This rating is for Ygnition Cable and Internet services. NO STARS DESERVED AT ALL. In my opinion, the worst products and customer service I have ever received. Thank goodness I moved because I would not be able to stand another moment with this cable/internet provider. The apartment I used to live at only support Ygnition and Dish, I did not have an apartment that facilitated the use of Dish, so I was stuck with Ygnition. During my time there, Ygnition was a major reason for me not wanting to live at that complex anymore. During the last two months of service, I kept getting error messages on my cable and most of my shows were not watchable or DVR-able. Their customer service representative told me incorrect information about when I should cancel my account in relation to my move out date which resulted in my pre-paying for almost 15 days extra. Now I am fighting with them for a credit for services I pre-paid for. HORRIBLE. Good riddance. read more

I wish I could give them negative four stars. I moved into an apartment complex with a friend who had already been living there, assuming that in this day and age internet accessibility would be no problem. However, I quickly learned that the fairly large complex that we live in had an exclusive contract set up with Ygnition and a dsl company called Wavelength, which I hear is equally as bad. I also quickly found out that Ygnition's business practice is to seek out complexes and offer large bundles at a cheap rate, provided they get an exclusive contract, because they know no one would actively seek out their services. From what I understand this particular business practice has them tied up in a pending lawsuit, to which I can only say they get the full and total wrath of the law beset upon them. Just to list the problems I have had with them so far: Apartment had a completely fried splitter in the wall. Completely unstable ping from anywhere to 500 - 2000 ms Sporadic disconnections that last anywhere from a few minutes to half a day. Had a string of disconnections that kept reoccurring for half a day. They make an entire building share one T1 line, there is no way that anyone could have a stable connection with this model. I can't even stream video, much less play online games. That is because it is obvious that with this business model, the intent is not to offer quality service, but to cut as many corners as possible and maximize profits. Considering they are based in Seattle, Washington and I am dealing with their presence in Houston, Texas the appeal of greed over actually offering quality service seems to be pretty widespread. I moved into an apartment complex this summer only to discover upon move in that they had an exclusivity contract with Ygnition Internet. I'd never heard of Ygnition, so before signing up I did my research online and discovered this to be the worst rated cable/internet company I have ever stumbled across. Without exaggerating, I was unable to find any positive reviews for this company. The fact that Yelp requires reviewers to give at least one star is extremely (and overly) generous for this company. Hoping that all my instincts and research was wrong, I signed up for their overpriced, low quality cable/internet only to be disappointed within the first month. I was paying twice what I paid before, and receiving half the channels, no HD, no premium movie channels, and no DVR. Honestly all those options were just too pricey and not worth it. The internet was beyond slow despite signing up for the high speed version deemed for "serious internet users". Trying to find a way around this exclusivity contracts, I discovered that the FCC banned exclusivity contracts back in 2007 and upheld their ruling in 2009. Bottom line is that Ygnition makes its profit off these exclusivity contracts with apartment complexes at the expense of its customers/residents. Once my lease is up I do not plan on renewing despite no other major problems with my apartment complex other than their illegal activity with Ygnition Cable. If you are looking to live in an apartment complex with a similar exclusivity contracts, I suggest you look elsewhere. I made the mistake of giving this company the benefit of the doubt and I have spoken with other residents who have actually broken their lease to get away from this company. I have filed a complaint with the Attorney General and the FCC and I encourage all other Ygnition customers that are locked into this company due to their apartment complexes to do the same. read more

Tina nailed it. They don't even deserve a star! The apartment I just moved into only supports ygnition and at&t, and because I didn't want a long term deal, I went with the former. Turned out to be a big mistake. I've had their service for 2 weeks now; and 5 days out of those 2 weeks, my internet wasn't working. I'm not exaggerating when I say I was on the phone with them for nearly 10 hours in that span--mainly listening to the elevator music, waiting for customer service to pick up the phone. And when customer service did pick up, they couldn't address my problems immediately, telling me that my issue would take 24 hours to go through provisions in order to be resolved. 24 hours took 5 days. Apparently a branch of their customer service is located in Costa Rica,and the only service they provide is a waste of time; but if you are lucky like me, you might get hung up on! And fyi, their speed isn't 6 megabytes/second. It is "up to 6 megabytes/second". Expect less than half of what is advertised. Cliffnotes: Stay away! read more

If I could give no stars, I would. We have spent the last year struggling with these people. I know - why did we stay? Because, we're busy, new to the area, etc... We have spent the last two days without internet EXCEPT for when we call them and finally get through the long wait times and talk to someone. Then, suddenly and very briefly, we've had internet. I spent the majority of my day on the phone trying to figure out the problem, spent $200 on new equipment because it was everything, but them. Then suddenly tonight, magic! While my husband was on the phone, doing nothing but calling in again for the 4th time today - INTERNET! So strange how that happens. Changing services ASAP on Monday. read more

This is an awful company. I have had countless problems with them already and I have only been a customer for about a month. I don't have any other options because this is the only company wired for my apartment complex. My internet is constantly going out and having to be reset. My cable often loses signal and they set us up with a bad receiver, but then refused to credit us for more than 2 days during the time that we were unable to watch tv. They brought us a new receiver; however, I had to spend another day waiting for them to come during their ridiculously long appointment windows (8-5). This company is by far one of the worst I have encountered and I wish I could use a different one. Unfortunately, this company may be the reason for me moving from my current apartments. Trust those of us that have reviewed this company. They deserve 0 stars. Internet is completely unreliable, it has been out for a full week now--ridiculous. My apartment complex has some shady deal that ygnition is the provider for the community, a HUGE part of the reason we are leaving here. Even when it does work, it is NOT high speed. False advertising!!! Oh, we originally had both cable and Internet, but cut the cable to save up for our house. The quality and reliability of that deserved 0 stars as well, FYI. Whenever the wind blew or a bird flew by, forget it. You were looking at an out of service screen that said "Dish Network" for some reason. Can't wait to be done with them next month!!! read more

Worst ISP Ever. Slow, slow, slow. (.4 MBPS downloads, anyone?) And terrible customer service. When trying to get a cable guy out to try and fix my connection speed, the conversation was like, "If your not home from 8AM-5PM, they'll charge you. If the problem turns out to be your coax line, they'll charge you. If your connection speed somehow improves between now and then, they'll charge you..." Etcetera. read more

Ygnition internet service is extremely slow and unreliable. We have had the service for a few months and find doing simple things like surfing the web to be a painful experience,and just forget about things like watching streaming media. Because the service is so slow, we are limited in what we can do with our computers, which is the opposite of what any good internet service provider should be. We should have gone with Comcast, don't make the same mistake as us. read more

I enjoy my apartment complex except for Ygnition internet service. I agree with the others no stars deserved at all. We have difficulty using the internet and streaming video is hard. They take at least one whole apartment complex, who knows how many users that is considering all the wireless devices people have these days, and stick them on a single server. Thus, it becomes a battle of the bandwidth and if anyone is misbehaving corporately the whole suffers. I've considered moving because of them if that gives you any idea how bad it is. Our complex has pigeon holed us into using their internet and because of their exclusive contract we are stuck for at least two more years with no option to switch other than 4G which is becoming more tempting. If you read this then please know I moved from a town of 50k people to a town of over 750k people in Fort Worth thinking the technology infrastructure should smoke what I had. I cannot repeat what everyone else on Yelp.com has said about Ygnition enough! This company absolutely blows! I think as a collective group we should come together and file a complaint with the better business bureau or the department of commerce and put these jokers out of business. Like most on here, my apartment complex is under contract with these idiots (why they'd put themselves in a contract with them is beyond me) and this is also a protest against my apartment, because I will move unless they drop Ygnition and no longer do business with them. The internet is horribly slow, the cable being provided doesnt have services like OnDemand, etc. and to receive channels in Hi-Def it costs a premium I'm not willing to pay (and didnt have to pay with Comcast when I lived in Dallas). Horrible, horrible company! Drop your cable because the service they're selling isn't even worth the money you're spending on it. Ygnition SUCKS! read more

Deserves absolutely zero stars. This has been my single WORST experience with an ISP in my entire lifetime. My service has been out for nearly a week and they have no idea how to resolve the problem (or plans) Day after day they tell me that they will call me back. Property managers should take note - I absolutely refuse to rent from a complex that has an Ygnition only offering. They should not be allowed to do business. read more
