As the world spins so does my growing record collection from this amazing store. William has kept me in the loop with some great finds when he acquires them through trade or sale. I now own some records that are worth a pretty penny should I ever decide to part with them. I've become a regular around this store so much that I've had the pleasure of meeting other great patrons that love vinyl as much as myself. Hanging out here has become a pleasurable service as much as just going to a bar to have a drink with friends. I've learned a great bit and I'm eager to learn and listen to more. My musical taste is extremely wide ranging so trust me when I tell you this is the shop for all your needs. Not sure how I feel about this one. After reading 5 star review after 5 star review, I had high hopes. I feel let down. The shop is a bit chaotic though it's not the worst I've ever seen. I spent a good amount of time digging the crates but never found anything that I had to have (by no fault of the store). Pricing seems reasonable and they do have a decent classic rock selection. I was treated well and the owner seemed very nice and knowledgeable. I just feel a little more care with the layout and organization could make this a better experience. read more

Loved! This place. I took a when by looking you record stores near me. Ironically, I'm in this area frequently and never noticed. I enjoyed everybody of my visit. The best part is the listening center where you can play records to also make sure they're not scratched or damaged. I found a great grace Jones record, but there was only one song. *No longer at the flea market* A back-to-basics record store has graced its presence in San Marco! Placed aptly on Hendricks Ave. next to Green Erth Bistro, I'm beyond thrilled to have a spot close by to cure my vinyl fix. Yesterday & Today hones in on the classic rock genre and predominately used LP's. Of course, there are a handful of new, sealed records (my personal cup of tea), but the used LP's are in great condition. You'll find Jazz, Funk, R&B, Soundtrack, Blues and Country selections. Additionally, there's a significant stack of CD's for glossing through. Random trinkets for sale position themselves in the front section, according to my memory. Owner and proprietor, William, is a friendly cat. I'm looking forward to seeing a lot more of him and his shop. I'll be making my way back to replace my needle (don't take that the wrong way) and sift through his dense collection! read more

Excited that these guys moved out of the flea-market on Beach BLVD and into a proper shop. They were always a great place to shop with interesting titles, but now there is so much more space to spend out and display their stock. The have a lot of vinyl to dig through and my only small complaint was that the LP's we just put into categories like "Rock S" and not alphabetized or broken down further by artist. I recognize the shop is new and hopefully they will get to further categorizing as I think it would make a big impact on sales. They have a mix of new LP's up front as well as a solid selection of used CD's and some cassettes. The staff were very friendly and offered several times to assist. There was also a decent amount of foot traffic on my visit so hopefully these guys will get some good local support and they can grow their business. I look forward to shopping here! read more

We went to Yesterday & Today Records for the first time on Record Store Day and were very impressed with the way this store handled the line and social distancing process. We made a later visit to buy some vinyl and were also impressed by the wealth of knowledge the store owner had, but shhhhhh...we want to keep this store a secret so we have first pick of all the good music!! read more

I was in town for a few weeks, so I decide to check out the local record shops. Been on a mission to find Purple Rain, the last album I need to complete my Prince collection. Walked in and asked the guy behind the register if he had any Prince in store. He points over to a bin where this older fella is already digging. The older fella overhears me and while still digging through the crate reaches back and says, "Here ya' go. I was thinkin bout pickin this up but it's all yours if you want it." To my surprise, it's the Dirty Mind album! I never expect to find this album anywhere so I don't even bother looking for it. As the guy behind the register was ringing me up he said someone had just brought it in earlier that morning. One of those rare, zen moments when you're looking for something and you stumble upon something more awesome than the original thing you were looking for. So, my dad got me a gift certificate for Yesterday and Today last year for Christmas, but with only Fri-Sun hours, I just hadn't had a moment to get over that way.... Ok, so 9 months later, I'm trying to find the place and my GPS is telling me I am here... but I didn't see it! I thought it might be a stand alone store or in a strip mall, but it's in the Beaches Flea market. Park in the middle and head in that entrance... and phew! There they are! I timidly walked in and said, "Strange story, my dad bought me a gift certificate for Christmas, and I'm finally making it in...." and the guy said, "OMG YOU ARE ALLIE AND YOU DO EXSIST!" He had held on to the gc and was hoping, one day I'd make it in. It had actually been sort of a store joke, which was hilarious! Now on to the shop. Huge selection, mostly vintage, but they do have a few new records in. They had a section for cds, but I was there strictly for vinyl. I picked up some Police, Talking Heads and a new Black Keys album, and I was a super happy camper! Great pricing (for most I paid only 7-8 bucks) and I still have some $$$ left on the gc. While it is a drive and hard to find, I hope this review helps if you're headed this way... and had to give 5 stars for selection and for holding on to that Christmas present for me. The best record shop in Jax. Huge, varied selection, high quality, and organized. You'll find what you're looking for, if not, ask for help and he'll point you in the right direction. I have 10+ vinyls from here and I haven't had a problem with a single one. Stop in, browse, chat. So much better than guesswork on Amazon, flea market booths, or garage sales. Great selection. Staff incredibly helpful and kind. Small restroom available. Baskets here to hold records while you shop. Extremely well organized, clean and simple to navigate. I was thankful for this place! They have classics, middle of the road stuff and hits from today - just like the name indicates. The store is small but the location is great. In a trendy area that feels really safe. The owner was working while we were there and works there often so he's great to talk with about music!! Most records are between $5-$20. They also had tapes and CDs. They do have a small selection of record players but I didn't check out prices. I hope you check this place out. Worth a visit! read more
