/ability which is huge for me. I have been going to Yes Yoga for almost 3 months this year and I love it! The professionals are extremely qualified and are great people in general. I purchased the 10 class student pass and I couldn't be happier with it. It fits around my busy class schedule, I bike from campus when its not too cold, and when I want to bring a friend I can invite them to come with me to one of the free community classes. Marquela is the best!! Before college I preferred vinyasa (flow) hot yoga, but Bikrum has been my favorite work out ever. It's in the name, "Yes, Yoga" because when you are struggling with the difficult positions or the heat, or when you're preoccupied with something outside your practice, Bikrum teaches you to shut out all else, look at yourself in the mirror, and say yes. read more

Recently I visited New Orleans and got a chance to take classes at Yes Yoga. I'll say one word: Yes. Okay, I'll elaborate a bit... Everyone there was extremely welcoming and friendly from the moment I walked in! And my instructors really knew their stuff, which eased my transition into a new type of yoga practice. They tweak and explain and show and guide and suggest all in an exploratory, reach-for-it, challenging way. In other words they maintained the intensity I was looking for while remaining accessible to a newbie; I saw clear improvements in my balance and flexibility in the four classes I took, and in each next class was able to explore and accept new suggestions for "leveling up" my movements, which Yes was always there to provide. In two words: perfect pace. Doing a 1-week pass and deciding to practice throughout my trip made my New Orleans experience outside the studio a happier, more present one. So I appreciate Yes Yoga's openness to travelers. Cleanly kept studio & lockers + towel & mat provided + cold water filter to fill up before class = definite perks :) Thanks to the quality of their class I'll be looking for Bikram studios in my area when I return to Philadelphia. The studio ambience has really improved since they removed the carpet. The room no longer smells bad. The vinyasa classes are really hit or miss, based on the instructor. There are a couple instructors who use sequences that are awkward and unpleasant. read more

if you are searching for a hardcore traditional bikram studio this is not it. They offer a few 90 min classes weekly. The last class I was in was a silent class and teacher played some music which was fun. I would consider buying a package here but unfortunately their class times are very limited. They need to make up their mind, either be a bikram studio or not. For everything else in between there are at least 10 other studios around. If they want to compete with the other Bikram studio in town then at least offer 1 full 90 min class at 6am everyday for those who like to practice before work. read more

Came to New Orleans to escape Miami during hurricane Irma. I was looking for a Bikram style studio and tried Yes Yoga. The studio is warm and welcoming, they have an awesome visitor package option ($50/ 5 days including mat and towel) and offer a variety of different style classes. I've done two classes with Nikki so far and she's been great! I will keep going as long as I'm in NOLA and highly recommend to anyone as their permanent or visiting studio. read more

I've practiced hot Yoga and vinyasa for over a decade now and consistently find new insight in the classes and feel supported and guided by the knowledge and clarity of the instructors. In addition to strengthening my practice, YES has also given me a real community of practitioners (and now friends!) to connect with.
