I've been to YiFang a couple of times now and tried multiple different drinks. Honestly...if fruit tea is in their name, it is definitely a good idea to get their fruit teas. The milk tea is average and tastes similar to other places, but the fruit teas are quite refreshing. I like how most of them have tiny bits of fruit within the tea, which gives you some nice textures while you're drinking your bubble tea. I usually get it with less ice and half sugar, and it is still sweet enough. Some of their specialty drinks are also quite pricey -- almost $8 for one drink. Today, I decided to get the Lemon Grapefruit Green Tea (Half sugar, less ice) for $3.00 as part of the April promotion. The lemon taste was stronger than the grapefruit taste, but it was not sour. Peach fruit tea with cheese cream: LOOK AT THAT GENEROUS AMOUNT OF FOAM! I really enjoyed the thick texture because some places make theirs more watery. There's also a right amount of sweet & saltiness to the foam. 50% sugar for the tea was good for me, plus it was refreshing and a surprisingly light drink. Lastly, lots of fresh peach bits!! They were sweet however they were too mushy for me - I like it w/some chewyness! I found it odd that the lid didn't 100% fit the cup so the barista used some tape to make it secure. While I kept drinking I did have to hold on to the lid which was a hassle especially when I was almost done..hope they find better lids! The price is pretty steep, treat yourself when you can! While planning for our Vancouver trip, Yi Fang was near the top of our "must-go" list of places to visit. I had previously been to a Yi Fang location in Hong Kong and enjoyed my experience. Their whole set up and décor is reminiscent of an ancient Chinese palace setting - with wooden plaques that display the names of each drink they offer, accompanied by various wooden tones throughout the store. This location in particular is on the smaller side, with minimal seating and a large wall with art that is perfect for those Instagram captures. As with many boba shops nowadays, you have the ability customize your sweetness and ice levels, which is always a plus. My friends opted for the passion fruit tea - which is one of their classic & most popular drink item. It's tasty and certainly full of flavor, but we just found it to be too sweet. Perhaps we'll try 30% sweetness level next time. We also tried one of their winter specials, and opted for the red date and longan tea (hot). We all really enjoyed that one, as it tastes homemade and soothing for a cold day, something our moms would make at home! I got the grass jelly milk tea with added tapioca/pearls. Yet another chain from Taiwan! I went to this chain when I went back last year and wanted to see whether it was similar to my experience in Taiwan. This is the newly opened location in Richmond, right beside Meet Fresh, which is another Taiwanese chain (for desserts), lol. There was a line up when I went. It was quite a small place and could be rather crowded when there was a line. They posted a menu at the door so you could check out what you'd like to order while you stand in line. The one I went to in Taiwan was just as small, if not smaller. It also looked quite identical as the real thing! So what's the difference between this chain and all the other ones? This one is know for fruity drinks. Their "Fruit Tea" was actually pretty good. They also have the "Cane Milk" here which was what I had in Taiwan. I got the star fruit juice with no ice @ $4.50. The price was decent. People always think I'm crazy whenever I ask for no ice but I absolutely hate it when the ice cubes dilute my drinks! Without ice, my star fruit juice retained its full "salty" flavor and it totally brought back nostalgic memories from Taiwan. First time trying YiFang. We saw a lot of people holding their drinks and decided to try some. We got there a little after 4pm and there was a line out the door, I was quite shocked. However the line was moving rather fast. And once you order, took less than 5 mins for the drinks to be ready so the service was fast. Place seems rather clean, but only few spots to sit, bar style seats. We ordered sugarcane green tea and their classic fruit tea. Both was rather good, but I did prefer sugarcane more. Yifang sells their brown sugar milk at 3pm and we got there at 2:50pm and there were 5 people in front of us. We waited in front of the staff stirring the pearls and they won't take our orders until the batch of pearls is ready. The wait wasn't painful as we were at the front of the line, but the line starts to build at around 3pm and there were about 10-15 people behind us. The cashier took our order and like all other brown sugar lattes in all bubble tea shops, you can't modify the sweetness or the ice level. It also only comes in one size (large) as the cashier didn't give us an option. She did, however, asked if krazykale wanted hers cold or "warm". It was a cold day so she settled for warm and I with the cold. I was surprised that the brown sugar isn't as intense as the other stores (Xing fu tang, sharetea...). The pearls were also smaller and quite soft, which I don't really care for. The flavour is there, it's a good drink but I won't line up again when there are other shops that serve the same product without the lineup and tastes just as good. As for the warm version, my companion thought it was comforting to drink on a cold day. She reckons it make a very good substitute for hot chocolate. It has a smoother and interesting and refreshing flavour. They use orange and apples for their orange fruit tea. I eventually found the area after driving around for 5 minutes. I think the name of the place needs to be bigger. They had the Chinese name, but then Yifang was under it, but the font was really small. I tried their Yifang Fruit Tea drink. It was delish and sooo refreshing! Next time I will opt for less sugar because the fruits inside the drinks made the drink extra sweet. They had apples, oranges, passion fruit (hint all the black seeds) and small bits of other fruits. Terrible customer service (I was there early afternoon on Dec.12.2021 at 8328 Capstan Way #1131 location) . The cashier is utterly rude. I was treated as if I am an idiot for not knowing how the making of a drink works. The cashier didn't answer my questions despite I asked for 3 times. Instead she asked me the same rhetorical questions twice and in the end dodged the question by urging me to pay impatiently. At this point, you might think my question must be rock science. However, it is simply - Is this drink hot or cold? How she responded me - " Didn't you ask for no ice? (so what do you think it is with rolling eyes?)". I was simply expecting "hot" or "cold" as an answer. However, I never got it but worsen attitude. My gf brought me here to try the infamous bbt. They have two kinds that their known for, the fruit tea one which is quite refreshing and their brown sugar one which is usually a first come first serve basis and is known to hold up a line for about 2 hours or so before they get sold out. I've been to two location and both location it was either "not ready" or "sold out" but I will try the brown sugar one some day ! A place that doesn't take cash OR credit card, only debit, wechat and Alipay. This place has permanently lost my business and I'll make sure everyone I know hears about it. Completely ridiculous. I understand that losing my business would not impact their success in the slightest, but it's a matter of principle for me. This cute tea shop is very very cozy. There was a line when I arrived but the line moved pretty quickly. I only waited about 5 minutes to order and another 5 minutes to get my order. They have a pretty good selection of flavors to choose from. Menu is both in Chinese and English. You can also customize your sweetness and ice level. At the time of my visit last month, they only accepted cash. I honestly cannot recall the name of my drink but I can vouch that it was delicious. Surprisingly the only bubble tea drinks I've had were always at the night market and they were always overly sweet so I really didn't know of any good bubble tea places to try. Everytime I go I'd ordered Black Tea Latte with no ice and 30% sugar. The cashier heard it wrong and added ice in my milk tea. The part that really disappointed me was that they took it back in, removed the ice and filled it to the brim with tea. The entire flavor was off because some of the ice had melted inside already diluting the milk, and sweetness which I've tasted couple times of different sweetness to get right. In Taiwan any typical bbt shop would not have let this happened. They'd remake the whole thing. Even Starbucks barista would just pour the whole thing out or give the one they made wrong to me for free and remake one and id only be spending 3.62 on a TRENTA milk tea. BTW if you're wondering. My bf and I was visiting a friend in Seattle and we decided to take a road trip to Vancouver. Of course I did a food&drink research before.
