This is a Shady OutFit. After wasting most of my day getting various pieces of information from them as I was considering a co-location server location with them. I ordered a VPS to test service, support, etc. I purchase, and get refunded, hmm I thought it was because of a newly activated debit card that I had not used yet and ran through my PayPal Ok, no worries, I order again and Pay with my PayPal balance payment completes. Pending server activation , canceled and refunded. Now, I'm getting annoyed! I fire off a support ticked , Show the complete payments and refunds from my Paypal. I also mention that perhaps they might want to find another software to flag for fraud since the crap they are using in grossly ineffective, obviously costing them business and frankly offending potential customers, as well as, needlessly wasting the potential customers time / labor / money! There is definitely something off with this company as they don't even have the respect to respond further apologize and make good on their mistake when I proved to them that the error was on their end and the yolk is on their faces! I've had DSL service with them for over 15 years, and they have a remarkable uptime rate and consistent performance. For DSL I can not think of a better service provider in the city, and long ago I owned my own ISP. About six months ago I switched to fiber. They are retailers of ATT, with all the joy that can bring. But just like their DSL service (which goes off ATT phone lines), it's so much easier to call Oplink direct than to engage the infuriating ritual idiot merry go round with whatever lowest tech adviser is on duty at ATT. As Oplink is a major reseller they get premium support from ATT. But the greatest aspect of Oplink support is the small group of knowledgeable techies who respond quickly and competently. A well run small business is a thing of beauty in the current large corporate climate. read more

Refused to cancel service and kept billing me for months when I was unable to log into their portal. Extremely rude when I again asked them to stop billing me a service I never used. Complete amateurs. read more

I co-lo my server in their facility and have been extremely happy with the service. Their cabinets are located in a very nice Level 3 facility near I45 & Beltway 8. It's always nice to have a place local so you have easy access to your server in case of repairs or upgrades. They offer a wide range of services, colo, dedicated, and cloud hosting. Prices are very competitive, but again being local is always a plus. When you call it's nice to talk to one of a handful of people, all of which know what they are doing. They also have DSL service, which I was extremely happy with. Unfortunately with the times I needed something with more speed than DSL offered so I ended up switching to one of the big carriers. I know several other people that co-lo their equipment with Optimal Link and they too have been extremely happy with the service and prices. read more

I've been a DSL customer for years. They are the best! They are quick to respond to concerns and very good about helping this old lady out when I need it. I'd give them 5 stars, but AT&T keeps that from happening. My home is 40 years old soon and I'm the original owner. For 40 years I've been "too far away from the phone box" to get anything faster than my DSL line. I appreciate being Oplink's customer and really love unlimited data and extreme reliability at a cost that can't be beat for folks like me on a fixed income. read more

Very amateurish. Don't waste your time. Claims my VPS order was fraud even though it was paid with my confirmed and verified business PayPal account. No attempt to resolve any issues with the order. No phone call to verify the order, no return email to the PayPal account for verification. Just bad business, incompetent. read more

It saddens me to write this review because of the decline I have seen with Oplink. I've been a customer of Oplink for more than 4 years and since the buyout by another company, Oplink is no longer the company that it once was that has received well earned reputation of been the best ISP in Houston, Tx area. All the rave reviews about support was true before the buyout. I've called their support number 3 times during the hay days and, yes, a support tech did answer my call and I remember one time he picked up on the first ring. There was none of the menu choices and commercials you have wade through - it was a straight call to a support technician. And each time my problem was resolved or they already knew about it. Having worked in the Computer industrial for more than 20 years, I can tell the technicians were all very competent. But now all that great support as disappeared. I've had to called their support number 3 times over the last 12 months (compared to 3 in 3 years previously) and all my calls went to voice mail and more importantly NO ONE called back. In one instance, my internet connection was down over 12 hours. At this point, Houston no longer have any good ISPs because the only option for most people is U-crap by AT&T where you can eventually talk to a tech support who are not competent to help much less I suspect even have a degree in Computer Science. I guess that old adage: "All good things must come to an end." Really is true. read more
